Feature Requests

Creative cloud now has auto-update on by default. So coming in Monday morning, mid way through prodution and it's updated every app to the latest version that we haven't tested. All plug-ins and scripts need to be re-licensed and haven't been moved across anyway. Please have this off by default like it used to be, we can't be updating constantly in production. Thanks. 

Hi,I find myself rendering (prerendering) a lot of comps and then reusing the ready renders just to speed up my wrkflow.It would be great if after a finished render we could just select a finished render job and drag it into the project panel - this would result in importing the file we that the selected job rendered.If the job had two outputsm draggig the job imports both of them, dragging a selected job output would import just that output 🙂

Sometimes it is still necessary for every layer to have its own track matte and it would be quicker and easier to be able to select all of those layers at once and tell them to matte to the layer above them with one click. This used to be possible but appears to no longer be so in the new track matte UX. A seemingly obvious solution to this would be to add it as an option in the track matte layer pull down box (maybe at the top with "none" or something).

I have this Comp where each layer needs two instances of the Distort/Transform effect.However, when I copy the 2nd Transform effect from one layer and paste it to a second layer that already contains a Transform effect, the effect from the clipboard overwrites the existing effect (which is unselected), in stead of adding it. This is not always desirable. Please make this more logical and consistent: only overwrite selected effects.

Shape Layer Shapes can be twisted and zigzagged, but there is no way the Shear a Shape.. Please add a Shear deformation to the Add: menu.

When right clicking on any media in a Premiere Pro timeline, there is an option to "Replace with After Effects Composition." This creates a brand new AE composition in whichever After Effects file is open at the time.There should be ADDITIONAL OPTIONS in this dropdown menu.For example: when hovering over the current "Replace with After Effects Composition" option, when right clicking media in a Premiere Pro timeline, there should be MORE options.Examples might include: "Replace with EXISTING After Effects Composition," as well as "Create New After Effects Composition" (which could do the same thing the native option does now - opening a brand new comp in whichever AE file is open at the time).The fact that users can't choose an existing AE Comp is extremely frustrating. It forces the user to copy and paste elements from an existing AE file to the new composition that has just been created. These additional options would allow for much simpler re-linking capabilities as well, especially

The new larger key frames with borders are really bad. Previous I could easily grab and move them and see the separation on the timeline. Now they just appear to overlap. Even grabbing them seems next to impossoble compared to before.Please consider adding an option to use previous keyframe format/appearence.

Hi currently when you sepperate dimentions in Ae it deletes the easings. Please reapply the easing.    I get that it's not possibe to do when you go from 2 different easings back into 1 property.   But when you go from 1 property to 2 properties this should be possible. (just apply the same easing to both keyframes) Or from 2 properties with the same easing to 1 property it should work. (just apply the same easing to the keyframe)   Much love,   Dierenwinkel  

The audio waveform disappears when you uncheck the speaker. I get why this is but its kind of annoying. Please have an option in the settings to disable this behavior. When working in a remote/hybrid team production environment across multiple operating systems, filesystems, and cloud storage/syncing services, busted filenames tend to break things or work unexpectedly for different users. Sure, some users love to use exotic naming (usually to sort files in their preferred manner), and if they want to continue shooting themselves in the foot, let ‘em 😆 . But if the File Name and Location Template panel or After Effects’ preferences could have a setting to enable automatic naming sanitization, that’d be awesome. Some automatic naming could be:Spaces could be automatically replaced by underscores, or removed when the first character is a space.Accented characters replaced with unaccented equivalents (ñ to n, é to e, etc. I realize this could be complex for non-English users)Remove/prevent special characters and punctuation, like !@#[] etc, etc. Currently when picking up work from others, I use another app to rename/sanit

As it stands, there’s no easy method to export a single frame from multiple comps. The only Time Span options that can be saved to Render Setting templates are Length of Comp and Work Area. I’d like options such as:First FrameLast FrameA specific frameCustom durations for movies If I could add a handful of comps to the render queue and choose one of my templates set to “Last Frame”, that would be very convenient than manually opening each comp and using Save Frame As.

Hello. Have you ever thought about automatic video editing? For example, we have 10 videos, and by analyzing them some sequence was gathered. Maybe based on the movement in the frame or their interestingness (some kind of machine learning) or something that would let us know that this part of the video should definitely be edited. Would it be interesting to hear your thoughts?

Hello, 1. As someone who uses PAINT/Clone Options everyday for video restoration, I'm frustrated by the lack of efficiency having to contstantly go back to the PAINT tool palette to make minor adjustments while painting.2. It would be extremely valuable if the Clone Stamp tool got its own tool palette and options, as noted below. A) it would be awesome if the the PRESET buttons hold DIFFERENT values for all of the parameters, not just Source Layer, x/y offset, and Source time shift, but ALSO include the Opacity, Flow, (blend)Mode, Channels, and Duration. Seems like CloneS tamp needs to break off from PAINT as its own tool. B) While the above redesign is happening, keeping the NumPad Opacity Options, please add the following:"*" = (at pointer location) pop-up context menu for Blend Mode"-" =  decrease the Source Time Shift by 1"+" = increase the Source Time Shift by 1 Cheers!

Im sure im not the first one asking for it and i wont be the last. Why is the process of moving or rotating an object with existing position or rotation keyframes such a hassle? You need to create a null, position the null at the pivot point of the object and parent the object to the null in order to move or rotate such an object. How about holding a key that will temporarily disable the creation of a keyframe when dragging or rotating an object? Dont tell me thats impossible to implement

Using the search feature in the timeline is fairly limited as many aspects of a layer can't be searched. It would be great if the user could search by layer type and attributes because many times the user only needs to focus on layers with common attributes. It would be great to have a real 3D workspace in After Effects with possibility to import 3D models. Here's a couple of features we could have:-Possibility to import 3D models (this used to be possible through a clunky and slow photoshop workflow)-PBR Shaders with inputs for textures-Default generation of UVs (Cube map, Sphere map, etc) for models without UVs-Possibility to project textures from a camera or a special projector object-Simple deformers for 3D models (Bend, Twist, Displace, etc...)-Possibility of extruding shape and text layers-Simple Open GL render engine-Raytraced Render Engine-Possibility to use 3rd party renderersIn node based compositors that do have a 3D workspace usually the 3D work needs to go through a render node so that it can then be composited back with the normal 2D nodes. Would be great to see consistency troughout the creative cloud regarding Free Transform.Illustrator does the best job in my opinion with the different ways you can transform an object using the alt/shift/option keys (same as the 'Legacy Free Transform' in Photoshop which they decided to make inconsitent for some reason)

It would be great to see conistency troughout Adobe CC regarding the snapping of shapes/objects/guides.After Effects is missing smart guides and the ability to snap guides to the edges of the composition (while Photoshop and Illustrator can both do this).I've noticed this has been a request for a while now so would be great to see this finally implemented.

I am not using the library for the exported .mogrt files, so please stop opening this panel every time I export, as I then have to close it again every single freaking time and with all the exporting I'm doing right now it's really getting on my nerves.

Requiring a track matte to be right above the layer it modifies seems like an archaic convention at best. Get rid of that requirement and make them like parent layers which can be anywhere and used by many layers.

So J and K are potentially really useful keys but in practice there is often way too many keyframes on a timeline. How about adding the ability to add a modifier key, such as ALT, which would let J and K navigate to the next keyframe or marker ON SELECTED LAYERS ONLY. That would be most appreciated Mr. Adobe, thank-you.
