By default the left and right arrow keys with the alt key held down have an application wide shortcut to trim and a timeline shortcut to nudge clip selection. When an edit is selected Premiere trims as expected and when a clip is selected it nudges properly. I wanted to change this functionality so that instead of a nudge I would get a slide. But changing the timeline shortcut from nudge to slide causes the trim functionality to cease working. Please allow the "Slide clip selection" shortcuts to replace the "nudge clip selection" shortcuts while maintaining the same trim functionality.
When I am working with keyframes, it is seemingly impossible to zoom in close enough to work accurately. Sometimes I am able to zoom in somewhat close but it wont be center and if I try to use the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom and it lauches me into a whole other area where there are no keyframes. This is on a one-screen layout, such as the Effects or Editing Workspaces. I can be more accurate if I move the Effects control Panl onto another screen but even then, I would still like to be able to zoom in further. Love you.
I don't understand why on Earth Adobe would think that if we're working in another program and Premiere autosaves that we would want Premier to take over the computer, and bring the "saving" progress bar front and center to interrupt our work. PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP...if I have Premier hidden, for the love of concentration, KEEP IT HIDDEN!And, on the subject of interruptions, pretty please stop putting your dang survey up at launch. Sometimes I launch a project and walk away to let it load, and then, there are those times I come back only to find your freak'n survey stopped the process—or stopped a export in Encoder. It's time to start putting more thought into your UX. Also, another interruption. When you do your darn updates I have to re-link all my dynamic links, re-render too. Another horrendous example of neglecting UX.
I have two dynamic link AE comps linked together so I can drag them on the timeline easier, but I noticed once updating to Premiere 2022 that even if I option-click the comp on the higher track, it swaps to the Source of the bottom comp when I try and edit my text in the Edit Controls panel. As soon as I click on the Source tab in Effects controls, both of the tabs change to the bottom track comp. This issue was not present in Premiere 2021 and I was able to edit the comps individually without having to unlink them. Thanks!
i can't record at a specific location - when i start to reord, the recording needles goes right back to the start - real stupichow can it be fixed
We need to access Caption through the scripting API of Premiere Pro to be able to push the data to translation services and put back the translated caption on the CC tracks .When this will ppossible ?
1. Running Premiere version 22.6.32. Computer is running Windows 10 Pro. So here is my conundrum. I work in Premiere with dual monitors. Occasionally I need to move both Premiere windows into one monitor (usually right to left). During export in previous versions of Premiere, a separate dialogue box would pop up allowing you to chose your options. While open it wouldn't let you navigate to any other windows in Premiere, right? Right. In the latest versions of Premiere, the new export window no longer comes up as a dialogue box over top of all other screens, but still keeps the "no touchy other screens" deal. SO, if you are unfortunate enough to forget that and try to export via hot keys while the right side window is over the left side window, you are trapped. Escape key will not work. My only option is to navigate to File & then quit just to re-open the project...if I am lucky enough to have not also covered that up with the other window. I've had to resort to force quitting
Developers, we need your help. Hopefully enough other media professionals will ask for these improvements, but in the meantime I'd like to list a few off the top of my head. Macros: We need them, in-app. Whether they're called actions, scripts, macros... I perform many tasks repeditively, especially when cutting a-rolls. For example: add edit/ select clip at playhead/ ripple delete/ apply audio transition/ step back many frames/ play-stop toggle. That's 6 keystrokes that can be done with one action key. Let's get an upvote on this please.
Add Shortcut "Solo Audio Track 1, 2, 3, ...": There's a lot of mouse clicking to solo tracks around here. Most of my media comes in with 4-6 tracks of various microphone sources. Clip by clip I have to solo them to find which channel I want to cut with. Can we add keyboard shortcuts so I can AB these sources much faster?
Why do I not have the ability to make a new folder in the import tab? This is some simple 101 UI ability. Instead I have to go into Windows Explorer to make a new folder from there. Super annoying and it has been like this since you changed to the Import/Edit/Export tabs. I just cant understand why these "bugs" doesent get fixed. Dont you have meetings discussion your software interface? Arent you using your own software?
Adobe might consider this an "idea" but guys, it's a BUG, and one that should have been taken care of decades ago. Premiere automatically adds 1 frame before the out point when you set an out point. WHY?!?!??! I've been using Premiere for 15 years for national commercials, and every time I export I have to bump in on the timeline to make sure that I physically move the end point, because if I just hit "O", it adds a frame. Please guys, this is one of those silly little changes that should be addressed easily. At the VERY least it should be a preference option. One more reason to start playing with Davinci I guess, as if we needed more...
Since updating to the latest version 23.01, audio files will generate new peak files every 5 minutes or so. I understand to let them generate when importing footage and placing it on your timeline at first but this is happening constantly and it's slowing down the workflow.
It would be great if the latest version of Pp supported importing a Photoshop file with separate layers. This was a great feature that Adobe should restore along with the ability easily create and manipulate text graphics. It seems with each update, Pp use experience is downgraded. I am definitely editing my next project on Resolve.
That's what I need a stupid computer for: after I finished an edit with many tracks I would like to reduce this timeline to have just the clips which play a role into the final video - of course by creating a copy of the sequence. This would reduce the size of the consolidated project a lot. It's a huge difference to archive all the clips exissting in a sequence (standard consolidation) or if you save all the clips which are really "visible" in the final video. That would save a lot of time and disk-space. Especially editing of concerts produces a lot of material, during editing I have several tracks (I don't like multi-cam-editing) but I wish I could clean up by clicking a button 🙂
Segment Timeline Shuttle: Made that up. Often times moving one frame/ audio unit, many frames/ audio units, or to next edit, next edit on selected track or moving to next marker does not get me to where I want to be on the timeline. Can we have a new big idea about how to move around in the timeline? My fingers don't like the long loney trek over to the number keypad either. I want to step back in the timeline in defined segments of time. 'Step back many' is used constanly in my workflow, but sometimes you want to get crazy and step back 'mighty.' In short, don't lose the 'step back many' feature, but we need a secondary option for how far to travel the timeline. Example of how I would use this. I set my 'Step Back Many' default to 18 frames, I do an edit, hit the Step Back Many Button and watch it and move on. I might also want to verify how it feels in context leading up to it, so I want to step back 18 seconds. I would have
Secondary Default (Audio) Transition: When cutting dialog and sound effects all day, I constantly apply a 2 frame audio fade to everything... but every once in awhile I try to get artsy and want to put a smooth long fade on some music. I need to take my lazy bones off the ol' keyboard, grab the mouse and set it right where I want it and click the ol' "Apply Default Audio Transition From Playhead" button. But, if we had a secondary default audio transition we could add, then things would get fast around here. These hands we build for shortcuts. You get the point.
Apply Mouse Click at Play Head: If I want to make room for an edit I am performing, I commonly use the 'Track Select Forward Tool" by grabbing a bunch of media and pushing it down the timeline. I can activate this tool with a keystroke, then I have to grab the mouse to designate what I want it to select, then I can go back to the keyboard to move / nudge the selected clips. If I didn't have to grab the mouse, I could work more efficiently. Trust me, it would save at least .08 seconds, and I need that time as I'm getting very old with soft hints of grey peering through this beard of mine.
When wanting to make lo-fi exports, it is impossible to achieve certain exports with file size requirements. And when dealing with the slide regulating the mbps, Premiere automatically rounds the result.
For example if I highlited one word out of a big text block and dragged a text style onto that text block, it should then only apply the style to that one word. Or/And another idea that I would like to see... Text color copy/pasting, I want to be able to copy one color (even a gradient one) and then just highlight text and paste the color onto it without having to go to the graphics tab and then pasting the color hex code.
Hi in December 2021 release of premiere pro, you promised us that "Automatic universal text engine support for older Motion Graphics templates will be added in a future release." But till now not been implemented
hi adobe i have a question, would you support 10 bit h.264 decoding on windows 11 in the future with intel 13th processors quick sync.thanks adobe
Screen recording programs save the source in a higher - quality format .MKV than .MP4. There is currently no support for this codec format in Pr. Its absence requires additional time in a short time to encode into a supported Pr format, which affects the convenience and speed in deadline conditions.
Please restore access to previous Export Panel WITHIN Premiere Pro. The new Export panel has an extremely frustrating UI. Hidden settings, forced fullscreen, bad layout, vastly more clicks, further mouse travel distance, the list goes on. Please give us the ability to choose the legacy Export Panel WITHIN Premiere Pro. Exporting to ME is a flawed option as it does not work consistently and oftern crashed with complicated edits and/or 3rd party plugins, where PP does not.The new Export window has made the edting workflow more difficult and frustrating. Thanks.
