Dreamweaver

OK I am having an issue after the last update that was to allow me to use the Bootstrap 4.0 for the actual sites to migrate them over. I keep resetting the preferences and uninstalling the program but it still keeps giving me only 3.3.7 for the version for both of the options to choose for my sites.I took the liberty of a screenshot to show what it is only giving me. Anyone else had this issue or know of the work around for it? It has become a pain in my side for over a week and half now.

OK...Was using Pinegrow Pro for a bit...just downloaded Dreamweaver CC 2018; & it looks like it's way better suited to my design methods (especially since I cut my teeth in Macromedia DW 2004).  So...a real nice lady/coding genius from the Adobe forum (as I had also tried Muse) hooked me up w/ a bootstrap template, which I've been somewhat successful in customizing.  The site I'm designing (from that template) is here:NEW 'RESPONSIVE' SITEOn that home page...the MEETINGS link (from my old, DW 2004 designed site)...had a dropdown list w/ all the days in the week...which when clicked, opened up a 'Meetings List' page, displaying the selected day's meetings.  Once at that page, the user could then select any other day...which would display that selected day's meetings....try it for yourself...at the original, DW 2004 created site:ORIGINAL 'NON-RESPONSIVE' SITEWhat I am very much hoping to do is: 1) Redesign the new home page's 'Meetings' link to have that same type of d

Hello, all,I have been working on a blog project, and with a few minor instances of troubleshooting it has been a pretty smooth job.  But I just discovered something odd about an expand/collapse that I have coded; it's nothing major, it's just a minor annoyance for someone as pedantic as I am/can be.There is a header called "Archive" that has a plus sign on the right.  When you click it, a div expands that shows years and the plus turns into a minus via jQuery.Then, click a year to display months in which at least one blog entry was submitted.Then click a month to display titles for entered blog posts.But, if you click a month to collapse the month, the minus in the header turns into a plus.Okay, so, Bootstrap is handling the expand/collapse, I just use classes on the elements, and BAM, done.  (Thanks, Bootstrap!)But I'm using jQuery to change the plus/minus, and only on the primary div via "shown.bs.collapse" and "hidden.bs.collapse".  So, when I collapse a month o

Hi,In the past I have created websites with multiple pages. Development was not too complex because anyone page never got two large.Now, I am attempting to work with a single page. Of course, this means that these single pages getting very large.Question: I am interested in any development tips of how to navigate around the page during development. For example, using the code disclosure triangles that can collapse or expand code can be a big help. But I'm curious how you can find sections of code that you might need to work on when the file gets very large?I'm interested in any tips to help with navigation with large files.ThanksDave

I would like a section to span edge to edge, however, the content within can stay in the main content standard area. It is the background cover image in this section I'd like to see fill that space. Hi all, When I use the find and replace tool in DW CC - and I search for some term – it brings up the multiple results in a tab view. As I recall in previous versions, if I was to click on one of the results it would immediately locate that result in the Code View window. This was very handy. It does not seem to work anymore. I would like to simply click on one of the results and have it is selected directly in the Code View window. Q:  How can I accomplish the same goal in the newer DW version? In my case I have various sections listed throughout a page. They all start with something like <!-- section-name is ccc -->. so, if I search for "section-name" then it will find all of these. Then, I just want to click on the one I want and it will jump to  the same in the  Code View window. Q: How best to do something like this? Maybe there is some newer, better way to do this?

Not a skilled site designer and would like to put up a basic site for my med device startup.  Have spent 2-3 days either watching DW videos online and/or reading manuals from library and old pdfs on DW 5 - 10+.  Synonyms seem to never go out of style.  Anyone know of a simple easy to understand 5 - 15 page user manual in pdf form so I may set up one very simple rather basic bland no frills vanilla website?  I find tissue engineering easier to understand than DW manuals, sadly.

how to download dreamweaver cs5 in osx or windows

I got a new computer yesterday, and when I try to define or get a hold of the site I have been working on, with the old computer, I can not define it. In manage sites, when I navigate to the location for the site, it offers nothing to select. I am on a Mac and can see the files, and folders, just nothing that makes dw happy enough to let me get a hold of it.Thoughts and or insight are welcome as always.

First off, I'm using the DW starter template called "Responsive About page" So most of the css came with the template.There is a big circular graphic (called .profilePhoto in the Css) on the left side of the page with text alongside on the right.I have three pages all with the same layout and the same size circular picture in the same place on each page.But, I've made the circular pic on the index page link through to another one of the pages. It's the only one of the three pages where that circular image is actually a live graphical link to somewhere else.But I want that index page one only, to change on hover to a different graphic to make it obvious that it is a live link.I've created the graphics I need.I've tried various things suggested by various css websites. Some of them even work. But nothing works without blowing the layout of the page part. The text on the right disappears from its place.I'm thinking there must be something in the css I don't understand. I'll post the css t

I have a summary with chapters and these also have subtitles. If I see the summary in a browser the first time, I only see the chapters with the arrow next to it and not all the subtitles listed. How can I do it, that it looks like in the photo:

http://v37.ancestry.higgsy.co.uk/content_rockliffe.php  This page has a table with three columns of names.  I have attempted to take the first three rows and put them into a grid.  Can any of you super-clever people tell me why the grid is sitting at the far right of the page all squeezed up?  I have run it through html checker and there are only three errors and they are because I am using width for the columns.  Obviously if I can implement the grid, such errors will be no more as I will dispense with the table, many thanks, David

I had to do a clean install of Windows 10 after the latest version update kept failing to install. I backed up my PC with Acronis and after the clean install completed did a Recovery from Acronis. Many of my apps came back thought I've had to do some new installs as not all the registry entries and links were maintained. My Dreamweaver CS4 is one of those that is having issues. I keep getting a 147:20 error when launching it even after using the Adobe uninstaller app and doing a clean install from the original disks. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I have hundreds of web pages on my site that contain table rows and columns of actual data. I regularly have to insert new rows and columns as I edit these pages.I have upgraded from Dreamweaver CS3 to DW CC as part of my overall upgrade to Windows 10. But I have lost my Favorites toolbar where I had Insert Row and Insert Column.I don't see a comparable command in DW CC. There is an Insert --> Table, and there is a separate Edit --> Table --> [menu], but I don't see a way to add Insert Row and Insert Column as part of "Customize Favorites."Using keyboard commands works, but I'd really like to have mouse-clickable commands in my Insert Favorites panel.Can anyone help?P..S. Under Window --> Toolbars, when I set it to Standard, it blocks out the top menu, and all the various drop-down menus are no longer available. Is there a fix for this bug?

BackgroundI am replacing my ageing computer (Windows 7) with a new one (Windows 7 also). I have used Window’s Easy Transfer to migrate content from the old computer to the new one. However, although it has migrated Dreamweaver CS5 successfully - EXCEPT when it opens, it is preceded by a program called “Adobe Extension Manager”ProblemAs this is bothersome and I don’t want this nuisance every time I access the program - How do I solve this problem? ORAs I have the CD and product pin should I just reload it to the new computer over the top of the existing program and re register it? Thanks

I'm using Adobe Dreamweaver CC 2015. I recently had a computer failure and had to move my backup to a new one (everything was working fine before that).Now when I double click a file from our web site in the files pane a dialog box come up that looks like this:It used to give you the option to check the file out so that you could edit it. At the same time a window pops up with info about incomplete file activity, like this:The rest of the message that is cut off says:eigenvector/courses/EigenU_Data_and_Models.html - error occurred - An FTP error occurred - cannot get EigenU_Data_and_Models.html.  Access denied.  The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem.I tested the FTP connection under Manage Sites and the connection tested as OK.In the files pane, you can check out a file, and it shows as checked out, but you still can't edit it.So what do I need to do so I can edit my web pages?
