Dreamweaver

I am working on an existing Dreamweaver website and the owner wants to add a landing page that redirects to the home page. The home page is index.htm. Do I just copy the index page and rename it, and then edit the new index page, or how should I go about this?

I am using Dreamweaver 2017 on Mac OSX Sierra.I have opened a HTML page and a CSS page and many other tabs same time. If I switch to the tabs it is showing me page from the beginning, not from where I was working previously.I have to find that location once again to start writing my code.Need to get rid of this problem fast.Thanks

Since upgrading to 2017 Sync Settings is no longer available. My CC account is connected but Sync Settings is greyed out. Sync settings under prefs show me as signed in but "Sync Settings Now" button is greyed out and "last sync" shows as "none".Totally broken.

For some reason my live view stopped refreshing after I change code and save. I have to manually press refresh or f5.  Also is it just or is this the worst excuse of an ide out there? I mean styles randomly crashing in live view, clicking on live screen item doesn't bring up the associated code, no basic features like converting style sheets to inline properties, and just horrible lag. It's faster for me to hit F12 to open the page in browser then wait for live view to finish reloading. I'm sick of it, I've been with DW for almost a year now, but it's just complete BS that I have to deal with this. And there aren't even better alternatives out there. By the way this is CC 2015.2 did anything change in 2016/2017 version? Is it worth upgrading?

I just installed Dreamweaver CC 2017 on my Windows 10 PC and now it crashes every time I try to add a recordset or Insert a record behavior to an ASP page.  Any ideas on how to fix this? I think Adobe took an very good product and has made it far less flexible and far more difficult to work with.  Does anyone know if the DMXZone ASP extensions work more seamlessly than trying to reactivate something Adobe wants dead?Thanks for any help or guidance!

I am getting a message when I try to save a new site With Dreamweaver CC 2017.      The root folder you have chosen is onside the folder for site 'bootstrap'. This may  cause some operation, such as synchronization, to work incorrectly. Proceed anyway?It is in C:\xampp\htdocs. I have no idea if this is effecting me or not. Can someone help?

Hi guys, I am using Dreamweaver CC, and have created a brand new version of my website with totally different formatting, css etc, which I have currently placed within a test folder, on the existing site - and I am now ready to take down the old site and upload the new one (which will also co-incide with changing servers, as well).  However, I remember last time I moved css / html files, I ran into some problems - as all my css and formatting had disappeared, and I had to do a complete redo all over again (I think possibly I may have copied and pasted the files over from the test folder to the main folder?), so I am worried I may replicate my mistake.    So.. I am just double-checking the best procedure for moving files - from my test folder to the correct public_html folder, for upload - to ensure I do not lose my formatting please.   Any thoughts would be much appreciated!Regards,Craig T

The other one is just hanging out, for now.Everything is in a folder on my desktop. Dreamweaver knows where it is. I can upload the folder, but I'm still getting the 404 message.I don't get it. Loading, but not reading. Oh joy... any bright ideas?

When editing and your cursor is in a tag - there is a funky "pea green" color for the background and white text - this is extremely difficult to read and I need it changed, but I am unable to find where to do that?Please advise!

Hi at first hello everyone! Sorry If I miss the answer but I cant find it.I have mac and I'm using the newest version of Dreamviewer. I have two monitors and when Im using an app and I click Real-time preview icon on the right bottom corner I dont get small window with qrcode etc. I think I lost this window when I moved my app window to another screen.I cant find Real-time preview window in toolbar > window. I know that it is available in File > Real-time preview but I cannot get qrcode.It is some solution to get it back without reinstall an application?Please help grettings Damian!

I have created a PHP Template in Dreamweaver CS6. Inside my PHP template, I have a PHP script which consists of 60 x code lines. A single code line needs to be updated on each .php file in my website, while the other 59 x code lines will stay exactly the same on all my .php files.In my PHP Template, I have inserted an Editable Region, while selecting the 1 x code line which I would like to make editable. However, Dreamweaver makes the entire PHP script editable; from the beginning of my script to the end of my script.---Editable region starts here---<?php60 x code lines...    ?>---Editable region ends here---If I manually move the start/end of my editable region inside my PHP code, so that it only covers the single code line which I would like to be editable, I get a syntax error.Is there a way for me to have only a single code line defined as an editable region, or do I need to have my entire PHP script as an editable region?Can I perhaps use the "editable tag att

Hello,I have a library item which I've updated. I told Dreamweaver to update the code in the related documents and Dreamweaver says it has updated 12 documents, but it hasn't. The code in the documents is still the same and it's not the new code I've edited in the library item. I've tried this several times now, but it doesn't work. I'm using the newest version of Dreamweaver CC on the Mac.Does anyone of you have an idea what I could do to make this work?Best,Sven

DW will not refresh the document window's "attached files" tabs.  It doesn't matter which document I open up, or what site I am working on, if I have linked files to an html document, DW will display them twice in the menu after any changes have been made to the associated linked files.  In every case, one tab of two tabs pointing to an associated file will produce an error message, while the other tab functions properly.The first image attached shows the workspace menu of one of the documents I am working on.  The second image shows the error message anytime I try and select the ghost tab that flasely appears to be associated with the actual attached file.  This is frustrating because I use a variety of svg, js, and css files to build my pages and it it tedious to sift through which tabs are working paths and which tabs are ghosted caches or buggy tabs.

Since I upgraded to 2017, there seems to be no Design view option. It shows in the dropdown menu under view, but it won't let me switch. When I choose Design view, the page goes blank, and the check mark stays on Live View. If I switch back to Live View or refresh, the page stays blank, with only code view showing content. I have to close and reopen my document to see Live View again. Live View slows my computer down dramatically and doesn't let me edit. I can only edit in code and the F5 to refresh does not update the live view. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and basically I can't get 2017 to work for me at all.

Hi, I am trying to figure out how to embed a video into Dreamweaver Bootstrap that I took with my iPhone 6 in 2015. The information I have found online does not work. I have it as a.MOV & .mp3. I would appreciate some assistance on this subject.Thank you.Carolyn

Can't insert any components. Error box says I'm using a version < 3. It then lets me update to bootstrap v 3.7, but still get the same error message.

i recently purchased the new MacBook Pro and installed CS6 Master Collection. The panels (ie style and property panels etc) all seem to be pixelated, as if the screen resolution is low.Non-CS6 software seems to be fine.any idea how to fix this? ps I'm aware I've posted this in a dream weaver discussion forum but adobe don't seem to have a forum for the this type of issue covering the entire CS collection.

I am trying to set up a registration, log on, log off, activation of a persons account and access to membership pages only. I am using dreamweaver cs3 with wamp and mysql. I can write all the relevent html and the database items in phpmyadmin. What i really need to know is how  I get the two to communicate with each other. It all seems to go wrong if I review it in the firefox browser. Your help on this is greatly appreciatedPeter

I have done a site for a company who had let their domain name expire and purchased a new, different domain name for the website. It is normal that their other listings should be given more weight by the Googlebot (Facebook, etc.) but strangely, the contact us page appears just before the home page in the Google SERPs. It is a dynamic site and the only copy appears briefly on the home page as a teaser, of which the majority appears on the contact us page. Is this the answer to the question?
