Bootstrap Read-Only files

I'm totally new at this and recently decided to dive right in and build a website. I know better now that I shouldn't have modified the bootstrap.css file, but of course I did! So what now? I didn't break anything that I can tell and I didn't change much, but I can't exactly remember all the changes I made to it. Any issues with keeping it the way it is or should I try and revert it ? (can I even do that?)

Website: contact form, how to change the colour of the input field and scrolling?

Hello everyone!This is my website: www.sheilaschaefer.com, I have two problems that I am not able to see where I can put it right, well I did try, but with no avail.1. contact in the navbar will not scroll down to the contact form page in the page (the other three navbar items scroll nicely though);2. The input fields for the contact form is white text with a white background.  I went into custom.css to change the text dark blue for the input text, but it is still white.  I had followed a step by step tutorial on youtube for  this really nice contact form.Please can anyone help me in putting this right by letting me know what I cannot for the life of me see?Thank youSheila

Css stylesheet links - where - opinions?

I have been 'gifted' a widget which I need to include on a website I'm updating. It's a javascript link to an external resource which writes a link to a css stylesheet into the website to give position/presentation to the widget.The link to the stylesheet is written at the foot of the page in a div containing other code relating to the widget. Is it now considered ok for a stylesheet link to be written anywhere within the html code these days?I ask because I want to include my own css linked stylesheet to over-ride some stuff I don't much like about the widget. I was just going to include the over-ride css in in the global css file BUT if I can just start including css stylesheet file links all over the shop, should I bother?Any opinons on this practice? I was under the impression that it was still best practice to link the stylesheets in the <head></head> of the page but maybe things have moved on and I've miss that information. Header not full screen width

FTP Password error

My laptop is not as reliable as it was so I have put my DW 5.5 website onto a new desktop. Despite copying all the settings and password over to the new machine, it keeps showing as FTP Error and I'm unable to use it.I have been in touch with my hosting company who have written "the FTP feature is working, and based on the information in the Screenshot it looks like you have everything setup correctly, so we need to change the password, at least temporarily, do I have your permission to do so?"This is my only website and I'm anxious that I'll end up with conflicting passwords on both laptop and desktop . Dreamweaver Crashing [CrowdStrike AV]

HiWhenever I use Dreamweaver, it randomly crashed on me, and there are some major glitches in the CSS Designer, sometimes the panel disappears, but if you continue typing, the data remains.Carl

Dreamweaver keep "snapping" to the top of the page.

I'm running DW 18.2 and my site's main page is pretty long with a lot of images. For some time now...if I'm anywhere within the page and I insert an image, break,  or table it 'jumps' back to the top of the page...rather than staying in place. This gets very annoying as I have to scroll back down the page with every insert I make. Any idea if this is correctable through a setting?

Need help with video tutorial

I am trying to complete a Dreamweaver tutorial but can't get past the first step of the video but the application has previously been opened by someone else and I cannot follow the bouncing ball. I need to be able to "start with a new or existing folder" as the app opens but I don't get that prompt or know where to find this option.Is it possible to reset the application as if never used?Reinstall is not an option as it is a work PC.I hope this makes sense...Thanks!

How can I make Invisible files visible again in DW!

I know these invisible files are there because I can grab them individually where they are located in the list and they appear, but unless I can see them all, I can't find the pages I want to edit.   How can I make them visible again; this occurred after I reinstalled DW6.  And it's not most of the files in the website, but one long set within a single folder that only half appears.

Cannot launch Dreamweaver

Hello, I'm having trouble launching dreamweaver. I've installed it via creative cloud tool, I've installed it via the website i.e. my backend control panel if you will. Every time it tries to launch I can see it in my processes tab, but it gets up to 7mb and stops there. I've tried restoring preferences, by pressing ctrl, shift, windows key, and double-clicking the dreamweaver.exe executable, nothing happens by the program tries to launch. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, I've uninstalled, rebooted, and ran the cleaner tool, rebooted and tried to reinstall. Every time I get the same reaction from the program. I've tried to delete the cache file, but it's not there. Strangely enough, I can see the dreamweaver 2017 folder, the dreamweaver 2018 folder, but no dreamweaver 2019 folder. Also, I can't delete the 2017 or 2018 folders as it says they are not there, even though it shows them. I can go through and delete the individual files inside those folders, which I did, but I cannot delete

Why are spec'd Adobe Edge Web Fonts not loading for smartphone?

My site uses some Adobe Edge Web Fonts and they all seem to display as intended in a variety of browsers and browsers window sizes from my desktop. They also display properly in device preview (including on a smartphone).After uploading my site to a test area I checked the font display on a smartphone and none of the fonts are displaying properly. Have I missed something?

insert > html > animated composition in Dreamweaver issue

I'm having issues embedding OAM files from Animate CC  as animated compositions in Dreamweaver. I've tried both 2018 and 2019 versions. I haven't had a problem before.  I tried re-posting an older html 5 composition that had worked previously and it no longer works. I believe the problem is either with the "OAM export" in Animate CC or the "insert>html> animated composition" in Dreamweaver. [DW15] Change the name pattern of "_notes" to ".notes"?

Mostly I use DW to manage files locally, but for serious manipulations I prefer to use my fully featured file manager.In the filemanager - of course - I see the subfolders "_notes".I would like to hide them. The easiest way would be to change the name pattern from "_notes" to ".notes", because by default all files/folders which beginn with a "." are hidden (in the filemanager).Is it possible to configure DW to change the name pattern?Thanks.

Invalid version of DW CS6

I have been using DW CS6 for about 5 years to maintain a club website. I bought the product the product through e-bay (I think) from a company called Isoftware in March 2014. I have a very authentic looking License.Recently, when opening DW, I get a window appear telling me that my software is not valid and that, if I don't do something about it, the software may stop working.I have not been able to find a way to contact Adobe to sort the problem out.Can anyone give me a UK phone number so that I can get the problem sorted please?Derek

Need popup to close after clicking anchor link.

Hello,I have a popup on a page with a text anchor link that will scroll to a form at the bottom of the page. Is there a way to close it once the anchor link is clicked? Applying source formatting inserts bugs in php code.

Any way to stop Dreamweaver from formatting PHP code or train it to do it correctly? When I format my php code it adds spaces in places there should be none, thereby introducing bugs into my code.For example, line one is how the code should look, line 2 is how it looks after source formatting. Line 2 now inserts spaces before and after so it no longer works.1 echo "${'Neighborhood'.$x}"2 echo " ${ 'Neighborhood'.$x} "Any solutions for this? It makes source formatting extremely dangerous as it introduces a lot of bugs into code.

Brand new Dreamweaver CC installed. I was going through training videos--but didn't hit a wrong button--and my entire so-called application menu (File, Edit, Site, Window, etc.) disappeared.How do I get it back? Thanks!

Can't use a CSS layout

Hi,I am learning to use Dreamweaver (new version CC2019).There is an instruction for using CSS layouts:Select File > New.In the New Document dialog box, select the Blank Page category. (It’s the default selection.)For Page Type, select the kind of page you want to create.For Layout, select the CSS layout you want to use. You can choose from 16 different layouts. The Preview window shows the layout and gives a brief description of the selected layout.However, I can't use this instruction because everything looks different in my version of the program. I can't see New Document, Blank Page, and 16 different layouts for CSS.I just see New - Create a Document - Type of Document - CSS. The document that I create with CSS type of document does not let me insert Div.

Can't turn off irrelevant error messages

I'm trying to work on an SVG document, the first iteration of which is generated by Illustrator.  You'd think Illustrator and Dreamweaver could agree on a format, but they can't.  The Illustrator SVG coding is primitive.  It's so out of date, your own validators reject it, and Dreamweaver does too. I get one incomprehensible error message after another, none of which has any solution mentioned on this or any other help site.  I find the same questions on Google and Bing going back more than ten years, and there still isn't any way to fix it listed here, there, or anywhere.  Lots of people ask, but no one gets an answer, and instead of bug-fixes we get new tools that don't have instructions either.  I've been using Adobe since Photoshop 1, and I can't believe I'm still frustrated by an issue left from...ahem...Dreamweaver 3, which I believe was the first version after Adobe bought Macromedia.Since I can't find any help on this issue, and the "known fixes" a
