I bought a Surface Studio when they were released in hopes that I would be able to edit directly on the screen with the use of the Surface Dial complimenting the Surface Pen, but I was sad to find out that there was no Adobe support for the Surface Dial, especially in Lightroom. Can someone please tell me when Adobe will enable functionality for the Surface Dial in Lightroom and Photoshop. It seems like a perfect use for the Dial to use it with the pen and edit right on the screen of the Surface Studio. 🙂
I would like to be able to have a much more granular customization of the Develop Panel. To be able to decide the order of each sliders and tools (or group of slider in case of sliders acting on the same effect like sharpening or grain). Similarly I would like to be able to customize what slider and tools go in which module, and to create or delete modules. For example, I'd like to be able to decide I want vignetting to be in its very own module, rather than with grain in the effect panel. Or I would like to be able to create a "color" module, with color balance, vibrance, saturation, HSL. Possibilities are endless. Similarly I would like be able to place the top modules (crop, red eye, masking etc) among the other module in the scrolling pane, for example to have crop module between sharpening and transform. And to be able to "pin" any module to the top, for example pinning the curve module. Here again possibilities would be endless. Photography has very diverse genre, and mayb
I am colorblind/challenged. I see color but am unable to identify certain colors when editing i.e. brown/green, blue/purple, red/green. It makes for difficulty when doing subtle color edits or enhancements. It would be great if LR could have a feature that when the cursor or edit brush scrolled over a color in the develop panel, it read out the color for those like me who arent sure. Any thoughts on this? Thanks so much.
It seems to me that "Preview Quality" setting within Catalog Settings impacts both Standard previews and 1:1 previews. The low/medium/high setting has a very noticeable difference on the quality of 1:1 previews, and standard previews when set to "High Quality" take up about 5x more storage than standard previews when it is on "Low Quality". I use 1:1 previews to cull through my photos, and again to review every photo after making develop module edits before I export them, so I need the 1:1 previews to be the highest quality possible. However I don't care about the quality of the standard previews for every image in my catalog, and even with standard previews set to the lowest pixel size option, my previews file on my computer is still massive because I need to have the "Preview Quality" setting on High. I need my 1:1 previews to be the highest quality, but I wish there was an option for me to separately set the quality of standard previews to low in order to reduce the the stora
In Adobe Camera RAW it is possible to select only the Point Curve to copy it to other photos and it is also possible to create presets ONLY with the Point Curve (in Lightroom such presets can only be created if you DIY) This is a huge omission. Please allow to use/select Point Curve when we copy/sync settings and when we create Preset in Lightroom.
Hi, we are a big ecommerce photography studio. We are shooting thousands of clothes on model per week. It is a big problem of us that we have to export all the photos after first crop and then reimport and crop again. Here an example of what we are dealing as time consuming in our company. Lets say we have a photoshooting for ecommerce site and shooting clothes on 1 model. For eccommerce sites we setup our camera locked in one place and shooting the model as full body photo. The model at this point usually wear 2 clothes. Lets say one blouse and one pant. As explained before we are shooting full body and then we are cropping seperately the 2 clothes. To do it we have to crop one time (as full body shot) according the height of the model and then align the model in the center. Here comes the problem. To make a second crop adjustment to separate the two clothes , one for the blouse and one for the pant we have first to export the image in full resolution (create an image that does
HelloI urgently and important see the need to have a handy tool which works pretty much automatic as a background consent filter, maybe with a keystroke and with a section similar like the upright tool area. What is a consent background filter: As in so many countries there is an increasing legal requirement to have consent before anybody is on a picture it can happen that even that you get consent from a person you take a picture there are more pictures in the background.. (maybe even blurred and darker) but these people still might be good enough on the picture to be recognised.I see therefor the need to have a background - filter - crystallize process in which we can set the number of pixels as the parameter for the crystallize filter process. This background filter does not really destroy the pictures background but just change it in a way that the persons in the background usually cannot be recognised anymore..the current workflow I am using is - edit in photoshop - mark the backgro
I create 1:1 previews during import. After developing one image of a series, I copy/paste the develop settings to the rest of the series of images. The thumbnail previews update after a few seconds, but when I now zoom in to 100%, the 1:1 preview still shows the old/previous state and only now starts rendering the full preview including the pasted develop settings. Expected behaviour: after pasting develop settings, the previews should be automatically re-rendered according to the existing "quality of preview", meaning if the image had a 1:1 preview, this should be updated. Besides the awesome quick image enhancements and handy color grading in LR classic, I love the easy and accurate masking tools for objects. But it’s often required to export the image with a saved work/clipping path. I wish if we could convert the masks as a clipping path when exporting an image through LR, so the others can have the object ready to select when opening the file in Photoshop.
GPS data is a powerful tool for keeping a large dataset (over 80,000 images for me) organized. The prerequisite for this is that you have assigned GPS data to all images. This is the case with me. However, working with GPS data in LRC is very cumbersome. I can create positions in the map module. But these are only limited to the geometric figure of the circle. I can investigate which photos I have in my database within a radius of 200 or x meters of the cathedral square of Milan. I then have many needles in my circle. But I can create a collection from these images only in a roundabout way and not directly. A smart collection is not possible. This means that I always have to delete an old collection and create a current one, so that I am sure that the current images are also in the collection. Here the possibility of a smart collection would be helpful. However, the restriction to the geometric figure of the circle is very limiting. It should be possible to draw right corner and elypse
Love the auto subject detection in the new lightroom classic update. Idea: add an auto recompute feature to the subject masking when working with multiple images. Observation: I'm a wedding photographer. When working with multiple images and auto sync is turned on, all of my edits to one image are synced across all selected images. When working with the auto mask subject selection, LRC basically creates a mask "preset" for the visible image but won't apply that "preset" to all other images until you manually select the "recompute subject" button on the mask pannel. Why not have LRC do this automatically across all selected images? Seems like a nice improvement.
What adobe has done for masking people where it allows you to select people and then sellect the person/orpeople and check the boxes for different parts to create seperate masks is fantiastic. I think it would be really helpfull if the created something similar for landscapes. It would be most usfull if it did sky-highlights-shadows (Seperate masks). Mountains-highlights-shadows (Seperate masks). Ocean-highlights-shadows (Seperate masks). Rockface-highlights-shadows (Seperate masks). Seastacks-highlights-shadows (Seperate masks). Lakes-highlights-shadows (Seperate masks). Windmills-highlights-shadows. Roads/tracks-highlights-shadows (Seperate masks).
Please make a keyboard shortcut in Lightroom for making a Collections Set
Hello, In the current version of Lightroom Classic, the GPS track used to geolocate the photos is limited to 50.000 points. It is not enough in 21e century. The modern watches are able to take the GPS position every seconds. In that case 50.000 points correspond to 14 hours only ! For the modern outdoor endurance activities like ultra-trail running, mountaineering and even long hikes it is not sufficient. Please, extend the Lightroom Classic capacity in order to accept at least 40 hours of such a activity (UTMB like ultra-trail) = 150.000 GPS points. BR, Maciek
In order to accomodate varied size and position of image captured by camera scanning, use the new object mask feature in Lightroom Classic to select the individual image then have a crop-straighten feature to crop out the over scan. Adding a crop feature to the Mask options? This would enable a preset to be made to batch crop multiple size image/camera scans. Wow. Good luck and many thanks on all the incredible new features. Sincerely, Evelyn
The Transform panel AI in Lightroom Classic needs more training on how to spot vertical lines in architectural images. If there is AI involved with using "Auto", "Vertical", or "Full" buttons to fix the upright appearance of an image, it needs to be trained further to identify existing vertical lines better for more consistent results. App version 12.1 OS Ventura 13.0.1 Steps to reproduce: Using the vertical, auto, or full buttons in the transform panel on architectural images with multiple parallel vertical lines. Expected results: Using the vertical, auto, or full buttons would transform the images so the vertical lines in the image are parallel with the lines in the grid overlay. Actual results: Vertical lines in images are often not parallel to the grid overlay requiring manual guided drawing out of lines and updating the transform for more accurate alignment. This impacts my workflow because I spend 5-8 hours a week manually correcting the vertical alignm
We should be able to compare a series of images in survey view and still be able to use all the tools in the develop module to modify them. We now only have access to the library quick tools, and they are not very useful.
Issue: Empty nested subfolders are triggering the “Import dialog” when adding new folders to the catalog. Lightroom Classic Version Number: 12.2.1 OS Version Number: macOS Ventura 13.2.1 Steps to reproduce: 1: Click the + (plus) icon on the Folder panel, 2: Select “Add Folder” and navigate too and select the desired folder. Expected result: 1: If the selected folder is empty, Lightroom will simply add it to the Folder panel, along with any subfolders. 2: If there are media files in the folder, LrC displays the “Import dialog” so that you can take advantage of options such as applying metadata or develop presets as you import the files in the folder. 3: If there are no media files, but there are empty subfolders within, they should just be added to the folder panel without invoking the import dialog feature. Actual result: Results are as expected except for the 3rd condition above. LrC is seeing subfolders as files and invokin
Since I have different customers and output needs I want to have a hierarchy of export presets. e.g.: customers>customerA>preset1 right now I have tons of folders on the first level which is more difficult to scroll trough. Please add folder support for export presets.
I believe the slideshow module could be improved. In my opinion, MP4 videos or PDF files alone aren't sufficient for creating great slideshows. Instead, I propose that Adobe creates a new companion app, which I'll refer to as "PhotoPlay," that works seamlessly on all Adobe-supported platforms and allows users to play their slideshows. Lightroom's slideshow module should export a curated playlist file that includes all the settings for slideshow playback with PhotoPlay. The slideshow module should include sections for: Background Image display and effects Transition effects Text display Background music To ensure a seamless experience, the slideshow images should be sourced directly from the user's Lightroom Classic library. A great way to accomplish this would be through the use of collections or smart collections. By utilizing collections, users can easily select and organize their preferred images, while smart collections offer the added benefit of automatically
It would be great if Lightroom came with an easy and quick way to give an option to MERGE ALL duplicate keywords. Right now I am using a hierarchy of Alphabet listing so I don't hit the limit of keywords that make them not show on the list. But that brings new problems like when one keyword is already inside one hierarchy (lets say letter A) and you have the same world outside it, you cannot drag them inside the hierarchy because the same keyword exists already there. So suddenly you have the same word in multiple places. It might be useful for some limited things, but in my case I would like to merge that keyword into one and not have them scattered in or out of my alphabet hierarchy. There is a slow a cumbersome method to solve that as explained in Lightroom Queen, but it would take weeks in my case to fix all the keywords. Please Adobe solve all the Keywords issues that you are dragging now for years without any path. Thank you.
Cuando seleccionamos las fotos desde la biblioteca ¿Hay alguna manera de recortar directamente desde la biblioteca .... sino estaria bien esa opción
Dear Lightroom-Team, please add the feature that when you select a rating filter, Lightroom will not jump to the first image in the catalog but to the closest image, which matches the rating criteria. Short explanation: If I set the filter for "Photos rated 1-star", all images with 1-star will be displayed. If at this moment I display an image that is rated with 1-star, exactly this image will continue to be displayed. However, if I show an unrated image and then set the filter, LR shows me all images with "1-star" and at the same time jumps to the FIRST image in the selection that has 1-star. If I have 5000 images in a project collection, am working in about the middle of the collection and now set a filter, LR automatically jumps to the START of the collection and I have to go back to the middle of the collection and find my last image I was working on - super annoying. It would be great if there was a setting for this so that I can determine for myself whether the closest or the fir
