My Timeline has died! As I try to drag the playhead along the timeline, the drag is displaying in the monitor, but not moving in the timeline panel. I can't select any clips or zoom in either. It has got its blue outline, and when I select another panel, that gets the outline but the timeline stays outlined too!The interesting thing is; as soon as I click 'Window' in the menu ribbon, it suddenly catches up to where I swept to and zoomed on.I was working on a new project for about 5hrs with no problems, then I duplicated my sequence in the media box, and it all went wrong!!

I don't know what it's called... I've tried numerous times to pin down exactly what it's called; it's NOT the trim window, but the trim window like display that appears when you use the rolling edit tool... it often causes a HUGE lag in the project that I have to wait for to clear just to keep working... which is ULTRA annoying considering I get this spit edit video appear even when I'm rolling the audio around. This seems like something new (and annoying), how can I turn this off when I don't want to see it? Like especially when I'm just EDITING AUDIO???!!?? One thing I learned about while looking for an answer is an old abandoned shortcut "e" which used to be "expand to playhead," which you can still assign in the keyboard shortcuts, I now have it assigned to Shift+E, that way I can automatically move an edit in a roll like fashion to the playhead.... but still... how about a way to turn off the annoying split screen I'm not looking at 90% of the time?

Transparent Video Clips suddenly started behaving differently today in PPro 2023. I used to be able to duplicate and use duplicates in a timeline and each clip used to be a separate distinct clip with it's own name and characteristics (which did not appear in a project - like titles do not appear). Now, suddenly all have started behaving as if they are are instances of a master clip - change one name and it renames all instances.Where can I get information on when this was changed and how?R.

In avid sequence we can choose from any v or a track source timecode/aux tc, rather than master, to be the timecode that a numeric entry will go to.This is particularly useful with stringout or selects sequences in the source monitor.

On memory settings, the option for selecting MEMORY or PERFORMANCE is no more (Premiere 23.1.1.) Worst yet, If you have chosen MEMORY in the previous Premiere version, you are locked in that selection and can't select performance again. Only if you reinstall the previous version does the option of changing the memory settings appears again, and you can change it to wherever you want, but if you upgrade, the option disappears again. Also, the media Encoder is Buggy; It won't render the colors I configure in my project at all, so I'm stuck rendering directly from Premiere PRO, so no batch renders for me.

Every year or so I blow my ears out by accidentally pumping audio gain 90db or 110db. It's human error, but I think there needs to be a safety warning (even if that warning is optional in preferences) when adjusting audio gain by very large volumes. I'll explain my situation:When working on audio I'm likely to working on the gain of clips and speed of clips in the timeline. (For example, changing a SFX to 110% so it sounds slightly different to another instance of it) Occasionally I'l hit the gain hotkey instead of the speed hotkey and unwittingly type 90 or 110. This causes playback to be so loud my hands fly to my headphones and knock them off my head before I know what's happened.

Please provide the option to automatically highlight the speech word by word when the speaker is talking. Also please provide the option to add animations to the text like Kapwing.

every time you add new files to the source folder on your laptop, instead to import manually into the bins on premiere, it eould be great to refresh them and it automaticcally adds what is missing. does it make sense?

It would be great if the tool or audio meter window could be sized just once, locked and glued to another window like the project timeline. Somehow I find myself frequently resizing a 3" wide audio meter or 3" wide tool window in order to get the project timeline maximized in size.No editor prioritizes sizing of his audio meters or tools window over his project timeline while editing. Please offer a way to set, glue and forget.

This is such a simple thing to do in any other tool (that I can think of at least). All I want to do is copy text from one text layer (A) to another layer (B) while ignoring the text attributes of (A). Basically I just want to paste "plain text". The button editor does not save my changes. Every time I reopen Premiere Pro I have to constantly open the button editor and drop the multicam button into the GUI. This started with the latest version.

Unfortunately with Adobe Premiere Pro 2023 I cannot stretch an image anymore without it freezing. The only way to fix it is by restarting the application all together.

So I’m going to cut it short. If Adobe doesn’t implement timeline and output colour profile options I will have to switch to Davinci. Youtubers are complaining about this, everybody’s complaining about this that it’s a fact when one gets an export from an Premiere, Media Encoder or After Effects because of the colour tag it looks washed out. It was QuickTime at first so I ignored it but now almost all platforms are sensitive to whether a video file is HD 1-1-1 or 1-2-1 and simply put videos coming from Adobe products look grey. And if Adobe think we’re going to keep using their products when the environment is lightyears ahead and there’s a very well established programme like Davinci exists in which you can choose literally any colour space I want, they’re wrong.

Is it it possible to set "File Directory" as default when using Media Browser in Premiere Pro?

When I ingest ProRes source footage from an Arri camera, I do NOT want there to be a LUT auto-applied. Add an option in Premiere to disable the auto-lut.I am familiar with the Interpret Footage > Color Management > Input LUT workaround. I work on projects with ~1200 Arri clips every two weeks... constantly using this workaround is not a good use of my time.
