Chrome shrinks absolute form on relative bg, Firefox & Mamp do not ?

Greetings DW experts, thanks for looking at this post.  I have a carousel background of images positioned 'relative'; then I have a form on top positioned 'absolute'.  I was moving along fine with Mamp and Firefox, then I looked at it in Chrome.  The form shrinks smaller than the 395px width I gave it.  I thought it was because I did not put the form in any kind of container because doing so puts margins on the background images.  So, I put the form in a container and came up with the same results in Chrome.  I took the container off.  I'm confused, please help.  screen shots, html file and live link are below.  thanks for your support....jw  ps. it also shrinks on my iphone.  i hope it something real simple http://inventoryvideos.fairwaysit.com<!doctype html><html><head><meta charset="UTF-8"><title>Home</title><!--==============================================================================

cannot re-install dreamweaver cc 2015.3 (only 2015.0 available)

Hello all,I have a full creative cloud account and I had to remove and reinstall dreamweaver 2015.3.I cannot find DW CC 2015.3 in the CC app. Only the 2015.0 version is available.There is also DW CC 2019, 2018, but not the 2015.3 update.I badly need it.How can I get it?Here is a screenshot of my CC app.TIAtony

SSD drive and backup procedures

Let me introduce my new machine. Wel actually it is a nearly 6 y.o. Qosmio with a 2 day old Samsung 860 EVO 1 TB SSD as the C: drive and the difference is overwhelming. Dreamweaver now loads in 8 seconds rather than 50 seconds and booting the system which would take up to 8 minutes or so, is reduced 40 seconds.I had my doubts about SSD's because they can kick the bucket without warning.That is why I am wondering what method are y'all using for your backups. I do have a 😧 drive the same size as the SSD which is not utilised at the moment. I also have a 2 TB USB 3.0 drive which I use as a backup at the moment. It would be great to have an automated system.

Why won't my website upload onto the web?

Right, I have a site which I want uploading to the web via the Azure webhosting platform.1) I established a remote server connection which came back with no problems when tested. 2) The Local Folder Directory is set to the Adobe Creative Cloud folder. 3) The Remote Server root directory is "/"4) My default page is directly in the root folder of the remote server, where it should be.So why then, won't my website upload when I hit the "Put" button, telling it to upload ALL files from the Local to the Remote Server? I dont understand how a computer, an inanimate object and programmed to do what the user tells it to, behaves like an awkward, disobedient child who won't do as its told?

Is DW creating redirects?

I host about a dozen sites using Bluehost who recently provided free htts://.  For the second time my main website has somehow magically implemented a very long redirect. The address bar will show the correct site, but the content is displaying from a different site. Tech support tells me that it is in the .htaccess file and DW, but no changes have been made to it. When tech changed the .htaccess it did not solve the problem. I deleted the .htaccess which did not solve the problem.Tech support is again telling me that the problem lies with DW and they can't make changes, but they are restoring my sites back to the end of September which will hopefully solve the problem.So, do you think that DW could be cursing me like this? I strongly suspect something with the secure site as the first time this happened was right after switching to the secure. Cannot Insert a Design Note (DW CC V.18.2)

I've been using the feature for a long time. Recently noticed on one document only, we can insert the date and type a few characters only and that's it. It cuts us off, we can't add comments, the space bar and Return key do nothing. Two of us share the site with the root folder stored on a private network drive, we have for years. It's only two of us, we don't check files in or out and keep it simple. The Design Notes feature has been set to, 'Maintain Design Notes' for years and is working fine on our other documents. Any suggestions?

Hi,I am accustomed to creating links using the <a> tag.  Suddenly I am confused when creating a button and the proper way to apply a tag using HTML5.I’ve read conflicting information about this and am wondering what is the proper way to do it.  I’ve read that it should be within a <form> tag, wrap the <a> tag around the button, assign it to class=“button”,or it should be javascripted(??)<a href="https://www.mywebsite.com/html/"><button>Visit our Website!</button></a> ??Thanks for the help.

Whats in a job title?

Just to lighten the mood, this thread is not to be taken serious.Over the years I have noticed that the titles given to describe peoples job have changed dramatically, not just in what is allowed, but in the 'status' connected to them.As an example I can remember asking what someone was doing, and what the job title was, (back in 1980, I think it was). The person was making floorboards for jumbo jets, (the things you walk on) and I was told by the supervisor that he was, 'an interspace structual engineer'.I and probably Ben can remember back to the 50's upto the 70's, when the title engineer was exclusively reserved for people with relevant degrees only. So what has happened since then, that anyone can add the title 'engineer' to their job description, and it has become so common to do so that it no longer has any real meaning. How to search dreamweaver design view only

I cannot figure this out in DW CC 2018.In my old 2015 version there was an option to select whether you wanted to search the code or the design.In the 2018 version it only ever searches the code and I get alt tags, image names, etc when I'm looking for it ONLY on the design view.How can I just search the design view?Thanks!

I can't use Dreamweaver's FTP (was: FTP)

FIRST I want to simply, more than anything, just be able to use Dreamweaver as a way to download the front end of my production site files and upload them to a staging site.First I synchronize the local files with remote files. I only want to "get" newer files. The site is huge but it doesn't have so many changes that it should take so dang long. Is Dreamweaver just horrible for this? Should I just give up on Dreamweaver all together?If I can't merely use dreamweaver for FTP then I can't imagine even beginning to try to use it for anything else. I've been using Adobe products for 20 years. There was a time when I liked dreamweaver ok, small, simple static sites. For several years now I just don't use it. As soon as I start to the first thing I always do is try to FTP a site I already have and it ALWAYS HANGS UP OR TAKES FOREVER.So, right now I'm just miserable. I have way too much to do to be hung up on this. I don't want to back up EVERYTHING EVERYTIME WHEN i ALREADY HAVE IT ALL ACCEP

As a Mac and Adobe person, which website hosts have served you well?

Hi Folks!   Talk about basics...yes, I'm a newbie in this area. Its my assumption that finding a responsive website host might be a challenge when first starting. Which web hosts have served you well?   My intent is to use the Adobe community's extensive experience to narrow down possible choices to 3 or4 Web Hosts.   If along the way, I also develop a checklist of what to what priority features to look for...great! Thanks in advance for your gift of time and expertise!

Sync settings from previous version *still fails* with DW 19.0!

Dreamweaver 19.0 does not import previous settings from 18.2 which have been saved to the cloud. I agreed on opening to update from the cloud which it didn't do. Then I went to sync settings > manage and checked "Import sync settings" and restarted Dreamweaver. Under Sync settings it said updated settings are available, so I updated, and still nothing happened.I then uninstalled, including preferences, and reinstalled, just in case I missed something, and went through the whole process again! Still exactly the same.This is just frustrating and broken, just as it was in the last version. Why can't it just update from local settings like the other CC apps? Is there any way I can do this manually? Copy files over from App Data? I don't want to waste my time painstakingly remembering and setting prefs, workspaces, shortcuts, snippets from scratch! Come on Adobe!

Bootstrap line-height of footer text [Branched from DW 18.2 line height of code view]

I have a similar question but it is about adding a css custom line height for some text. Bootstrap css sets various line heights and I know I must not interfere with that css file. How can I add a css line height rule that simply applies to the text in my page footer as the line-height selector is already used by Bootstrap?

Fireworks 4 or better

I am using macromedia dreamweaver 8 and I want to place an image gallery in a web page, dreamweaver is telling me I need fireworks 4 or better to do it through dreamweaver.Problem is I can't find it anywhere, does anyone have a link to it online or a version they don't use that I could buy off themcheers

I am simply trying to place an image into an email that I am working on. All of the images for the project are in the proper folder. In one particular location in this project, Dreamweaver will allow me to place any image from the folder with the exception of the one that I need in this location. Any idea what the issue may be? I have tried png and jpg, as well as resaving from Photoshop under  a different name. Thanks in advance everyone.

If the problem has NOT been solved in 4 years ... why do we have to begin a new thread? I want to be able to access my files from any device that I have ADOBE CC on. Is that so difficult to imagine based on what we pay?  Dreamweaver is a joke. I have to download via FTP depending if I am on my laptop or desktop. MOST ANNOYING

He tenido desde siempre dreamweaber8 luego de haber tenido frontpage para el armado y corrección de mis web. Resulta que hacía tiempo que no lo estaba usando y me encuentro con que al buscar abrirlo para hacer correcciones en las web se abre una ventana que me indica que debo colocar el código de uso, pero resulta que me he mudado de localidad y esto como otras cosas se me ha perdido, por lo que traté bajar el modo gratuito para salir provisoriamente del paso hasta ver si encuentro dicho código, pero estoy en el mismo dilema.Favor si se me puede solucionar este inconveniente.Lic. Do I need to register old Dreamweaver 4

I’m a casual user of Dreamweaver I’m having to reload from scratch. I’m ask to register Dreamweaver. I bought from Macromedia do I need to contact Adobe when I still have an old license from Macromedia.  I could not get into Adobe with my old ID & PW.  What happens to old lic after Adobe bought Macromedia?
