Which software should I use when designing a responsive website. Dreamweaver or Adobe xd?
Hello Everyone, not a month goes by without someone complaining about slow processes and jerky user interface activity, so today I'm back in charge.the new version of Dreamweaver is totally unusable... at least as long as it is not in demo mode... i.e. working on C:/, one site at a time, teamwork reduced to a single collaborator, etc... etc....and then this Adobe Dreamweaver Helper... what a greedy one... couldn't we reduce its activity somehow without loosing the real use of the helper ?fortunately Sublime Text can help me at these times....
Hi everyone, i hope you all are ok. I would like to know if Dreamweaver is able to save changes made on the production server to the test server by saving the changed files automatically. I have already followed the steps given at the link: https://helpx.adobe.com/us/dreamweaver/using/set-testing-server.html#about_the_web_url_for_the_testing_server, but it didn't work. When saving changes to the production server, dreamweaver does not send the file to the test server. The production server and the test server are both accessible via FTP. Is there any way to do this? Thanks in advance.
For 10+ years DW has crashed after doing simple things like saving a document or copy and pasting. It has crashed on all versions of Mac OS and all versions of CC I've had.Last week I installed DW version 2020. It didn't crash for a magical six days (it had crashed without fail several times a day for a decade until last week).Unfortunately, it has crashed three times today and now takes over 20 miniutes to initialize files and reopen. Why is this happening? DW seems to be wholly incompatible with MacOS. I am currently using a MacBook Air early 2015, but this problem has been on earlier MacBooks and iMacs I've had.My OS is High Sierra, but this problem has been on earlier MacBooks and iMacs I've had.I'm using DW 2020, but this problem has existed with every version of CC.
I'm very very frustrated with your latest Dreamweaver.I do not know whether you are making it good or you are going to spoil it.It has a lot of problems. 1) There is so much hang every time I save. 2) When a line is copied, it is not copied. 3) Helping property comes in CSS, if I enter on it, then the whole property does not come properly. Note- If this continues, then I will have to use another editor Or I have to use old Dreamweaver. [Excessive redundancies removed by moderator]

I'm looking to hide HTML comments in the Dreamweaver code view. Sometimes I will have a lot of comments and I would like to view the code without the comments. I do not want to remove the comments, only temporarily hide them. I'm using Dreamweaver 2020. Thanks,Logan
Ho caricato Dreamweaver Vers. 20.0. Dovendo creare una immagine mappa ho fatto la procedura consigliata, ma, dopo aver selezionato lo strumento previsto (cerchio, rettangolo o poligono) e trascinato il punatatore sull'immagine, non succede nulla. Come mai? Grazie!
HiI recently upgraded to Dreamweaver CC2019 from CS5.5 when my old computer died. I had quite a large site building with Jquery image effects to blow up the images and Spry vertical menu bars. Spry has gone so I purchased a jquery Vertical menu bar which went on to pages OK but now I find the j queryImage Effects will not work on the same page. The image comes up correctly in the browsers but as soon as I add image effects it disappears from the browsers. Any ideas please?
Hi, Does anyone know what the media query sizes are for Iphone 11?? Iphone 8 is 375x667px Iphone x ?Iphone 11 ?Iphone 11 max ? Many thanks Tim
If I have a number of DW files open and I copy and paste from Text Edit on my Mac, some files accept the pasted text while others refuse to. Pasting can also cause DW to crash - several times a day.It also crashes several times a day upon saving a file???? And has done so for many years on different machines.
Does anyone know if you can import/export your adobe portfolio web site into Dreamweaver to edit?
When I use DW the node makes the CPU run in excess of 120% and brings the fans on at high speed. This is severely limiting my ability to work. I found a thread that said this was fixed last year, but I am still having big problems using DW. How can I stop DW causing the fans to come on?Thank you.
I'm creating an email where if you click a link it opens up your email with the mail to, subject and text is already completed. When it comes to dreamweaver/html/etc, I'm baseline on skills. I've figured out how to do all this except the body text stops at a certain point. Is there a character count or a work around for this? Or am I just doing it wrong? Right now my code looks like <a href="mailto:email@.com?subject=the%20subject&body=the%20text"> I've also used spaces instead of %20 and it still works, but that's just how I first saw how to build it. Any help would be appreciated!
Hello everyone. Here's my question:Would it be possible to copy the code from a Portfolio website using a browser's developer features, then paste that code into Dreamweaver?. I created my current website with Portfolio and am happy with it. I'm a photographer and Portfolio's integration with Lightroom allows me to easily make changes to my galleries in Lightroom's collections and update them in Portfolio in an instant. That feature is so useful to me that I'm willing to live with the limited template options Portfolio offers. I also arranged for my hosting provider to change DNS servers, so my Adobe Portfolio website appears in my own domain (ivangabaldon.com), without the "portfolio" part of the web address. When I setup Dreamweaver to access my ftp account, files that make up my Portfolio website are of course not there, since they're hosted in Adobe's servers. I would love to be able to: 1) Copy code from my Portfolio site; 2) Paste that code into Dreamweaver;
I'm using Windows 10 updated to the latest version.I used Creative Cloud App to update Photoshop, Lightroom, Lightroom Classic successfully, but updating Dreamweaver fails with Error Code 177 which tells me "the installation path is too long". All the Adobe apps mentioned above are installed using the same path, which BTW is the default path chosen/created by the Creative Cloud App...not me. I've been using these apps installed to this path for about three years and have updated them all numerous times without any problems until now. When I go into CC settings to see the path it's trying to install to it is: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Creative Cloud\ACC" which is only 54 characters long.I know I can change this path, thereby shortening it, but I'm not clear on the future ramifications of doing this since it applies to ALL CC apps, not just Dreamweaver.EDIT: I looked into manually downloading the Dreamweaver install file, but the 2020 version is not available. If I chan
I'm in the process of changing the image in a CSS of a pre-set Bootstrap W3Layout. Now I have made a few adjustments but everything still follows the basic concept as far as I can tell but the image is still not showing on three different browsers (Google, Firefox, and IE). However, it's showing just fine on Dreamweaver; although I'll admit it does disappear once in awhile....I just have to delete the image # and type it back in. I made a bunch or adjustments. I deleted and re-uploaded onto via Filezilla but that did nothing. I tried adjusting the CSS properties (cover, 100% 100%, etc), checked to see if "images"/other terms were spelled properly, but the single background image still just would not show on any browser. So it seems I'm at a los right now. All others images for the page work. I'm just bummed. I have a couple samples attached so if anyone sees anything that may be wrong feel free to throw me an idea. Thanks.
Running Windows 10 and Dreamweaver CC 2020. The Real Time Preview WILL launch a browser with the page in it, however it does NOT update as I make changes in code. This is a fresh install of DW 2020. In troubleshooting, I also downloaded the last version (2019) and in that version the Real Time Update DOES work. I went so far as to completely reinstall my whole PC with fresh Windows 10, fresh Dreamweaver. When I first ran DW the Windows Defender Firewall popped up saying it was blocking access to something, so I ALLOWED the firewall to pass that through. (I even tried turning it off with no change) Interestingly, the QR code part of Real Time Preview DOES work. I can see text change in real time on a browser on my phone as I change text in code, I just can't do that on browsers on my PC (Edge, Firefox or Chrome). To recap:DW 2019 will do the Real Time Preview on my PCDW 2020 will do the RTP on my phone via the QR codeDW 2020 will not do the RTP on my PC. (it launches the
What can I do?
I downloaded the Creative Cloud desktop to check it out and now my Dreamweaver CS6 won't launch or start-up it does nothing. Creative Cloud listed as an app in task manager and several adobe processes running in the background but no Dreamweaver anywhere. Any ideas of what to do?
Hello,I am missing the Target button in the properties panel in Dreamweaver 6.I did have the display at 150%, and I have tried resetting to 100% and restarting both dreamweaver and my computer, but it has made no difference. Can anyone help
So I have some boxed in testimonials on a website I am building. I am trying to only show three at a time, and have them automatically alternate or rotate on the screen. I've played with different carousel setups, or even setting it up like a slideshow, but I already have a slideshow on the page, and that seems to throw everything off. Any suggestions, ideas, etc. would be greatly appreciated. If there is already a post on this, which I am sure there is, I missed it and would welcome a link to said conversation.
I'm not an experienced Dreamweaver user--meaning I use Dreamweaver to work on a website designed by my predecessor. On most of our pages we include a lightbox gallery of photos related to the page topic. Whenever I needed to create a new page, I took an existing one, resaved it under a new name, and then modified what needed to be modified to make the new page. So to create the new gallery, I went into the lightbox grid on my page, deleted the contents of each gridbox, then added back in each new thumbnail and linked it to the full-size image. But now with Dreamweaver 2020 I can't do that any more. I need to create a new page that includes a six photo grid, 3x2. I do what I normally do and everything looks fine. But for starters, since the 2020 update, the live view no longer features a workable lightbox gallery...I click the thumbnails and nothing happens, so I can't test before uploading to the remote server. When I do that I get to t
It used to be when I opened the color picker and clicked on the "hex" option, it would give me swatches of web safe colors. Now it just gives me the same interface as the RGB one. Most of the time, I just want a basic red, gray, black, white, etc., but now I have to hunt and peck for the right color.Anyway to get the simple swatches back?
