Feature Requests

Hi,Would be great to separate the timeline raster (9x16) from the output (Mercury transmit) raster in 16x9. Like multiple people, we are working with 9x16 sequences, but those sequences can't be output through a Blackmagic or Aja IO card to a regular monitor. In Davinci Resolve, there is 2 distincts setting that allow users to do this. First the sequence ratio, in our case 9x16. And you can then select your output ratio, in our case 16x9. So we are working in a 9x16 sequence but the software is able to show the sequence in a 16x9 monitor by rescaling it. I'm a postproduction integrator and that's a highly requested feature that user are asking me day after day.

In the effects control window we can limit the playback to the selected clip while only playing audio.Please make this also possible with video ( or video+audio)Most of the time you set video keyframes in this panel.It's then very annoying that you lose the pointer because it's goes on to the next clip.This also happens when you drag a keyframe to the end of the selected clip.... So myIdea- when effectscontrol window is active limit playback to the selected clip (pref setting)(or use the audio button also for video)- when timeline is selected play everything

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with the El Zone System app talked about here. I simply want to have it integrated into P.P. to aid in the pre & post production process.  I have recently discovered the power of the app called, "EL Zone System" developed by Cinematographer Ed Lachman and would like to see if others can help bring attention to this so we can have it in premier pro. More specifically, in the lumetri workspace. Below is a brief glimpse:  In short, the El Zone Stems is similar to the false color feature found in Premier Pro and other monitoring tools that helps identify differing areas of brightness. Although, it is a lot easier to distinguish & communicate the lighting contrast ratios like the key to fill ratio or key to background ratio for example compared to the false color tool. You can read more about this app here which has been adopted by many suppliers and end users already. On important stage this can be used in for us P.

I have this iPhone-recorded clip, shot in darkness with the native Camera app and set to 4K 30fps, Auto FPS on.Therefore, I expect this clip to be 24fps.The metadata of the file says:Frame rate mode : Variable Frame rate : 25.978 FPS Minimum frame rate : 24.000 FPS Maximum frame rate : 30.000 FPSPremiere Pro reports the frame rate of the clip as 25.97, which is in the file, but Resolve and FCP both bring this in as 24fps, which is what I expect.Are Resolve and FCP using the Minumum Frame rate from this file? Seems like it, and it is "more correct" I argue since the Camera app settings will definitely lead me to expect this to be a 24 frame clips.All this leads me to think Premiere Pro is choosing the wrong frame rate in this situation. If I create a new sequence from this clip that sequence is going to be or is going to encourage me to make it also 25.97, and who is served by having a 25.

When I video to the essential graphics tab it always starts at the beginning of the video, can you make it so we can set in points on the video.   [title and text edited by mod]

Here to Vent because I've been using Premiere for 3ish years daily, and on and off for 5 more than that. I want to be able to set up a personalized default (channel volume, sequences on start, bins, etc.)2I NEED to be able to save custom caption settings that automatically start there OR have multiple saved so I can pick it at the beginning of project (no just save in project)I should be able to have all caption tracks visable, don't force me to pick one, i know what I'm doing let me use them all These are my main issues that I rage about every day of my life, maybe I haven't found a way to do these things so If they're fixed please let me know!  P.S. Paying monthly and not being able to own is going to make me switch programs.

Please, add Polish language recognize for text editing and transcribe in Adobe Premiere Pro.  Thank you.

Is it possible to change default text background parametrs? I need to change background of a lot of allready existing titles and if it would be possible to set default parameters, it wold make my life much easier

I am using a 1dx mk 2 canon camera. I use it at the moment to shoot vertical video, when i import the video to the program it is not flipped vertically, so manually you have to flip each clip & scale it, or add an adjusement layer to do the same with a transform effect. - - - - This however dosent work well since you can't see the changes in the editing window so you get a really hurt neck for viewing all the vertical video horizontally. - - - - Feature fixes: 1. simply make a forced vertical mode, so that even video recorded(or video recorded that wasnt specified vertical) can be treated as such in the raw imported files. 2. make it possible to use effects in the editing window directly. / Want to see your videos with a speciel effect before adding it to the timeline? want to change the aspect ratio to see if it fits with the current video? The editing window basicly becomes a 2nd editing choise that you could save different from the main timelin

 There are no shortcuts for these useful options for many years. This'll greatly speed up the work.

As the title suggests, I'd like to be able to format substrings of a template italic or bold. So far, we have to use workarounds. 

There should be an option to remove all the transitions without deleting the sequence

I'm not sure if there are a lot of posts like this but I find the Timeline Playback Auto-Scrolling feature very useful. Incorporating the Page Scroll and the Smooth Scroll in my workflow helps with my efficiency and editing style, switching from one after the other. However, this feature is buried too deep in the Preferences > Timeline > Timeline Playback Auto-Scrolling. It's way too tedious for me to go there every single time to switch.  This feature should be easily accessible in the Timeline panel itself as a button to toggle or even better, allow us to put this in the Keyboard Shortcuts, which you cannot find it still.  I hope Adobe listens and puts this one in as I'm sure would help a lot of other professionals.   [text edited for better viewing, mod]

Hello Community!   Versions should be backward compatible with previous major versionsWhy? Having a feature that would give an editor backward compatibility for Premiere Pro projects from one major version back to another would be a major savings in time and hassle when receiving legacy projects from others.   Creating this idea on behalf of the community. I wondered if adding a feature that could slice the audio tracks to the start & end points of video clips would be possible. Then delete the sliced clips that have no video laid on top of them. What it looks like before the desired effect.What it looks like with the desired effect.

Hey everyone, I have a pretty quick idea for a request. I learned to read histograms for color in Lightroom, which uses a horizontal histogram, however when I'm doing light color grading in Premiere, the histogram is only available in vertical. Obviously it still works, but it would speed me and I'm sure others up if we were able to reorient it. Thanks!

a small request that no one will care about but I find myself doing this over and over. i want to be able to click where the red marks are instead of clicking on the checkbox to the right of the header first. when I click the time, or a slider for example, i want to use that feature, so it should enable itself when i go to make that change. 

As an active Premiere Pro user, I frequently utilize Mogrt files to enhance my videos with graphical highlights. However, when clients request small changes (e.g. the color of a graphic), it becomes time-consuming to adjust each one individually.It would be great to have the ability to modify multiple instances of the same Mogrt simultaneously. This would drastically improve workflow efficiency by allowing users to make bulk adjustments quickly and seamlessly.Thank you for considering this enhancement. I believe it would greatly benefit Premiere Pro users who rely on Mogrt animations for their projects.

I refer from using nests a lot since they make it an extra step to edit the footage within, which is a loss since they help keeping a clean and organised edit timeline. In after effects we can hide layers we don't want to use, but I think there is an even better thing in-between, let's call them condense layers for now.  These layers would look and behave like a nest normally but when the uncondense button is pressed the ammount of set video/audio lines fold out where the layer is located making it very easy to edit these! And then again with the press of a button these would fold in again and be simple, clean and effective parts of our workflows! Let me know if you got any additions to this idea.  

Hopefully I am missing something simple. I need precise control of Lumetri points on curves and cursor-indicator position in color wheels. The mouse is not going to cut it, no matter how big I scale the interface. The Premiere GUI for effects is just not granular enough.  Is there a way to nudge these points via the keyboard? What settings?Is there a way to do direct numeric entry? Can either or both be done in the traditional effects parameters panel or the Lumetri workspace? Other platforms have this same issue with GUI precision but they do give you the ability to nudge or enter parameters numerically while in color correction modes.  Thanks.CammatadorPP 23.0 / Win11/ i7 11700K/ RTX 4080 / 128GB PP 23.0 / MacOS Ventura / M1 Ultra Studio / 64GB

When I use the Type Tool I constantly have to set it to center align text, because the default is right align. I am wondering whether it is possible to have it center align as default?It would save me a ton of time. Thanks a lot.  

Sometimes, I find myself wanting more versatility with the Effects Presets that I'm using. Utilizing them in an adjustment layer can certainly enhance their potential, but the current process to achieve this involves a considerable number of clicks.  Wouldn't it be convenient if simply dragging an effect from the Effects Panel onto an empty track automatically converted it into an adjustment layer? This functionality, already present in software like Filmora and CapCut, streamlines the workflow remarkably and enhances user experience. 

As a rule I keep all or most of my audio tracks in my timeline while I am cutting, but often I don't need all the tracks of a particular clip to be heard all the time or only portions of the track need to be heard in my offline version of the mix. The fastest way for me to turn those tracks off is to enable/disable them using a keyboard shortcut. However when sending a film to sound via AAF or OMF, disabled tracks show up as enabled and become part of the mix, which is misleading for the sound department. I would like the sound department to have these tracks to access in their mix but I don't want to hear them in my offline cut. I would like a simple keyboard shortcut that will take a selected audio track/tracks in the timeline and set the volume to 0db with one keystroke. This would save so much time in finishing and make everyone's life easier. Thank you! 

Adobe Premiere Pro 2024MacOS VenturaI've been a Senior Director/Editor for 23 years and counting. My specialty is large multicam shows. I often have between 30 and 45 sources... As you always have to keep up with technology, I now master Premiere and Resolve as well as Media Composer.Problem:With so many cameras, it's vital for me to see if the balance in my choices is right, to quickly spot a particular camera directly on my timeline, etc... In Avid Media Composer, I can see all the cameras with their labels. Not in Premiere, and that drives me crazy.Feature request:I would like this function to be available as soon as possible on Premiere, it's a no brainer.I'm attaching two screenshots. A Premiere milticam and an Avid multicam. A picture is worth a thousand words, so for me it's not even a question of whether this function should be added...If you're like me, share, share, share!
