I finally convinced my client to go with a fully responsive design (yaaaay), at least to an extent.Are media queries still a thing? Is that the standard format I should be using to put together this website. I was given two alternatives, and I need opinions on which is the better between the two...Option 1: I was told to make a "fully responsive" website, where I will make media queries at different breakpoints for different screen resolutions.Option 2: Or I would simply make two versions of the site. One for desktop and the other for general mobile devices with a fully responsive layout.In option 1, I was wondering if using media queries to switch between the desktop version and the mobile version (so to speak) could cause any problems with todays devices. Will it truly detect the resolution of the latest iPhone and Android devices and make an accurate breakpoint to switch down to the correct layout (that I will set up using CSS/media queries), or might there be a problem with that? Oy!I have been using DW since 1999, the good old Macromedia years. When I work, I use "split" mode, doing all coding by hand in one half of the screen and watching it come alive in the other. Way back then, this was one of the major advantages with DW. At least in my eyes.But as years have gone by, this feature has degenerated more and more. Today, DW still doesn't understand CSS that became industry standard half a dozen years ago. Absolutely correct php throws errors. Includes are not displayed, etc, etc.Nowadays, I need to constantly, i.e. every minute, check even the slightest modifications in the stylesheets or source code in a web browser.Am I the only one who's annoyed by this?Are Adobe even aware of the problem?Why is it so hard for Adobe to implement e.g. WebKit or other rendering machine to DW?Just throwing out these questions, hoping they will lead to the major improvement that DW need.Cheers!Dan

The exam is asking me to close the DOM panel and it will not let me use the windows menu. Is there any other way it has to be.The exam is also asking me to copy text from the code view but I can't select the type from the code view in order to paste it to another page.The exam also asks me to close the files panel- it will not let me use the windows menu either.I've failed the exam by 50 points and I'm tired of this please help.

I was wondering if anyone else has noticed the change in the type of questions now being posted in the forum?Last year about 50% of questions were Bootstrap related, with the occasional complaint, code related problem and lack of knowledge questions making up the rest.Now though I often find it difficult to find a question that I can join in with. With so many complaints being posted, many of which are not solved, and just as many being caused by the users requirements or set-up, I'm starting to feel redundant in the field of front-end development questions. I know Dw 2017 was a very unwelcome change to many users, but can it really be the main reason for the massive increase in complaints or the lack of code related problems alone, or have many of the complaints been building up over a number of versions with the changes introduced in 2017 being the final 'tipping point', and users unable to say exactly what is wrong, simply pointing to the obvious..Over the last 3 weeks I have watche

My client sees the following warning when he logs into a website created by me. The site allows proprietary information to be viewed/used, but does not pose a threat if an unauthorised person gains access.Info held in a database includes name, address, location, phone and email. According to the Privacy Act, this info may not be divulged.Should the client invest in an SSL certificate? If so, which level? Any recommendations?

I know that dreamweaver supports working over network folders (Use network shared folders in the Site Definition in Dreamweaver) but everytime that I save a file using dreamweaver over network, the file id changes, breaking all hardlinks. If i use others programs to edit the files, like notepad, the file ID remain the same. If I save files in local folders, using dreamweaver, this IDs remain the same.Is this a BUG from dreamwever or is there a configuration to change how the network files are saved?BTW: I tried this in CS6 and CC and the result was the same.

I am playing around with placing in an OAM file into dreamweaver from Adobe Animate. When I scale the browser The RED LINE under the IMAGE which is a DIV does not move up with the SCALED ANIMATION of the  MOUNTAINS.As you can see with the GRAY area that red bar should be up against the Image when the browser scales it. The exam is asking me to close the tab containing the properties panel, it will not let me double-click to close it nor will it let me use the windows menu.There has to be another way or they wouldn't ask me to do this.Please help!

Preran​Since the weekend i have had problems with the forum loading very slowly, (sometimes not at all) showing different fonts, (sometimes browser default) and really strange layouts being show, often having so many errors that the browser tries to automatically reload.After some network error checking, and developer console checks, i have traced the main problem to the typekit script. Unfortunatly to fix the typekit problem i would have to block all typekit scripts, (other sites using typekit ocassionally having similar problem), before de-bugging further.Anyone else seeing these problems?Note: I did not post this in the 'back room' due to the problems of page load, as it ocassionally freezes the browser.

My computer broken down and had to be replaced with a new one. Sadly, there is nobody from Adobe available to talk to. I have no idea what the next step is. Should I cancel the old connection and start a new one? I have no idea and there is no clear advise for persons like me. SAD.

Hi Guys,I use Dreamweaver CC and am having an issue with the mobile version of the menu / navigation - it is only displaying 2 dropdown items instead of the 7 items which display fine on PC - ie. in both the Self Help and also the Sports menu, in the navigation near the top of my page.   The site is http://www.mindtraining.net      Until last week I actually had about 20 dropdown items displaying successfully, but I cut them down to just 7 items last week after reading that websites with mega-menus like mine tend to get hammered by Google in regard to rankings, and that the navigation items needed to be culled - but since then, only two dropdown items seem to appear, no matter what I do.   As you will have clearly guessed, I am not a coder by any stretch of the imagination, and am using one of the (often regarded here) evil templates lol - but would deeply appreciate any help.Cheers,Craig T

Hi,What is the best practice to set media queries for real phone size.I am creating my first site, using bootstrap, and I moved the media query ruler down to 540px which is my phones screen size (960 X 540px).When i tested on the actual phone it appeared as if the resolution is lower that 540px - more like 360px.This site : https://mydevice.io/devices/#sortSmartphones  offers some info about it.So my question is, how to create a media query, which will handle the "real" pixel size and how can I know this size?Should I create media queried for max-width 540px? How does DW and bootstrap intends to handle portrait orientation assuming the CSS size is smaller than 768px when i use the default break points?I used the default DW break points 768-992-1200 and now I'm afraid these are too large for xs devices.Thank you,

Originally created website in Dreamweaver and published to sbcglobal.net. At&t now hosts the website, but we can not access the pages to edit. Is there a way to change the page and publish in AT&T or to republish the pages without using the templates AT&T provides?

I very disappointed with Adobe Dreamweaver CC 2017.5. I was hoping the new Classic Theme option would have the option to see my PHP code in the colors as it has been for the last 10 years. The issue is "Document type" is not available in Dreamweaver CC 2017.5 as it was in Dreamweaver CC 2015 (screen print below to illustrate).Tech support has sent me the following link: Learn how you can customize the colors of your code elements in Dreamweaver. However we should not have to spend hours trying to make the code colors look like it did in the previous version.

After uploading large files on a sever and found the 2017 Dreamweaver not useful. It's not accurate uploading files. The biggest issue, is when the bytes are completed, you would think all of your files are uploaded and your done. But in my case, it will run in the background for as much as an hour, I guess uploading invisible files since the bytes have been shown to already been completed.The File activity will also display a few files it started to upload and then never show any new files or it's progress after. The same with the left bottom corner in the file activity, as it seems to have uploaded the web.config file for hours, as this never changes.For 2017 I would have hoped for a better FTP options, Maybe something that can measure your upload and download speed and let you know how long the file will take as I don't want to always be glued to a desk, waiting for files in either direction.Any help or solution to a better program for FTP needs would be welcomed.
