Dreamweaver

I am developing a community-based website using Joomla and the Community Builder extension which ideally will work with a Central Authentication Service. While there is a set of plugins for Joomla and CB, the idea of replacing the Administrative and Frontend logins with an anonymous set of extensions found on the web, then not being to get back into the site scares the heck out of me.Has anyone worked with a CAS? I think you need to be a server guru even to undertake it.

Seriously, I did the most recent update (on 5/7/2017) and today MalwareBytes quarantined it.  Anyone else experience this?

Does anyone know if it is possible to put (upload) files on a certain date in Dreamweaver?Example:  I have four files that need to be sequentially uploaded to a server on the 1st, 7th, 15th and 21st of a particular month.

I'm using DW CS3 for Mac for my SCORM  e-learning projects, but agreed to help review a template for a colleague using a more modern version of DW (likely one of the latest Windows versions) to make sure all her SCORM code was integrated properly.I had her send me her template (based on one I'd sent her as a starting point) with the plan of reviewing it for her to make sure all her code was properly executed for the SCORM project we're working on.  I set up a temporary site in DW and dropped her template into it (it uses the same graphics/stylesheets).The code view was missing in viewing her template and worse yet, now the code view has vanished for all my projects (even those not associated with this particular template.  EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.  All the Code and Split buttons are there and accessible, but the 'page' that should be filled with code is completely blank -- not just collapsed.I've tried removing the preferences and deleting the workspace XML files -- neit

I have a client who wants me to send him a tar.gz compressed archive of a website I am developing locally. I usually use 7-Zip to compress files simply because it's free but I don't know if it can create a tar.gz file. I understand you usually do it in Linux from the command line but I would prefer some sort of utility. It's hard to tell what is legitimate online, so I'd prefer using a trusted source.

Hello, I find myself in a bit of a bind when it comes to default settings, it is actually allowing me to "correct" in troubleshooting but it doesn't seem to be taking place. I want to be able to quick edit using HTML5 and CSS3 but it isn't allowing me to get back to the edit aspect. I can't seem to research that, or how to troubleshoot and make everything back to normal or "default" setting. There's not too many ways you can say "default".

This started happening I believe in CS5 and then stopped. Will Dreamweaver ever again be able to edit and update any sort of live CMS site using it's excellent visual tools and editors together with Live Preview? Even if it means just hooking up with a particular CMS. Ideally a really smooth workflow would be creating static pages in DW which can easily be converted to CMS skins, which could then be easily updated as themes or skins using live preview. Surely this could be integrated somehow into Adobe's own Business Catalyst platform?

Having a bit of a problem with getting the footer on a site I am building to stay at the bottom of the content and position itself depending on the content on each page.I had made a template with the wrapper, header and footer divs to use for each page but was only able to achieve putting the footer a set height down the page so pages with little content had a large gap underneath and longer pages had the footer stuck halfway up in the middle of content.I have now tried to search and find a responsive solution but it seems to have only made the problem worse - the footer is positioned at the top of the page and pushed all the content on each page off of the visible area seemingly.The web address is uklivesound.000webhostapp.comI have taken the 'about us' page as an example for the HTML and CSS below:HTML<!doctype html><html><!-- InstanceBegin template="/Templates/Sitetemplate.dwt" codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" --><head><meta charset="utf-8"><title>

I have designed and produced a 15-page website - all pages but one (the homepage) using the same template. I'm not sure when, but partway through creating the site, something went wrong - when I press the "Preview/Debug in Browser" button on any page except the homepage, the page that comes up has no content on it. However, the blank page isn't completely empty as it does show the background colour that I set in the Page Properties and the scrollbar, which I also customised the colour of. I tested this aspect of the problem by changing the background colour of the template and then previewing one of the pages: the background colour change did show on the in-browser page.I am a complete beginner - this is my first experience with Dreamweaver as I have to use it for my ICT coursework. I am working with Macromedia Dreamweaver 8, and I'm not using any server technology for this site (as instructed by my teacher). Please advise

Dreamweaver has gone mad and keeps attaching my stylesheet TWICE to my html. So when I go to preview it nothing can be shown because not all files are saved. They are all saved though but this second stylesheet that has been added is not saved. Its hard to explain so here's two screenshots.Any help is much appreciated as this is for an assignment due tomorrow morning O_o

Hi,   I have Dreamweaver CS 4.  When I go into EDIT/PREFERENCES and change try selecting a primary image editor for a file extension, and click OK, Dreamweaver dos not save the change. When I go back in the next time, I see that the program reverts to whatever image editor was there previously.Any help?

Hello all,So followed a tutorial to create a hover effect over an image to show information and social medias that are hyperlinked to their respective pages.  It is working perfectly fine, but in the code to create the hover it had me put the image and overlay hover effect inside a container.  I don't want t have the look of a container and want it to spread the full width of the page and have no space in between the images so this is where i am stuck!  If i change the container class to container fluid it messes with the main container-fluid class i have wrapped around everything, and also makes the images full screen when i want to keep them in their respective columns that i have coded. I am fine creating the website, however, does anyone know how to set up digital pdf files on an ecommerce website that can be downloaded after purchasing the file? Is it possible to connect to DW where I'm able to edit and upload my content through DW?

For an outside project for a friend, I want to set up a simple club registration program, and all I have to work with is Dreamweaver MX 2004. I use Visual Studio.Net/SQL for work, and if possible, would like to have DW work like it in terms of the same program being event driven to capture, edit and save form data to an Access file, rather than pass the form data to a second program for editing then via session variables to a third one to save it. Cumbersome in the extreme So can this version of DW do this? I'm guessing it might have to be done with Javascript if so, which I don't really have, at least to a comfort level beyond shaky. And if so, what might be needed on the host side? I think they are hosted on GoDaddy (I have no control over that).TIA!elaine

When creating a mobile app with Dreamweaver cs6, the only library or framework available is jquery mobile. Is there a way I can style the default jquery mobile look to look like material skin?  I really love the look of material skin and I want to use Dreamweaver to design a mobile app. I have used other framework though but I want to try Dreamweaver and see.Your answers are highly appreciated.Thank you.David Pascal

Every time a search is done in DW it first counts how many files it's going to search. This must just be so the progress bar can show how far its got. Trouble is it takes almost as long to count the files as it does to search them, meaning every search is twice as long as it need to be. With 30K+ files, that's a lot of wasted time any time a full site search is run.How can the counting step be turned off?

In case others are coming up against this I just submitted it a bug in DW 2017 (however, I am not altogether sure the submission worked correctly). Mac OS 10.11Steps to Reproduce Bug: 1.  Cmd F to display Find and Replace dialog.2.  Select and copy a largish section of text from another doc (such as a Library item) and try to paste into either the Find or Replace field. Results:  All you get is a "bonk" error sound as you are not allowed to paste into it.Expected Results:As in the previous version before this update, you should be able to paste largish items of text, including Library items, into the Find or Replace fields. A workaround for now, however painful, is to reduce the amount of text you are trying to paste in and do everything one replace at a time...NB: I am also getting regular crashes doing search and replace and, as others have reported, tags are not auto closed correctly i.e. if you start a "<p>" then it completes as "</".
