I need to insert a variable into a mailto hyperlink in a PDF doc. Static text is easy...message URL mailto:<email address>?subject=Feedback for pageClicking this in the PDF will launch the mail client with the subject of "Feedback for page" in the subject line. But I really need it to automatically populate with the current page number as well. So, I guess it's a dynamic link? Here's what I want to do but I can't get it to work....message URL mailto:<email address>?subject=Feedback for page&<$curpagenum>I've tried it witht he brackets removed and without the dollar sign. Both times the variable is just ignored. Anyone done this? Thoughts? Is this even possible?

I see that I can define an XSL processor to run my pre/post processing stylesheet in the structapps.fm.The FrameMaker 12.0 developer reference offers XALAN or SAXON as options (page 26). Meanwhile the FrameMaker (2017) developer's guide says that FrameMaker supports XSL version 1.0 (page 427).If I need XSL 2.0 functionality, and I have Saxon in my environment, will this functionality be supported?ThanksT

FM2017 does not create WebHelp and I need WebHelp files. When I tried opening the files in FM12, it wouldn't let me.What are my options?TIA

I cannot Save to PDF or print PDF when running FrameMaker 2017 in Parallels for Mac. I'm guessing I have a setup problem. I can print and save to PDF just fine with these same files and same FrameMaker 2017 installed on my PC.Whenever I try to Save to PDF or print to PDF, FrameMaker becomes unresponsive (with not responsive message) almost immediately and never recovers from that condition. I have to force quit the application. I can work in the files in Mac (Parallels), save, etc. All functions work. I just cannot print.I switched to Mac (MacBook Pro Mid-2015 running OS 10.12 Sierra) with new job/role about a year ago and I work almost exclusively on the Mac now. All output from FrameMaker is PDF/electronic. I just have to switch over to the PC to save to PDF or print to PDF. All files are sync'd by Dropbox between the machines, so I know it is not the files. They print fine from the PC. I believe the setups are identical, but I'm obviously missing something with the Parallels setup.

Folgendes Problem:Ich habe eine neue Tabulatorposition im Absatzformat definiert.Fenster blinkt kurz mit der neuen Position, Position verschwindet dann.Absatzformat kennt die neue Position nicht.Um das Vorgehen zu überprüfen habe ich die Schritte zur Erstellung einer neuen Tabulatorposition in einem anderen ganz neu erzeugtem leerem Dokument durchgeführt. Ergebnis: Es funktioniert, Absatzformat konnte geändert werden.Daher die Frage, ob eventuell in einem Dokument das Verändern von Formaten gesperrt werden kann?

How do I prevent Frame from crashing when I'm using the scrolling method to select a large chunk of text for a copy/pastedeletion

I followed instructions from another thread to import elements from my EDD to a template, but it didn't work. Only one of the elements from the EDD shows up.I opened both the template and the EDD, then used File > Import > Element Definitions to bring the element definitions into the template file.The "chapter" element is the only element I see.I'm using FrameMaker 10. Not sure what I'm missing in this process.

Hi.I used Adobe Creative Cloud Packager to create an installation for deployment (SCCM) on Windows 10 x64. However, it fails to install. I'm an editor of an industry journal, and got corrections back from an author. He wanted the numbering of footnotes changed. I've attached a screenshot below; he wants the "17" changed to a "15" but I'm not sure how to do that. I'm hoping I can do this and the numbering is automatically changed for all subsequent footnotes.By the way, I work primarily in Word, so appreciate any FM help. Thanks!--Andy

Hi all,As mentioned, I am fairly new to the structured FM. I  have a table in my content. The table was formatted correctly; however, when I apply the structure to my document, I am getting the following error. Please see the attached image. What should be fixed here and how to go about fixing it. If anyone can walk me through fixing the error, I'd highly appreciate it.

Using Framemaker 2017 - can you active a Character Tag upon "X" like you can with nested styles in InDesign?

Can anyone tell me why one of my team members is getting this error. (Internal Error 14004, 14470178, 17032391, 17028791.  FrameMaker detected a serious problem and must quit.  This is after saving the file book.  Also, this is an older file we're working with, which FrameMaker 2017 should still work with older files.ThanksKerry

FM is crashing when I am population a list of items in a scrolling list display. I think it is due to the number of items, around 1000 or more lines and it crashes, otherwise it works fine.Is there a hard limit on the number of items displayed? Can it be overridden or is there an alternative similar display method?

I have a document that was initially on version 7 and am now working in 2017.  I need to modify all of the TASK and Subtasks in the document from exp. "TASK 20-07-00-99F-873-A" to "TASK V20-07-00-99F-873-A" and also modify xref tags the same way.  In Version 7 it would allow me to just modify the TASK text but now I am not able to highlight or modify the TASK.For the xref it allows me to highlight but I cannot make any changes. Below is an example of what I am working on:If I attempt to select the TASK it highlights the whole TASK document:

When i run the Spelling Checker in FrameMaker 11 document, it checks the body of text, but will not catch misspelled words in my tables.  Is there a switch somewhere that is not checked?

This should be simple, but I am wracking my brains trying to figure this out.I simply want to take a text range and remove any character format override (CTRL-I or CTRL-O) and remove the override. I am thinking I need to create a special PropVal variable, but I am trying to figure out how to do this properly.Thanks,Marc

I had someone from Adobe call a user and ask about their Trial of Framemaker 2017. The Adobe rep was able to tell them how many Frame documents were open at the time of the call.  What can Adobe see when we are using their products?

I have a licensed version of Adobe TCS 2017. I noticed that for some reason Adobe CC keeps crashing resulting in the system freezing.Is Adobe CC required when working with RH, FM, Presenter, Captivate? can we uninstall Adobe CC and still work normally with Adobe TCS?

In responsive HTML5 output of Framemaker 2017, I can implement one glossary. I would like to implement two glossaries (one for abbreviations and one for terminology). Is that possible?
