It would be great to have a field for "personal notes" during the Lightroom Develop step. During my import workflow I walk through all of my picture the first time, delete bad ones and rate better ones with stars. Sometimes a good idea comes to my mind (how I could edit the picture), which I would like to fix to the photo. It would be perfect to have a comment field for personal usage, which gets saved in the Lightroom Catalogue, but not in the Metadata of the file. I thought of the implementation similar to the PDF comment feature in Mendeley. Each picture can get a note, at the end I can get an overview of all my notes, which are still to do. It would also be smart to implement the ability, to filter for photos with/without notes.A simple workaround, which is currently doable, to mark a picture with a certain color (which I associate with something), isn't enough. Similar to Mendeley.[Currently using Lightroom 3.6 / Win7 64bit]
Since so many people have difficulties installing, finding, deleting or simply managing their presets, lete alone moving them from one machine to another, why not add a backup/restore for presets to LR? I could fairly easily be added to the catalog backups. If a separate function, the resulting zip file could be passworded with something based on the user ID to prevent piracy.Henk
Please, PLEASE have the team add the SAME CROP OVERLAYS to the Bridge Camera RAW editor as are in both the Lightroom and the Photoshop Crop Overlays. It's very frustrating and seems to make no sense to leave this out of the camera RAW editor in Bridge.
When creating an ISO-dependent preset you have several images of different ISO values. If you're not paying attention it's easy to NOT check the box to create the ISO-dependent preset. Perhaps when you have several images at different ISO values selected, and you HAVEN'T checked the ISO dependent box pop up a warning asking if you want an ISO-dependent preset.
The ACR 12.3 UI is a good accomplishment, but it will take some getting used to. However, I find the text size to be quite small throughout the UI (from the settings windows to the panel elements), particularly if I use a monitor resolution of 2560 x 1440 or higher. In Photoshop, the Interface Settings window provides a choice of 4 text sizes, and the biggest sizes help with this problem. Please include in ACR a settings feature that offers larger text sizes.
I would be great if the app had the option to export a raw file with the adjustments made within the app, so that you can continue editing on LR desktop. The app only allows to export the original file without any changes.
In an image with a lot of structure in it, adjustment brush pins get lost. How about a list with meaningful names? Choosing the correct mask and adjustment would be faster in complex images.
Equirectangular (EQR) images for 360 'photosphere' images need appropriate support in LR and PS. These features are pretty straight forward and should be easy to add. You can even get free open source code to do it in a variety of environments. (Hugin, panorama tools, cubic2erect, erect2cube, ...)What is needed is:1. a check box to indicate an image is an EQR and should be processed as such.2. any processing that combines data from an area of pixels into each new pixel should treat the edges of the EQR as contiguous left to right, and mapped to a point for top and bottom (zenith and nadir). This include functions such as sharpening, clarity, noise reduction, and other local area adjustments)3. provide functions to translate the image zenith and nadir (top and bottom ~20% of the EQR) to the center of a re-mapped image for patching, and then to restore the edited zenith and nadir back into the original EQR again when patching is done.4. provide a function to extract cube faces, and re-cr
The work flow of a png file is safer for image quality in the long run and is a more favorable file format then Jpeg. It would save a lot of time and issues if exporting from Lightroom was a capability.
Hi there,Maybe I am a pixel peeper, but as of 2020, my observations are that Lightroom's demosaicing is falling way behind competitors and doesn't recover as much detail as, for example, CaptureOne or RawTherapee. Together with fairly average sharpening and denoising, the final result is so mushy compared to what you can get elsewhere with just a snap of your fingers, that it's just frustrating and urges me to look for a replacement. Here is a 200% crop of a photo taken on Nikon D5100 as demosaiced by RawTherapee's AMaZE VS Lightroom (all sharpening, denoising and corrections turned off in both). See how much crisper and detailed is the AMaZE version? It's literally free resolution! Well, technically, the Lr's version is "lost resolution" - you are not getting from your gear what you paid for it.Can Adobe do something about this? I mean, adopting AMaZE demosaicing from the open-source shouldn't be too hard, right? That would be already a significant improvement. Please?Cheers!
Hello. I would like to request a feature be added to Lightroom Mobile for iOS to export RAW DNG files shot withing the iPhone Lightroom Mobile app as DNGs to the camera roll. I am trying to sync to my desktop app but apparently it's been already been synced to some other catalog I no longer have access to. I cannot proceed without deleting all the images I shot in RAW on the iPhone.
I work as a photographer, I was thinking of buying an external harddisk for storing my photo catalog, which has become big.As an alternative, however, I was considering to rely on an online storage service, like google drive or one drive, which are safer and more practical. I was wondering if it was possible to access one of these services directly from lightroom, if there is a compatibility in this sense, to be able to work the files from a catalog put online without having to have the files locally on the PC or on a connected harddisk. But why Adobe doesn't have his own storage cloud, compatible with the suite? I think this could be a great idea for the future of the adobe suite.
Adobe please combine Lightroom and Photoshop to make an all-in-one photographers' tool. It is infuriating to work on a file in Lightroom and then to edit that file in Photoshop only to lose the previous Lightroom steps / history when the file is saved back into Lightroom.
I just noticed that jpeg images do not enjoy the same benefit as raw images when wrapped in DNG. I assume this was just an "oops", since I can see no technical reason for it. The value in so doing is the same for master jpegs as master raws. Please include & check codes for jpeg image data too. Bonus idea: ========= Include and check codes for proprietary raw too (store codes in catalog at a minimum, and preferably xmp too). PS - While you're at it, how about adding jpeg wrapping option to DNG converter *and* Lr import - thanks. Rob
Could there be a possibility to uncheck the information about lack of automatic lens profile showing when merging photos to Panorama in Camera Raw? I use tilt /shift lenses and I know there is no automatic lens profiles for them - it would be much easier for me not to have to confirm it every time I merge Pano or HDR Pano.Thank you in advance!
It's 2 years since the SD1 was first shown, and 1 1/2 years since a family of Sigma bodies using the 15.4/16Mp sensor began to fill out. There are now thousands of DP and SD Merrill bodies out there, and yet Lightroom/ACR still have no support for them. Third party support does exist from one small developer, so it can't be that hard to process these files - please, support these cameras or give a definitive explanation for the lack of support so users can pursue the right angle to get support.
[Feature request: The Embedded profile is hidden in the Legacy group, which is hidden by default. The profile, which is assigned by default when a Leica photo is imported, should be appear in Favorites and also in a profile group that isn't hidden by default. See here for details:https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/leica-m-262-dng-embedded-camera-profile-issue...- John Ellis]Leica M 262 DNG camera files display the 'Embedded' Profile when initially viewed in LR Classic 7.5 Develop module. When any other camera profile is selected the 'Embedded' Profile entry is no longer visible including in the Profile Browser. If 'Read Metadata from File' is invoked the 'Embedded' profile entry reappears and is selected. In addition if 'Save Metadata to File' or 'Update DNG Preview & Metadata' is invoked the 'Embedded' Profile selection disappears completely and is not recoverable using 'Read Metadata from File.'LR 7.2 does not exhibit this behavior so it appears this "bu
Traditional weak point of CR / Lightroom is the noise reduction. I found similar problems reported to Adobe 2 years ago but nothing has been improved. The noise removal and sharpening should be split between dark and highlight areas. It is obvious taht the noise is much more visible in dark areas of photo. The sharpening and the noise removal should be split into separate areas: dark and light. It should be really easy to implement basing on local corrections with luminocity range.
The new Dehaze effect is great! After setting the white balance, that new slider is my next big thing to move. The type of adjustment feels more like the same kind as the Clarity adjustment. Now I have to scroll all the way down to the Effects panel to use Dehaze. To me it would me way more logically to have the Dehaze near the Clarity slider. That would save a lot of time, scrolling through panels up and down, again and again. Thanks!
I would like to be able to see more, and probably all, of the EXIF data store by my camera. There are many reasons for this; I am sure each person can supply their own!
Hi, I have a feature request for the Develop module in lightroom. In the histogram, I would love for the RGB percentages from where the cursor is hovering to also show up graphically in the histogram. Ie, if your R is 50%, G is 25%, B is 75%, then they each have a corresponding vertical line displayed at their corresponding horizontal place in the histogram. Many thanks
As it stands, there is no way to view the preview embedded in a raw file except by loading the raw file into an external app. Many a folk has wanted to view, in Lightroom, the camera-generated preview, or preview as edited by camera manufacturer software, or even DNG preview as previously saved in Lightroom or Photoshop/ACR. So, the 'Idea' is for some way to temporarily view the jpeg preview embedded in a proprietary raw or DNG file. Embedded preview should be usable in before/after comparison, as well as side-by-side, as well as temporary loupe display. Note: development resources to satisfy this request would be relatively small. If you like this Idea, please remember to click the '+1' button below.
As most windows tablets and laptops come with SD card readers this would make as a great companion software for dslr's. So I think raw support would be greatly appreciated, maybe as an add on pack?
While using an adjustment brush, the "Alt" key (on Windows) temporarily selects the "Eraser" brush which is very convenient. However, the keyboard shortcuts "1"-"0" then no longer set the "Flow" value. Only if one explicitly chooses the "Eraser" brush one can set the flow strength with the keyboard shortcuts. Why doesn't "Alt" + set the flow value for the eraser brush? I reported this before through the official Adobe feedback form but like many other submissions I made it didn't result in a response yet.
Hi,Let's say we have a number of photos I want to use to create a stitched panorama. Each of these photos has a series of keywords for example previously applied to them in Bridge, which are different for each image. When creating such stitched panorama with CameraRAW's "Merge to panorama", does anyone know how to combine the keywords from the photos that constitute it?If not, it would be a great feature to add to the "Merge to Panorama" dialogue window. Thanks
