I am taking over editing a website - smdpmilwaukee.org - hosted by fatcow. I downloaded a trial version of Dreamweaver. How do I link to this website to edit? I don't have any website files on my computer. Thank you for your time.

I have just started using DW CC2017, and have created a template from my page with editable, repeating areas.When I try to create a new page from this existing DWT file, it doesn't give me the option to locate the site with it in.I have 2 sites in my folder when I create a new file, it only shows me the first folder only?I have gone into preferences, can't see anything that relates to it?Where am I going wrong?ThanksBatch

Hello , I am looking forward solving a problem I have when I use dreamweaver .it's when I run ps cs6 on my pc and work on it then I go to open dreamweaver it shows me an error and it doesn't run error code 1 I tried to uninstall the program and reinstall it again , it also shows me the same error so can u help me with this problem ?

It is hard to explain so I just add the print screen. I don't understand why coding looks like this (one vertical line). and how do I make it look normal?Thank you!

What's happening? Creative Cloud informs me of Upgrades - I upgrade. AND NOW I CANNOT WORK. I pay for this software. And it cost me more in lost productivity.Then I read about other people's issues. And the solution is to look in your event log and try to find the answer there. Are you serious?Should.t something come up before you press "upgrade" that would inform users that there may be problems!!!!!!Irresponsible Process. Only after I upgrade and have constant crashes do I find out there are known issues. Truly unbelievable.HP has software that finds and fixes your problems.Intuit has software that identifies issues and solves them.Intel XDK, Android Studio, Virtual Studio and on and on do not release software that crashes as many times as adobe.I am sorry but seriously. Hi All,I've been working with Real-Time Preview for the past 2 weeks to build up a HTML page from scratch without any JS. Now I want to merge this HTML code into an existing page that I was creating using Brackets. Now I want to switch to DW (2017.0.1) because of the Real-Time preview which I think is pretty awesome. Now, when I want to show the index.html of the original page none of the linked js or css files are found (hat no issues with Brackets). I am using CS3 dreamweaver.  For some reason my website is showing broken menu images.  They are working but the image is not showing until you hover over it.I don't know what has happened.  I am not a webdesigner. I may have a very specific case here, but indentation does not seem to wokr as it did years ago with DW 4, 6 etc. What I began experiencing in Dreamweaver CC in 2017.2 or possibly the version prior was a change in indentation in Code View. Hi. Can anyone offer a solution to the problem shown in the attached screenshot? (Mac 10.12.2) This is for an older version of Adobe Dreamweaver CS 5.5. (2011) that was deleted. I have the serial number. The download is complete and there is a desktop icon, but this (see screenshot) is as far as I can get. Note that this does not *appear* to be a security issue, since no warning is generated in security preferences regarding the origin of the application. This problem occurred downloading PE 11 but was overridable in security preferences. Command-clicking the "install.app" icon does not work either. Suggestions? –Ric

I am running Dreamweaver 2017 on Windows Pro 10 Version 1703. Every 10 - 15 minutes when I open a dialogue box such as ‘Save As’ the program screen in the background goes black (the dialogue box is usually still visible) and the program hangs for anything up to 60 seconds and occasionally crashes altogether. The only potential cause I have found online is Web Companion which I don’t have installed. Any ideas?Dave

In Dreamweaver (8) at Remote Info under the Advanced tab, is there a way I can change the Login and Password?  I have forgotten what they are and can’t get into update my website.  If I can’t change them, is there a way around this? I haven’t worked on websites for a long time and can’t find where my Login and Password are written down.  I appreciate any advice you can give me. I try to always work in code view and save every minute or so, out of habit. Anyway, when I save the line beneath where my cursor is changes so my code then become jagged and untidy. If go back and tab this line in and save again, the line beneath jumps to the left and when I tab that line in and save the line beneath does  the same, regardless of whether it is a tr, td or th.I am using a table format as I am displaying things that work well with a table format.I am using a Mac (updated to ver. 10.12.6) and Dreamweaver CS6.Any help gratefully appreciated!Thanks in advance!

I know how to attach a style sheet, but how do you detach one that has been superceded? (I even deleted the oldfile).It's coming up on all my pages, and as I am not an expert in Dreamweaver CS6, I'm afraid I'll use the old one by mistake.

So I last used dreamweaver when it was cs5. In that when I'd put <?php include_once("item.inc");?> it'd allow me to see that in the live view pane and edit it like I would any file if it had html in it. Now when I do this it doesn't, it just shows me code view. How do I get that again? I want to include raw html in a different file so things still sterile.

I'll try to word this question as best I can. I have a responsive image and directly underneath it (no gaps) is another box that text goes in. I want a border around that box. I've figured out the border part but the border doesn't line up with the image, it is larger. I think it's something simple but I've looked at all the max-width etc... and tried them to no avail. Help. When I start Dreamweaver and go to FILE->NEW->Starter Templates, I only see a single folder labeled "Mobile Starters", and the Sample Pages are jquery MObile (CDN), jWuery Mobile (Local), and jQuery MObile with theme (Local).No bootstrap options. What can I do?  I've been using Dreamweaver for a long time, but haven't had to use advance/new options, but now I'm going to have to come up to speed with more sophisticated applications than in the past.

I have just upgraded today from Dreamweaver CC 2017.2 to 2017.5 in hopes that an issue I've experienced for the past 3-4 days will go away, but I don't think the version of Dreamweaver is the issue. Beginning Monday or Tuesday files began "disappearing" from sites on our server. At first I figured we had been hacked, but our server IT guy can find no evidence of our system being penetrated, so I began searching for Dreamwever CC deleting remote files when using Sync. I figured I may have turned on some automatic Sync feature and Dreamweaver was deleting remote files when I was not aware. I haven't seen anything to indicate Dreamweaver has any automated sync tool that would do this, so I assume I must be activating Sync and furthermore somehow I must be indicating somehow that remote files should be deleted, or missing a dialogue box asking me before Dreamweaver deletes remote files and accidentally hitting ENTER at the right time moment where I did not see the prompt for deletion and t

Hey everyone. First time posting and first time using Dreamweaver CS6 (refuse to go over to CC) and I'm having some difficulty with placing text over an image. I've been searching around the web and still cannot come to a solid answer for what I'm trying to do. The way I'm going about this is I'm trying to take any objects from a pdf I have in the first screen shot (using the images on the left and the light blue background behind the text on the right) and turn them into one image. Then I want to place a text box or text area where the light blue box is located, but that is where I start to struggle. I don't want to make it all one image (including the text as part of it) since the text gets messed up, but I don't want to make the image a background either because I'm using the white space for it and applying margins to center it. I apologize for my ignorance/lack of understanding of this program, but I thought it would help to at least try here for any possible solutions/advice.
