Dreamweaver

There is a BUG in DW 21.2 (and past versions) in the "SidePanel > Files > Manage Site> Site setup" panel.If you trigger the panel from a side panel when in collapsed mode and you click outsite of DW lets say to copy a password back to the interface, the panel hides and there is no way to recover from this locked state but to kill the app from the task manager.I you trigger the panel from an expanded mode or if you start it from the there "Site>Manage Sites" is no problem and you click outsite no problem.Can anyone verify this please ?

In a .php file, when selecting Edit > Code > Apply Source Formatting, Dreamweaver has a code-breaking bug. It applies incorrect spacing before and after backslashes used in PHP Class namespaces. For instance, this is what a namespace looks like after formatting (two examples: one without a backslash to begin the namespace and one with):<?php use Path\ ToMy\ Namespaced\ PHPClass; // Fully qualified name use\ FullyQualified\ Namespaced\ PHPClass; Before PHP version 8, this didn’t seem to affect the parser at all, so I never worried about it. After I updated my local environment to PHP 8.1, it throws a syntax error whenever there is a space after a backslash, or no space after a reserved keyword (use, new, return).  This is probably a strict-mode condition that can be turned off, but that shouldn’t be necessary. In all instances, it just seems like incorrect behavior to ever change source code in this way. After this latest upgrade, all my custom snippets are missing. I looked in the C:\Users\creco\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CC 2017 Backups and the folder was empty. Any other options?

I am the designer, maintainer, and coder for a large website which was first put up in about 1997. For those not around then, it was ... not so much fun. Handcoding tables, for instance. My background is in print design for paper publishing, btw.When Dreamweaver came out I purchased it and redid the entire website. At that time, it seemed that tables gave me the best structure and predictability for layout, so I used them.They are still there.I know I need to change this. Can someone advise me (a person who does not know Java or other coding languages except html) as to what tools in Dreamweaver are the simplest and best choice for a more modern approach that will be accessible in all browsers?Our website is much more of a research archive and materials source than a sales tool. It doesn't need dancing bears or slick slide shows. It just needs to keep up with technology.Many thanks.  Patwww.tighar.org    

Since updating Mac OS to the latest version of Monterey I am getting a dark window in code view (see attached photo). I uninstalled Dreamweaver, the re-installed but no change. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

If you do a multiple file selection in the file manager you can ctrl+click to deselect a file but single click will not single select that file. You must to click an unselect file to clear the multiple selection and then single click a file to select it.If memory serves well in older version DW CS6 that was the default interaction.

Putting files from the local site to the remote site does not work properly. Since this is a Linux site the files need to go into /web/ and they are not (see attached). I have had an extensive session with the ISP, and they couldn't tell what is wrong. They didn't see anything incorrect with the way I set up the site (see attached) but  I still wonder if that is the problem. Can anyone see something amiss?

Hi, I would like to place a different background image on each of the site's pages by applying a different class to each of the page's BODY tag, like you see below. body.classname {background: url() no-repeat center fixed;} But how can you do this if you're building your site via a Dreamweaver Template? You don't have access to the BODY tag once the page is created becuase it's not an "editable region." Is there away around this? Thanks for any help you can provide. Kind regards, Mark 

I have just tqken on fome major projects that I will be publishing with Dreamweaver.  I have been using DWUser MaxiMenu for severl years with Dreqmweaver.  One project was a modification to an old site.  MaxiMenu would let me go in and make changes but would not save them.  So I started one of the new sites, and the menu will set up OK, but when you save it cannot find any pages to save it to.  Not sure if it is the result of more recent Dreamweaver upgrades or a flawe MM.  It appears that  DW user may be out of business .  I have sent may support requests on their menu an no response.  I ealmailed their support manytimes and no response.  As final resort I mailed their sale department and no responss.Doesn't seem to be any other providers of Menus for Dreamweaver and I am too old to try to learn another  web development program.  Any ideas?Pat

Hi, I'm kinda new to Bootstrap and I created a carousel.  I've noticed that whenever I hover my mouse over it the carousel stops.  I don't want this to happen.  I did a little research and found if I put in "data-pause=false" or "data-bs-pause="false" that it would correct this.  I tried doing this and it still pauses whenever the mouse hovers. Here is the website:http://taffyproductions.com/test/ Thanks for any help. PS. Lately I have been working more with CSS sites  When doing so, thie veryh nice CSS property screen would come up and make the job easier.  Lately it no longer comes up and I cannot find anwher to access it.  I am nearly dead in the water without it.    Any ideas 

Hi all. I am trying to create a website that does the function of Parcel2Go. I need to be able to sell postage labels and then for buyers to be able to purchase these (using a payment gateway). Hi there, I forgot I had to IMPORT my dreamweaver sites, not just transfer files. SETTINGS - I went back to my old computer and Exported to create the .ste file, but where should this be saved in order for the settings to be brought in? I put it in the root folder, but it made no difference.(Also, when exporting, I no longer get the Exporting Dialog box, just straight to selecting where to save the .ste file. So I hope my original selection was the correct one.) CSS - Critically, my site pages now appear with no formatting, even though the style sheets have been copied over with the rest of it.  Can anyone help please? Every time I open Dreamweaver on my Mac, I get the following message:"This page contains some SWF objects that may not work properly in the most recent versions of Internet Explorer. Dreamweaver cannot convert them to the new SWF markups. Please delete each of them and insert again."On my website, this means the buttons in the margins do not show up on my website on the internet, and thus it is no longer possible to navigate from one page to another.Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I can understand, the simplest solution is for me to go into the html of the template page and replace the html of each SWF object (of each button) with more recent html. Hallo zusammen,mein Problem: Ich habe die DW CC-Lösung im Einsatz. Brauche aber jetzt (zusätzlich) unbedingt wieder das gute alte CS6, das aus früheren Zeiten noch auf meinem PC installiert ist. Die Lizenz hatte ich damals nicht verlängert, als ich auf CC umgestiegen bin. Wenn ich CS6 aufrufen will, heißt es "Anmeldung erforderlich" und eine Testversion soll registriert werden. Mein Software-Händler sagt, CS6 wäre nicht mehr lieferbar. Habt ihr irgendeine Idee? Ich brauche die Version CS6, würde es auch gerne kaufen, wenn ich es nur bekommen könnte...Freue mich über jedes Feedback!Viele GrüßeSteffe

Quite often, I use the "select recently modified" file to update the website.  When it runs, it expands every directory on the website, so the list gets to be very long.     I need to figure out how to COLLAPSE the list after the files are uploaded.  Now, I have to go manually though each directory containing a highlighted file and click on the directory name to collapse the listing back to something small.
