Modern mobile devices run on ARM processors, and that is the future. Look at Apple. Please develop native ARM versions of Lightroom Classic and all other Adobe products. Even with the current version of LrC, it is impossible to take advantage of ARM-based AI for noise reduction! Noise reduction takes hours, despite using a fast Snapdragon processor. That is simply unacceptable. After all, you rewrote the software for Apple in record time—why not for Windows? Otherwise, I will be forced to switch to Luminar Neo, and I could replace Photoshop with Affinity; both run natively on ARM. Adobe is still relying on the outdated x86 architecture. I urge you to change this. ARM is many times faster than x86.Many thanks in advance!
When using the Lightroom Classic SDK it would be great to be able to move photos in the catalog between folders programmatically. A simple example would be for writing a plugin that moves selected photos between parent catalog folders, while maintainig folder structure (to move files between disks). While it is possible to create folders and move disk files using `LrFileUtils`, any catalog photo moved that way ends up as 'missing' in the catalog because their disk location is changed by `LrFileUtils` but the photo `path` in the catalog is not updated. It is possible to read a photo's path using `photo:getRawMetadata("path")`, provided by `LrPhoto`, but it is not possible to change a photo's path using `photo:setRawMetadata("path")` because `path` is not a valid key for writing back to the catalog photo. So in summary, it is currently not possible to move a photo between catalog folders in a Lightroom Classic catalog using the SDK. `LrFil
The slideshow with HDR would be really great
Lightroom Classic is software that I love using every day, and historically I feel it has been positioned as being on it’s way out, which is very scary. Even though cool features do get added, the ‘Classic’ framing make it feel like I’m invested in a dead end.
Woudl love to be able to select a previous mask when adding/removing. For example, I shoot a lot of lifestyle/product images on a Fjord in Alaska like the ones attached. I mask the beach, water, mountains and sky separately. When masking the mountains, it would be great so select background, subtract sky, then subtract pre-existent mask "Ground" and mask "Water" that I have already created. That would ensure a perfect boundary between the two and make the flow really quick.
La scala zonale di Ansel Adams serve principalmente a chi come me lavora in bianco e nero. E’ composta da undici zone da undici zone da zero a undici. Passando con mouse sull’immagine si visualizza in quale zona si trova quella parte di immagine.
When you’re done editing in Lightroom mobile you have the option to Add borders and share. Please please allow the borders option in the cloud and classic version of Lightroom. It’s such an easy addition, why are you holding back on this?
It would be great to have some non-destructive way to apply at least color correction to videos in Lightroom Classic. Perhaps using dynamic link to premiere? That way all my media could be viewed and organized in one place. Maybe it’s just a script that Lightroom Classic generates for premiere to apply over time?
Backing up an LR catalogue in Lightroom Classic (including ‘Verify Integrity’ and ‘Optimize catalogue’) can take quite a long time. If the catalogue contains around 150,000 photos, the two files being backed up will be over 20 GB. In this case, the backup takes a good 10 minutes. The task is a “single-core process”. That is why I would ask:Please revise this part of the program so that the backup utilizes all CPU cores. There are examples online showing that a script can be used to speed up the catalogue backup in this way.Integrating this speed-up feature into the program would be very welcome.
I shoot Canon RAW Images. I used to use Topaz Photo AI. That software had an option to find and improve faces in photos. If Lightroom Classic could do that too, that would be a useful addition, but having AI improve entire images would be even better. One problem that I frequently experienced with Topaz Photo AI is that it badly distorted text in photos.
When using LR Classic I would like to hide/turn features off if not using them, I don't use Transform very often or Calibration, would be good to hide them on the screen, & to allow Dust removal etc to take its place without having to go through the Erase Tool. Hoping you understand what I'm getting at.
I am using my laptop with a second screen. When I open Lightroom Classic on the second screen, the fonts are too large. My work around is before I start, I change the laptop resolution to 100% (from its 250% default), then open Lightroom. Once Lightroom has started I change the laptop back to 250%. Then the laptop screen and the second screen for Lightroom are usable. The annoying thing is I need to do this everytime.
Like in Capture One and Hasselblad focus the ability to select the exposure number between zero and 255 for when the overexposure warning goes off in one channel
Sometimes you go out and take many many photos. Sure, they can all go in your main Lightroom Classic (LrC) Catalog. But if you are going to spend a few day or longer culling them, it would be helpful if you can use a temporary LrC Catalog and:(a) if you can back up the temporary Catalog and photos, and take them to your laptop/somewhere until you’re ready to load up the ones you want to edit; and(b) when examining these photos and temporary crops they currently flush out the others you’re editing from the same cache, meaning slower responses in the Develop module. The Previews are already in the Catalog hierarchy - let’s allow the Camera Raw cache to be there too, if desired.
It would be great if when I click the Guided upright tool all the prominent lines in the image get highlighted so I can quickly click the lines I want to align my image on instead of having to carefully click and drag the lines I need to work with.
Could Adobe Lightroom Classic incorporate a feature that automates window masking in real estate photo editing, facilitating 'window pulls' without the need for manual brushing? Love the products! greets!
Hola! Me gustaria saber si en algun momento le pondran la herramienta de "Relleno generativo" a Lightroom Classic, para no tener que volcar el archivo a photoshop para utilizar la herramienta,
DNG should be able to have sidecar .xmp file for the edits we do in LR classic. it would speed up the backing up processit would preserve the integrity of the filesit would preserve the life span of ssd and hddit would make the workflow with different raw files from different brands more consistent. It would prevent the original creation date of the file from being changed, thereby avoiding mistakes when synchronizing or overwriting files with the same name but from different years.Since synchronization is primarily based on the file name and creation date, this is particularly important for professional photographers. We only have 9,999 numbers available in the file naming system, so it is common for RAW and DNG files from different years to have the same numerical file name. In these cases, the original creation date is the only reliable parameter the computer has to distinguish between them and prevent the wrong file from being overwritten.I am hoping this discussion gets some suppor
Give Claude the Lightroom playbook and create the MCP integration. I think we would all be happy with that.
So, good color grain simulation is pretty hard to find, and a while back I came up with my own as a PS action, which is pretty good. (Optional) To give a better "pushed grainy color reversal film" look, increase saturation (even till unrealistic ... go look at E1600 +2/+3) and smooth image (texture -50 or thereabouts)Desaturate photo "-50" to avoid gamut problemsConvert to CMYKFor each channel:a) Camera Raw Filter: Grain Amount 100, Grain Size whatever (e.g. 30), Grain Roughness 100b) gaussian blur (to match grain size above)Convert back to RGBTurn saturation back up "+50" Et, voila! Now, obviously there is no reason this can't be done in Lightroom itself, as basically all of this is built in (no explicit gaussian blur but it's used everywhere internally). Here's an example up close and magnified. This is a nice clean digital photo run through the above action: For comparison, here is a scan of +2 pushed cross-processed expired E100-something:
I've been using Lightroom for 10 years now and I still love the program. I don't do many VFX tweaks and barely use photoshop for event photos. But I would love if Adobe can allow you to choose and adjust polychromatic film grain, not just monochromatic. Film doesn't have monochromatic grain unless it's B&W. Also would love a Halation effect. Something that you can adjust color, brightness, bloom, softness, etc. Does anyone else want this?
This would allow people to start filenames with date-time so alphabetical order is same as capture time order, and would create unique filenames (without yet another field) and properly order bursts.... Presently, exif metadata includes subsecond field, but Lr filenaming template stops at full seconds. So for unique filenames, one would have to tack on some kind of sequence number or something as well. So, as things stand, one can have: YYYY-MM-DD_HH-MM-SS_{seq-num}_{photog/camera...} but not (as I would prefer): YYYY-MM-DD_HH-MM-SS-MS_{photog/camera...} A side benefit is that filename indicates subseconds between shots in a burst, which is otherwise unavailable in Lightroom without a plugin. Although, I could argue for displaying that too in formatted metadata display, even if only upon mouse-over. --------------- I would like to use Lightroom import dialog box for importing, instead of the plugin I use now, but it stops just shy of what I need/want still. - this is one of the things.
As you compare the grain effect beetwen Lightroom Classic and Silver Efex, you can see that SE is more natural, as the LR grain seems to be plastered on the entire image: the shadows and highlights are equaly recovered with grain while very bright zones shouldn't. It is very visible on B&W pictures. On a picture if I add film grain effect, I use a Luminance mask and reduce the grain slider to reduce grain impact on the Highlights. Not bad but not quite satisfying. I wish LR could implement a better film looking grain. Maybe a slider "preserve HL" could be added in the Grain panel, as it exists in the Vignette panel. Hope this idea helps.
It automatically groups your photos into "Current Session", "Last 24 Hours", "This Week", etc. This stops old edits and exports from mixing with new ones when you return to a catalogue after a break. It saves time by letting you instantly isolate and export only your most recent work. To optimize workflow continuity for high-volume creators, Adobe should introduce a dynamic "Smart Session History" or “Recently Edited” filter within the primary catalogue navigation panel to isolate active work from historical adjustments. Currently, returning to a project after a break requires manual flagging because the native "Edited" status pools all historical data together. This proposed feature utilizes local application state logs to automatically segment edited assets into three real-time categories:Current Session: Isolates only the assets modified since launching the application for the current work block, providing an immediate view for targeted exports. Last 6/12/24 Hours: Bridges the gap a
To be able to say, this photo is ready to publish to Stock or portfolio and simply hit a button or select in menu and have the process automated. It would be nice if it transferred to a routine allowing user to select exact location. Similar to publishing to social media or transferring to a plugin.
