FrameMaker

Hi,I was glad about the possibility to generate a miniTOC in an easy way but ...it is a nice feature to use mini TOC instead of single cross references or table of content as text insert. But the mini TOC in FM 2015 only is a compact blog of all references I determined where I'm not able to say i.e. that I want to show only the first ten paragraphs as mini TOC for the current section of my document and after this I want to insert a new mini TOC for the next section with the rest of the references for the next pages. Means, I cannot split my mini TOC for different parts of the document. With a table of content I can do so..So I have to do the same I did before I was delighted about a mini TOC.Or did I misunderstand the feature?Thx

Is it possible to automate Framemaker 2015 File > Publish, ie to call this function from the commandline? Typical usage would be to automate building html/pdf/etc output from a Jenkins buildbot.Somewhat related question: why is not pdf an option in the File > Publish dialog? Having pdf output menu optionunder File > Save as PDF and the rest under File > Publish could have been good enough in 2015 but seriously:this is 2016 after all.BR Bjørn Asle

In some table cells in a document I am working on, the text is being outlined in dashed line (seen below). I have been unsuccessful and determining what is causing this or how to fix it. Has anyone else encountered this issue and know of any possible solutions? Thank you for your help with this

Hello All,I hope someone can help me. We have changed our Product Manual Templates to having a TOC in each section. The problem is that I haven't been able to get the TOC to have links when making a PDF. Also, the only way I have found to make a TOC for each section is using the Special TOC while the Body section is open (which I can't update, and isn't working). When I try to add a TOC to a folder within the book, it looks at the whole book. Is there a way to do this?Thanks!!I am using FM12....

Finished a project using the owners Framemaker 11. Attempt to reinstall my version of Frame 7 fails. Stalls on first page.

The Responsive HTML5 manual generated by FrameMaker 2015's "publish" tool has a browse sequence, but this seems to skip from chapter to chapter and does not have a very natural flow (skipping all sub-sections.) Is there any way we can change the browse sequence within FrameMaker? Or make edit a file to get the right browse sequence in the output?

I have an Adobe FrameMaker document with a logo in the upper-left side of each header. When I generate a PDF from FrameMaker, I would like the PDF to generate so if a user clicks on the logo from any page, he is brought to the Master TOC.Is there a way to do this from within FrameMaker so it generates this way, or will I have to add the links directly in Acrobat?Thank you.

Hi All,I have inherited a document which has a lot of images.Images are embedded as well as referenced to the external files.My question is, is there a way to get a list of figures which are linked to the external fliesOr the only way to do is one image at a time by using Object Properties dialog box???The reason, I may have a folder with 100 images but only 50 might be used in the document.I would like to get rid of the images that are not used, so I can clean things up.If you have better alternative, I would appreciate it.Thanks.

Any guesses why Chapter Numbered Headings that increment OK in FM11 don’t after conversion to FM12?I’m running both FrameMaker 12 unstructured and FrameMaker 11 (for use with legacy project files only) on a Win7 PC. The chapters in my FM11-formatted book file for a new product user’s guide increment normally in FM11, but something’s amiss after the FM 11 formatted project files are saved in FM 12. What does this mean and how to correct it?

I've inherited a set of 86 8.0p277 MIF files (303 pages total) that come with a lot of TIFF files. I imported them as fm files in FM10 with no problems.  When I look at them, they don't display any images. Instead, I get dozens of red dashed boxes, which are in the master pages, but can't be selected. I think these are background images.The original editing language was German, and I didn't get the book file.- I've made all conditional text unconditional, didn't help.- Saved as html, no rectangles, but no graphics.- Saved as rtf, same.- Saved as FM10 MIF, rectangles, .tif references are present.- Looked at FM8 MIF files, .tif references present.But there's no request for the files' location when I open the original FM8 MIF. I have been working with FM12 for a year.This morning I had a crash with FM 12. I decided to de-install the application and do a newinstallation because FM deny to start.I did: deinstall - reboot - install - rebootAt the end FM seems to start, exept the dashboard. FM crashes.With a standard message.It seems to be a problem with the backup file of the crashed session this morning.Do someone know where to find this files?Can someone help?

I had reported a strange problem with TextRange in my post "Working off paragraphs in two successive While loops" - which could be bypassed with Russ Wards help.In a recent discussion in the German Frame users group the root of this problem may have been addressed by Johannes Graubner - albeit related to FameScript (translated by me):«The command Find FromTextLoc does not work in FrameScript 6 / FrameMaker 2015 - at least not as documented and working in FrameScript 5.2 and FrameMaker 11. Hi All.I have never used FrameMaker until today so this is my first post here. 🙂I have combined a file-reading script and Ian Proudfoot's Search and Replace script into a script that reads comma separated values from a file, and then searches the FrameMaker file for the first string in the array and if found replaces that string with the second string in the array. Making it possible to e.g. loop through a list of old product numbers and replacing them with new ones.It does actually work, but the thing is that the people who are going to use this script are still using FrameMaker 9.So I need to convert this script to a FDK script. And i need to inform them how to run this script in FrameMaker 9.So does anyone know if there are any easy ways of converting this ExtendScript to a FDK script to be used in FM9. Hello I am using Framemaker 12 unstructured and I keep getting the message Looking for C;\program Files\Adobe\Framemaker6.0\filters\cmmap000.binThis is on old path for the prior version I used.When I browse to the new location and give : Update document to use the new path framemaker continues.But after saving and re-opening the same message re-appears.Somehow the new path is not saved.Greetings Johan
