Fireworks

After months of fighting and deleting my own files, I finally ran out of space on my mac (OS X 10.10.3) and was stopped dead. GrandPerspective and Disk Inventory X showed my total hard drive space at about 60GB, but GP showed "miscellaneous used space" at 180GB. Lots of forum reading and snooping around my system later, I discovered that a file called /private/var/root/Library/Logs/PDApp.log was to blame, and was in fact 185GB (out of my available HDD space of 256GB. I already know I can delete the file, but of course I don't want it happening again. I chatted with support and they told me since I use Fireworks they can't help me and to ask here.Is there some way of controlling this monster? Can I stop it? Hi. I am having problems opening several illustrator files, and pasting a vector from illustrator CS6 to fireworks CS6.If I try to open an .ai file that I normally would open just fine in fireworks CS5.x I get an error that says: " Could not open the file. An internal error occured " If i try to copy in Illustrator CS6, then paste to fireworks nothing happens.This is occuring with multiple files, that are small in size, even selecting simple vectors and pasting is not working.I tried creating a new file in Illustrator, pasting the shape from the other file, saving it, then working with that file in Fireworks, still does not work.I tried rebooting.12.0.0.236 , windows 7 ultimate x64, i7, ssd, etc..Thanks,Arthur

In the past, I used ImageReady to create an imagemap using Photoshop layers.  Is this functionality available in Fireworks?  Or is there something else?My projects usually involve maps with unique boundaries.  I used to create the layers in Photoshop and then pull up ImageReady.  I could select the roughness and ImageReady would generate all the XY coordinates for each layer.  Then I cut-and-pasted those coordinates into a webpage that included the original image.This was all lost with the "newer" versions of Photoshop.

Today i installed FW CS5, i opened two files one by one... and when i closed 2nd file (2nd file tab). I got this error like FW CS4:"An internal error occurred""An internal error occurred"what's this? any solution... ????

After installing Mountain Lion, Adobe Fireworks CS6 (12.0.0.236) now returns an error message when exporting via Image Preview.“Could Not Save File”“The File Was Not Found”However, FW CS6 save the file... how do I get the error message to go away?

I had hoped that the inability to save even the simplest documents due to a range of errors from "Unable to complete your request. An error occured", to "Not enough memory", to "Error Code 80000001) would be fixed.Adobe is completely ignoring their best design solution for mobile application design, now over 5 years!I am working on a document that has 12 42x42 icons and nothing else, still I cannot save my document half of the time. The tool is unusable as is. It is highly unstable and endangers work, not to speak about the frustration it causes me. My Fireworks hardly uses more than 300MB of memory, still hitting ctrl+s almost always results in an error. It is impossible to work longer than 30 minutes without needing to restart the tool.My version is CS6 with the Creatve Cloud.My computer is an i7 Win 7 x64 PC with 16GB of ram and a SSD disk configuration. My system is not the issue.I am highly dissapointed by Adobe once again.

I discover a problem or bug in Fireworks CS6 while ago , posted in Fireworks forum  - no answer…report it like a bug to adobe – no answer,….call to technical support,…after been on hold ,described all info, on hold again, I got answer:  report it like a bug on adobe side  and support forum ,,,,,when I told support person , that I did that already, he told me, nothing else he can do for me…I just guessing,  nobody give a s….t anymore, nowhere, and that seems to be a problem in all around us, that is why economy sucks and….. I am old enough to still remember old good times, when people still care and if you call from English speaking country, you got help speaking English.. Anyway, problem is, if you create a new document, and create a small slice in the middle, then create a hot spot bigger then that slice, and preview it in MS explorer, you will see some blue borders, frames around slices. Google Chrome or Safari is OK.You can just create only hot spot in empty doc

Hey,I really need to import/open SVG files in Fireworks CS5. I have been searching the Web for days now, but I can't find anything. The reason for this is that I get thousands of files sent to me in SVG format that I needto incorporate into my designs made in Fireworks. I solve it today by opening the files in Illustrator, copy each one of them, paste in Fireworks... WTF!So please tell me someone made this easy for me?Many thanks!

In both Photoshop and Illustrator, I am able to delete the selected part of a gradient simply by hitting the delete key. This seems to not work here, can someone tell me how to remove the aqua section from my gradient?

Do i need the CS6 Service Manager in my start up (of msconfig) to load every time my computer turns on?  I only use Fireworks as needed, and would prefer not loading lots of extra programs...Can I uncheck this?

How Do You Delete A Step with the Polygon Lasso ToolIn PS, all you have to do is hit the delete key and you can go back one step with the Polygon Lasso Tool. How do I accomplish that in Fireworks?

Hi GuysI've been getting this "out of memory" problem when working on fireworks. Not really that often but when it does occur it's annoying i have to close my open documents in FW and reopen it..When this error occurs, the elements in FW are not shown anymore i just get this boxes that say "not enough memory"Now I'd probably suspect my PC running out of RAM or something, if it wasnt for the fact that I have 8GB DDR2 1100Mhz Ram installed on my Windows 7 x64 Machine.. and I have plenty of swap disk left too.. and the fact that when this happened i'm only consumung 5GB of my 8GB tank..So could this be a FW memory handling problem?Regards

Hello, Using the Replace Color Tool, I can't find transparancy as the new color. Am I doing something wrong? If not, would there be another way to replace a color with transparancy in Fireworks? I have Fireworks 8 (and I love it). Thanks, Frank

Hello, Have upgraded to CS4 Web Premium yesterday. Everything seems to working fine except for Fireworks. When trying to load it says 'Fireworks can not be started, internal error occurred' . This always happens on the splash screen at the point 'Initializing Tools' I have tried re-installing, I have tried removed Application Data and renaming the Control Panels folder (read this somewhere as something to try) but nothing resolves the problem. At the moment I have to revert to using Fireworks CS3 which continues to work without any problems. Help! Cheers Neil

I want to rotate an image in fireworks less than 90 degrees.The way the tutorials tell me to do this is by using the free transform menu/tool. ie get hold of the picture, go to one of the corners and just above the corner is a rotate icon. Grab hold of that and rotate the image.All well and good but when I do this the rotation increments seem to be quite large (I'm guessing about 15 degrees) so in otherwords rather than being able to rotate an image ever so slightly so it lines up, I am either rotating an image too far or too little and there doesn't seem to be a way of getting it dead right. I don't think this is just because I do not have a light enough touch on the mouse- it feels like the tool only allows certain increments for the rotation. Is this a problem with the program or am I doing something wrong?

HiI was doing just fine exporting animated gifs (in terms of quality output) and all of a sudden on an update to my fireworks png my exports (no matter what options I change) are just not as good quality as before.Essentially, I am trying to get as close to the JPEG 100% quality (best quality) I can get - drop shadows on items just don't like that great at moment.Could someone please advise what is absolute optimum setting for best quality output for an animated gif - I am not concerned about file size.many thanksJeff

Just trying to get my head round the point at which you should leave Fireworks to develop in Dreamweaver (sorry, I'm a newbie).I'm working on a flowchart type diagram, where the various boxes will trigger swap images or hyperlinks to other pages.  I am drawing the chart in Fireworks, because it is clearly a lot easier to position things exactly where you want them.  As far as I am concerned, I can achieve all the functionality I need via Fireworks using hotspots and slices, but I keep reading that FW is more of a web prototyping tool, and the code it exports to DW isn't the most robust. I want to use a page layout with a top title, and a left hand nav bar, with changing page content in the remaining space.  I planned to set up the actual site with its page layout in DW, but to export the flowchart, which will be the content of the index page, from FW.  Could someone please explain to me the best practice for moving from prototyping in FW to developing in DW? &n

Hi there! Just bought FW CS4 (Mac) and everything seems fine but... I'm having many odd problems with the new text-engine. It happens when I open CS4-saved documents or just by flipping through the pages in a document. The text moves position - it looks like the text-frame itself is placed away from the original area! This bothers me BIGTIME!! And when it occurs I can't see the real edge around the "moved" text! This takes much of my precious time to fix... Is this a common problem on the Mac version? Hello, I'm trying to create 3 simple curved arrows that make up a full circle using the arrow tool in Fireworks - although I don't seem to be able to easily curve the arrows. Is this done using a path? Or is there another method that i'm missing? Would really appreciate some help. Many thanks

my cursor is shaking so badly that it makes it very difficult to do any work. I recently purchased cs3, and this is the first time I have tried doing this with this version. I really need it to work properly... any ideas? Oh, and I don't seem to be able to launch my old version.

Hi, I would like to know if I can add html to fireworks. I want to be able to add html code into a graphic I am working on. The html is for a free slide show that I want to be "inside" a graphic. I use fireworks for mygraphics and then us dreamweaver for my website. My background is in graphics and I am just learning the website stuff. Thanks for any imput.
