Hi,I need an extendscript to loop through all the files in a book and align the graphics to center.Thanks in advance.

I was looking at log files because of some FrameMaker issues and noticed an InAppMessagesFile.txt document in my Users/name/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/FrameMaker/14 folder.

New FM user here. Is there a way to make a single Paragraph tag change to Paragraph tag change in FM 2015? It looks like It should be an easy Find / Replace, except it looks like you have the option to Find a Paragraph tag, but not change to another Paragraph tag. Is there another way to just change a single P tag to another P tag? Thx.

FrameMaker version: 2017I recently had to switch to a new font that my organization provided. When I use the font in Word or Robohelp, I am able to change the font style to Bold or Italics. But, the same is not happening in FrameMaker. I checked the properties for the FM paragraph format for which I am using the font, and the Weight for the font does not list Bold nor does the Angle list Italic. It only lists Light.Any suggestions as to why this might be happening?

Hi,I have a FM book that has been updated to FM 2017 ( I assume the client created the files with FM 10 or even earlier). When updating all files within the book all cross references are ok (they are within a book file but also from one file to another). As soon as  I change to .mif and back to .fm, all cross links in some of the files are corrupted (and there are  thousands, it is a 200 page service manual). We need to use .mif for translation, but haven't even started yet as we have the problem already when changing from .fm to .mif back to .fm with the original files. Help!

My IT folks reinstalled FM, and now the Ctrl+ combos don't work. Is this a configuration problem? We've reinstalled before without issue.

Hi,   After my framemaker2017 crashed, such kind of characters "?cf"  showed when I typing simplified Chinese.   how to solve this problem?

I am using the DTLArgoT font (as required by my company's brand guidelines), but I cannot get it to italicize in the Frame 2015 document. Here is what my character designer looks like:As you can see, the Angle is Italic, but the text still looks normal in the document. I tried using Arial, and with that font the Italic angle works.  Is there a way to get this to apply to the DTLArgoT font?

Check this image out:See how the one character format has the lines extending to the edge of the page, but the one under does not?Where does one control this depth?  I cannot for the life of me figure out what governs this distance.

Hi Everyone, I have a cover page image in a word document. I have created the user manual in Framemaker. Now, I have to insert the cover page image from word document to the .book file, so that the manual can get completed. How to do that? Please help I have attached the structure for your reference. Basically, before TOC, I need to have a cover page. How to do that?

Hallo!Ich habe gerade Framemaker 2017 auf Windows 10 installiert. Bei der Installation wird auch der Distiller installiert. Wenn ich aber eine Datei oder ein Buch als PDF speichern möchte (Menü Datei -> Als PDF speichern) erscheint die Meldung "Zum Ausführen des Befehls 'Als PDF speichern' ist Acrobat Distiller 5.05 oder höher erforderlich".Im System konnte ich den Distiller nicht finden, also wurde er ohne Fehlermeldung nicht installiert!?!?Ich habe Framemaker bereits drüber installiert, neu installiert und auch eine weitere Installationsdatei verwendet. Es erscheint immer diese Meldung.Hat jemand eine Lösung?Gruß André

I think it might have to do with having conditional text with the variable hidden, the variable definition changed, and then the conditional text exposed. Even if I run Update References, the variables can remain unchanged. In such cases, I have to go through the document and manually update the problem variables. This runs counter to the usefulness of variables, of course, especially if you have a lot of them. Any ideas/suggestions?FrameMaker 13.0.3.495

In the 2019 release the save as pdf function does not work properly with automatic numbering.Text, as well as table of contents and bookmarks are numbered "1" so I get 10 chapters number 1...Is that possible to get an update to solve this issue please?[Moved from the non-technical Lounge to the specific Program forum... Hello, all.I am using FM 2015 in a Windows 10 environment. I initially thought this is a Windows problem, but my coworker who is using Windows 7 also cannot open this .chm file.I am publishing a .chm from FM 2015, using the identical files I have been working in for a year. Some time between my previous build on July 26 and the builds I have attempted today, something has changed. Now, when I select View Output, I immediately get an error message. The same thing occurs if I double-click on the .chm file in Windows Explorer. My coworker has had the same result. This is the message:Has anyone else encountered this problem? Ordered Lists mapped to Body Level styles are not always tagged when publishing HTML, Responsive or Basic. This appears related to using < =0> in autonumbering. I have FM 2017 14.0.4.511.Example: Here is a two-level list in a new FM file:There are only two styles, built from the defaults, identical except for indents and autonumbering:OL1_OrderedList1:  OL2_OrderedList2: If OL1 and OL2 are mapped to BodyLevel1 and BodyLevel2 respectively, with Convert to HTML chosen, the appearance is correct, and both list levels are tagged <ol>.However, if a forced reset of OL2 is added to OL1,then the FM formatting is still correct, but OL2 is not tagged as a list in the HTML.Here a different series letter and numbering scheme are used with OL3 mapped to BodyLevel3:OL1:     X:<R+>.\tOL2:     X:< ><A+>.\tOL3:     X:< >< ><n+>.\tIf resets are added, OL1:     X:<R+>

When generating webhelp in FrameMaker 12, file names appear in the Content list instead of the headings. In Chrome only the books appear. In IE, the books expand for only the first topic but the name of the topic shows the title for the help and not the actual heading. The content in the displayed page is fine.

I'm new to FM. how do you format page numbers in a book?

How can you import an image in the middle of a text line without forcing wider leading? We want to standardize the height of the image at a point where it fits but doesn't affect the leading. Currently the inline images seem to affect the leading before they reach the height of the text. We are using FrameMaker 2017, version 14.0.3.500.

Hi all. I'm new here and new to scripting. Been reading a lot and watching some videos but it still hasn't quite clicked. I'm am trying to write a script that will apply a hypertext marker to a specific paragraph format, and customize each marker with a specific newlink command based on the contents of the paragraph. For example, the following paragraph, which has the format CaptionFigure, would need a hypertext marker called newlink f3 to correspond with Figure F3:Figure F3. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Donec non pretiuFigure F4 will have newlink f4, Figure F5 will have newlink f5, and so on.There are sometimes up to 50 or 60 figures in a document, thus I’m looking to streamline it with ExtendScript.
