Dreamweaver

I have been using Dreamweaver for many years to maintain my website. The file structure always sorted automatically. Some where during updates the file structure stopped sorting. Can someone tell me how to fix this?Jim

I just did the most recent update through creative cloud and now DW CC 2018 is requesting that I allow / deny access to the site information stored on my Mac. I understand security but its a annoyingly tedious to have to do this with... every ...single ...site.  Always allow should be streamlined right across the program, not site specific.

I have a client that needs an HTML page view that prints. I have a page created that fits the bill. When I click preview in browser (Safari) the page appears fine. However, when I try to print the it comes out completely blank. Any ideas on what is going on? Dreamweaver CC V18.0

First let me say that I am one of the many who dislike the way DW2018 changes code coloring when things are highlighted. I was able to make changes to the main.less file to stop that from happening, but now that's created another issue when I'm working on files created from a template. There is now no visible difference between editable and non-editable regions of the code. I looked through main.less to see if I could find something that was specific to template files that I may have inadvertently overridden when I made the changes to eliminate the highlighting issue, but I'm having no luck. If someone could point me in the right direction for where to look to change the color of non-editable regions in a file created from a template, I would very much appreciate it!

Hello, I am new to dreamweaver and using it for class. I made a portfolio and need to connect it using an ftp. I am using HostGator and have it all connected in dreamweaver. However, when I go to the host website I get an Error 404 message, so it is not connecting from dreamweaver to the public host. I feel like there is something simple I am missing. What I have in the local file is just the file that contains my project. In the root directory I just have a slash because every thing else I put gives me an error. Any help would be much appreciated Here are some screenshots of the files and sites on Dreamweaver.

They are really useful for large sites/templates, where you rely on a single variable to change the style of the whole page. So changing the base variable (color) changes the shades of it etc. Still - the guy i quoted denies them as he is not using them, but preprocessors are being widely used nowadays and are part of the workflow of many many web developers and designers. The same guy calls this workflow "stupid" as he doesn't posses the skills to use them in his workflows.Unfortuantley that's the problem - NOT everyone is working on a large site but still using a dumb workflow (I'll address that later on) unless you view 5 or 6 pages as a large site. I rarely have more than 2 at a push 3 stylesheets linked to a page but if you use Wordpress or some other convoluted process, which will generally have 12+ linked stylesheets, and mulltiple links to js files that may be why you feel the necessity to use such a workflow. I want to build the template that allows my team of non-coders to create title and a numbered list without my team having to go into the HTML code. My vision is a form that they can enter a title and then step by step instructions (the numbered list). This could be submitted and the title would populate the <h1> tag and the other inputs the <li> tags of the list. The page could then be saved and where I could remove the <form> and the page could be uploaded to our local server.

How can I draw a rectangle hotspot on Dreamweaver CC 2018?

I have the MAMP Server running. And a Wordpress database defined and running. I set the file up yesterday...and it worked fine all day as I edited the Wordpress site files in Dreamweaver in a Local environment.I went back again to Dreamweaver today and when I have the index.php file open in Dreamweaver and click on the Discover link, I get the message "Dynamically-related files could not be resolved because the site definition is not correct for this server."When I go back to check the Site Setup...everything appears correct. In the Basic Window I have -- Connect using: Local/Network... and the correct Server folder and Web URLIn the Advanced window the Server Model is PHP MySQLAnd the Testing Server box is checked.So why would it work fine and then not work?What am I missing?Thanks

I'm using Dreamweaver CS6  Version 12 Build 5808.Since the last Windows 10 update I can't upload files to my server. Hi.In previous versions of DW there were commands to apply inline elements like "strong" or "code".Those commands are extremly important for me, because I use them a lot. And there's no faster way to apply an element.In DW 18 these commands do not exist anymore. There are only commands for a couple of block or list elements.How can I realize a keyboard shortcut to apply inline elements to a highlighted part of the content.Of course the shortcut should work in the code view as well as in the design view.Thank you.

Hi there, I am experiencing DW CC 2018 crashing on my iMac and Macbook Pro. The iMac is had a fresh High Sierra install a few weeks ago. When I am looking up the activity monitor, I see very high CPU Use of DW and ruby processes. I cleared DW preferences a thousand times and even re-installed DW with no effect. Is there any other thing I could try out to fix this issue?RegardsHenrik

I've been using Dreamweaver for years, and up until about a month ago had no trouble updating website pages I created offline, then using the PUT command to transfer them to the online website. Now, when I do that, everything seems fine at my end, but the changes do not show up online. I have refreshed the page view many times, I have tried two browsers, Safari and Foxfire, I have checked the server connection: it tests fine, and the PUT and GET commands seem to work, but nothing changes online. I had support at my website provider try it from their end, and they were able to make changes without a problem, and those showed up on my browsers, but the GET command did not bring those changed pages to my home computer. I was able to make changes using their Control Panel File Manager, but that's all code, and I don't know much code. Something is broken and I can't figure it out. Thanks for any advice.

I've had a few folks critique my website and their biggest critique is that one can't look at thumbnails of my artwork and click on the images of my paintings to make them bigger.Since all work I've done on my site I've done using CSS, not HTML, are there any simple CSS directions for dummies that I can follow so that when folks do click on a small thumbnail it can be enlarged to about 10 x bigger?
