Dreamweaver

I can open index.php in Dreamweaver and it's code appears in the lower section. But there is nothing in the upper Live section. I tried File>Device Preview>Chrome and I got four small squares that continually appear and disappear, and the cycle repeats indefinitely. I tried the URL: localhost\phptest and I get:" can't connect". phptest is the directory of index.php. (ie. C:\xampp\htdocs\phptest). I aslo tried the URL:localhost and I get the same thing. I did create a Local Testing Server. With that I get in the upper-right corner of the DW screen:Site Testing Local Server 3 (c:\xampp\hrdocs\phptest) and the file name: index.php, but there is a question mark in front of it.Any help is appreciated. -Bruce

Now I want to host those pages elsewhere.What code is going to make the .htm page use the .dwt template code?1. USING WINDOWS ASSETS AND SELECTING THE TEMPLATE OVERWRITES THE .HTM PAGE WITH THE TEMPLATE CODEI go to the .htm page. I go to Windows/Assets as instructed and apply the template to the page. The template code overwrites the page and the page content disappears. So this does not work.2. When I have my Dreamweaver opened in split mode, the colors in my images are dark, however, when I pull it into the live preview in my browser it looks like it's super foggy. I'm not sure if it is something I did in my coding or not. Is there anything I can do or is it just a visual glitch?

How to make adobe spark video autoplay on my website?

Everything was working fine up until Sep 1, 2017 when my images in design view are not showing up. It shows the generic "broken link" image even though the images are linked properly. I can see the images in live view and when viewing in browser, just not in design view. Does anyone have a fix for this? I was told by Adobe customer service on the phone that they no longer service CS6. I get the following message at least half of the time I startup Dreamweaver or switch to a different site definition:"Access to :temp.html was denied"I click "OK" (the only option in the warning box). Sometimes I have to do that twice. Then, everything works great. Perhaps I should just ignore it, but I keep worrying that someday it will become a real problem! Any thoughts?Dreamweaver 19.0 (Build 11193), Mac OS X Sierra (10.12.6).The "warning box" has a Dreamweaver symbol on it. There is not a file named "temp.html" in the site folder. I think this problem existed before updating to version 19, not 100% sure.... but I think it did.Thanks

As mentioned in some of my other recent threads, I'm a career designer who picked up the HTML/CSS he needed along the way (usually via trial & error).With regards to adapting the layout to mobile, I made sure the base layout was responsive enough to at least look great on both desktop and tablets (which really means landscape and portrait). I'm very happy with the results on those two devices.Phones, on the other hand... well, they get the same thing the tablet gets, only at a fraction of the size. Obviously, this is far from ideal. The layout holds together just fine, and LOOKs nice, but some buttons are too small to even read.I was hoping to avoid mobile-specific code (by making the base layout so flexible it could accommodate anything) but it looks like I'm not going to be able to avoid showing/hiding different elements based on whether or not we're on :A phone, orLiterally anything else.Googling the subject reveals the most common solution to this is a SEPARATE STYLESHEET for m

Hi,I have Dreamweaver I bought and used it from 2008 to now just purchased dreamweaver 2018 and  cant figure out how to make each text in a table a different color.  If I change 1 text color all the text colors change.  I just want to change the color in each little area of the table. I have been using Dreamweaver for years to manage a fairly basic web site and I love it because I don't need to know a whole lot about HTML. I've gotten pretty good at the MINIMAL basics of HTML anyway and can do some editing by rewriting the code versus WYSIWYG in Dreamweaver.Now, we've been told we are in need of integrating a content management system into our site and that's a strange new world to me. The designer suggests using Joomla to create the features we need, but when he's finished with the web site creation, I want to be able to resume the upkeep of the web site without constant reliance on an outside party. After the CMS (which I don't understand at all) has been implemented, will I be able to use Dreamweaver to maintain the site going forward and make minimal edits to that content as needed without learning a whole new language? I'm pretty tech savvy, but not in the HTML world. When you start talking front end, back end, etc., I'm lost.

How do you find out how much data is stored in your dream weaver program?I want to buy a laptop 2-in-1 and copy my dream weaver program to the laptop. I do not know how many GB's will be used with all the data, photos, videos, etc I have within this program. How do I find this information?

Ever since I upgraded to Dreamweaver 2019, I have been unable to edit preferences.  The program simply crashes whenever I try.  Anyone else having this problem?  Anyone have a solution?  Thanks -- Doug Schwarz

I was missing on PVII extension in DW2019 (Mac) Unfortunately I deleted DW2018. Adobe dropped support for Ext Mgr without any notice (major customer disrespect). I know I can't get any help from Adobe on this so I just want to downgrade back to DW2018. How do I do it?

I know you can define multiple classes at once, by separating them with commas... but can you do the opposite?Something like...$stringA = 500px.class1 { min-width: $stringA;px }.class2 { max-width: $stringA;px }This isn't anything I'm trying to do specifically, let's not focus too much on the example; I'm just trying to find out if there's a way to define a variable in one location and call it in multiple other locations (with or without the help of php).Thanks!

When I open an .html file in DW any special characters in the file get converted into Chinese characters for some reason.For example, if I have the copyright symbol © in the .html document and I open it in DW, that symbol gets converted to this Chinese character: 息Here's some example HTML that contains the © symbol:It seems to have something to do with the encoding setting because it looks like it gets automatically switched to "Japanese (EUC)" when the file is opened, even if the Title/Encoding was originally set to UTF-8 when I created the .html file:Does anyone know a way to prevent this from happening? Or to force all .html files to open with UTF-8 encoding by default?This only started happening in the last couple of weeks. I'm not sure if it was caused by a recent CC update or something...When I open the .html file in question in other text editors, or even just notepad, the © remains intact, no issues.Thanks in advance!
