First of all thanks for bringing character and paragraph styles to Photoshop CS6. This will boost the productivity of us user interface designers quite a bunch. However it would be even better, if we also had object styles... similar to the ones in InDesign. I guess enhancing the already existing "Styles" panel with an option to manage and edit styles would definitely suffice :) Thanks, Wolfgang
Hey guys,we are using the nicely integrated library in Ps, Ai and Id in our agency, but we would be happy if there will be the possibility to create sub-categories for the main categories. It is a little bit confusing when the library is filled with lots of colors, texts and graphics, so a little bit organization would be neat 🙂
Restore the Resolution box for the standard crop tool. Taking this away was not a good idea and adds to the workflow. Also would give consistency with the perspective crop tool which indeed does have the Resolution Box
Photoshop 2014 CC 2.2 upgrade has removed the outline type from the clipping path name and replaced it with a slightly bolder name. This is more difficult to determine at a glance if the path is or is not a clipping path. Please revert to the former outlined type, or make it much bolder.
First of all, the new Linked Smart Objects feature in Photoshop CC (14.2) is just so cool 🙂 Here my suggestions to enhance Smart Objects: • Add Import Options to choose which Layer(s) or Layer Comp you want to show in this "instance". • This instance need to be like a placed PSD inside InDesign, I mean independent to other instances of the same placed PSD. • Right+Click on the SO layer to edit the options after the importation. • Regarding Illustrator SO, add the option to select one specific Artboard like in InDesign. Here a video to explain the details of my request: https://vimeo.com/84398033 (PW: request) That could be, for me, a game changer for Graphic Design or Webdesign. What do you think about that idea?
In different projects I use different grids (20 to 2, 18 to 2, etc.) and every time I have to configure the grid settings for certain project. It is very inconvenient. I suggest to use your own settings grid for every .PSD file (like a Guides now) Best regards, Alex
This is one i'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to see... Smart Objects are great. The problem is that if i do a bunch of scaling, i'd like to know if i am scaling past 100% of the original size of the image that i made a smart object from. I have no way of knowing that. My wish is this: If you make a layer into a Smart Object, and scale it, the scaling percentage remains 'sticky' in the transform tool options bar. So if i scale it down to 86%, the next time i hit the transform tool, the scaling percentage starts at 86%. Right now, if i scale it down to 86%, and hit transform again, it is back at 100%.
After splitting my 3D text, I cannot edit the single letters anymore: the "Edit Source" button merely no longer work. Any idea? Photoshop CC 14.2.1. MacBook Air Mac OSX 10.8.5
This is about Photoshop 12.1 x64 under Windows 7.Our designers use MacOS. Our developers use Windows 7. Every time our developers open any single file sent from our designers, Photoshop throws up a modal dialog stating "Some text layers contain fonts that are missing. These layers will need to have the missing fonts replaced before they can be used for vector based output".This doesn't just appear the first time you open any file like this. This doesn't just appear once per session. This doesn't just appear once per file. This doesn't just appear once when you open several files at once. This appears every time the user opens every file. There is no option to turn it off or never see it again, under Preferences or on the Dialog itself. The dialog does not appear briefly and go away after a set period of time. The notice does not appear in a status bar. This dialog has persisted for months and shows no signs of disappearing from the program by itself. The following should be noted: Photo
Layer Compositions are very handy to manage huge amounts of layers in one file e.g. if your working on screen interface layouts. You work on your layout, save this arrangement of visible/invisible layers in a Layer Composition and you can work straight away on the next screenlayout with a different arrangement of layers in another Layer Composition. Additionally Photoshop has the great feature of Image Slices. You cut your document in smaller assets and export them in one single step. This works great together with Layer Compositions. As soon as you have lots of overlapping Slices, it becomes a mess and is very painful. You have to arrange them new, you don't see them, because they are in background and so on... So here is the simple, but timesaving idea: Add Slice Compositions that work exactly like Layer Compositions. Or better and simpler: Combine Slice Compositions to Layer Compositions. Simply save the arranged slices in a Layer Composition. This feature could become
I know photoshop comes with many options for arranging multiple windows, like tile view, side by side view ect. And you can move the windows in practically any way you want. However you cannot seem to stack windows in a triangle style fashion. (one big window at the bottom, and two windows side by side at the top). I would find this useful because my long landscape pictures can be at the bottom, and two reference images can be stacked at the top next to each other. This style of window stacking would be great for landscape style long horizontal image editing.
I'd like the gradient stop I'm adding to assume the colour that's already there. Is there a way to do so that I overlooked? If not: I'll change it later, the gradient can start out with my fore- and background colour, so I won't be needing those while I'm editing it. Noel Carboni made a better image than me, href="https://d37wxxhohlp07s.cloudfront.net..."> - in this thread over at the photoshop forums: http://forums.adobe.com/message/37234... Still, here's mine <a Many thanks!
This is something especially important in automotive retouching. Anybody who ever tried to replicate a motion blur taken in-camera knows this problem: The blur in camera starts out thin and then fans out... almost impossible to replicate, right? Or worse... in a rig shot, it follows the curve of the road...ick! How about these two options: You start by drawing a path with your pen tool and then the motion blur gives you the option to select "follow path" and will curve your blur to match your drawing. Same applies for drawing a shape. Use your pen tool to draw a rough outline of your curved street and the motion blur gets calculated to follow the movement and fanning-out of the shape.
We want it ASAP!!! best regards.
In Photoshop's Timeline, when the Timeline Shortcut Keys are activated, the Up and Down arrows are used to move to the In point and Out point of the current layer. When you record yourself using those keys, Photoshop record it as a Go To action to a specific time, and not to the In point/Out point of the current layer. Having this key properly recordable would solve many, many problems for the creation of very useful actions for animation with Video Groups. For example: + An action that flips through layers (Next Frame, Prev Frame), no matter the lenght of those layers. (In animation, sometimes a frame has to be hold for 3 frames, then the next one for 2 frames. They vary for better timing) + An action that creates a New Layer (New Frame) that is one frame long, no matter the framerate of the document + An action that would direct the playhead to the beginning of a newly created Layer. Otherwise, is there a way to access the code of these Up/Down arrow keys to chuck it in a scrip
I'd like to see the pen tool in Photoshop function like in Illustrator where you can hold down the spacebar and move a point while you're drawing it out.
I'd love to see a Noise slider in the Gradient Overlay Layer Style. I always like a touch of noise in my gradients to break them up a bit. Currently you can't use gradient overlays if you want to add noise, you've got to create layers. A noise slider would streamline a great many files.
There is no way to set top left as the default transformation point for all transformations in a document. I design websites and I usually only need to resize with a reference point at the top left to keep the x/y location of the objects top left corner constant.
I'd like to see a preview of the text/paragraph styles i've created, so that i can easily select the style i desire to use. It's easier to say: 'Oh i really like that purple heading, i want that applied to layer x.' rather than 'What header was the purple one again?' Quick and dirty example below:
Please please please add sub pixel aliasing to fonts! When creating a mock UI I can never make it look great, especially when working with body text / smaller fonts.
I'm usually not the one to complain about visual changes to software, but with a power tool such as Photoshop, such changes need to be very well thought out and crafted. With Photoshop CS6, I don't think that is the case. I feel the layers palette was much easier to scan in CS5, because the icons and the separating lines are much better defined. In CS6, they all blend into the background of the layers palette and the separating lines between layers in the layer palette, while slightly less subtle and more prominent, are really just more distracting than helpful. I think the lines between layers in CS5 layers palette was much easier to scan and it worked really well with many nested groups (where the white part of the line to the left indicated (roughly) the position of the layer within groups). As someone who works with documents that can have thousands of layers, this change is really quite painful. Something like the layers palette should always be optimized for very fast scanning
Dear Sirs. I work a lot with Photoshop Cs and find the following thing could be imporved/changed, it is easy to work and will cause less mistakes/errors while working. When busy with artwork and one wants to add a couple of guides "New Guide" everytime you want to add one more Guide, the pre-set has gone back to Vertical. Mostly when doing guides, you do all the horizontal ones and then the vertical onses, so that means each time you add a new guide, you have to really concentrate: do I need vertical or horizontal. It would be much easier if the preset kept the setting of the last choise. So if i add a new Guide and I choose Horizontal, then when I do another New guid, the preset should still be at horizontal. If you speak to people who use this a lot, they will confirm this. I do not request money for this tip, a new version of photoshop CS 5.1 would not be rejected though! Kind regards Frits van Diermen. I've run into situations where I need to make a merged copy of all of the raster layers, but want to exclude the effects of the adjustment layers. It would be great to have this functionality similar to the clone tool's ability to exclude adjustment layers from the sample area.
I do a lot of web page layouts with Photoshop. Sometimes i'm in the situation where I actually need to change the colors of some of the layers to inverse. It is really disturbing to open the color selector multiple times for all of the layers and click the colors, or pasting the HEX. I would just like to press "CTRL + I" to inverse colors of all the selected layers. Also I would like paste, or drag and drop the colors straightly into a shape layer from swatches without opening the color selector tool.
