FrameMaker

I am working on an old project and many of the plain paragraphs have a Character Tag of Default Paragraph Font and other paragraphs do not.  This is creating a problem for me when I export the document.  Any ideas as how to quickly remove it from the whole document?

We are using unstructured FrameMaker 12 on a Windows 7 platform (64 bit).We need to number questions in an FAQs section, that includes the "Q" in bold followed by a colon that is not in bold.This is what the new paragraph style needs to do:1.[tab][bold]Q[Default ¶ Font]:[tab]What happens when XYZ?[tab][bold]A[Default ¶ Font]:[tab]This is what happens.We would like for the number and "Q:" to appear automatically and be formatted correctly with the new paragraph style, so all we have to do is type the question. (We would prefer not to use "Q##:" because it would require a unique indentation distance in the template.)The "A:" should also be indented and formatted correctly.Both the "Q:" and the "A:" would wrap around to the same indentation for long text strings.Can anyone provide the "building blocks" that can make this happen?  Is this possible?I tried to search for the answer in this forum and on the Web. Windows7上でFM10を使用しており，下記のような表示不具合が発生します。・astariskエレメントを使用しているが，表示は■となる。（ほかのPCでは*1と表示される）・異なるBodyエレメントを使用しているのに改行されていない。解消方法：エレメント定義を取り込み直す。同種の不具合の経験がございまいたら，その「原因」（推測でも結構です）についてご教示いただけないでしょうか。

I am working with FM 11 unstructured version. Lately FM is not recognizing art files. I know they are in my ART folder because I show them in another explorer window when I do a search. Yet when I try to import them into my FM chapter, they don't show up (File > Import > File). So if I copy and paste into the ART folder (causing two files with the exact same name) FM will recognize one of the art files (still not see that two copies are there. This is making my already very large ART folder even bigger. And when I need to edit the art, I don't know which file to use (I've been wrong more than I've been right on guessing). Has anyone seen this? I believe the problems started about a month ago when FM was crashing almost every day. I have been doing a MIF wash at least 4-6 times this month. I'm not sure if that is a contributing factor. Thanks.

After inserting tables into headers (in master pages), I can't see the Insert Table dialog box when I try to insert a table on a body page. If I hit Escape, normal function resumes. If I hit Enter, I get a table, with the current values in the dialog box. Any idea why it's not showing ??

I'm keep getting Internal Error 11024, 23851332, 23851626, 26595125 on structured FrameMaker 11. Any Idea?

How to connect disconnect pages in FM12?

My account payment is up to date (I'll get that out of the way).When I start FM12 a dialog box opens showing "00" Days Remaining with a Buy Now button.  At the bottom of this dialog box there is a "License This Software" button.  I click that and, as expected, the username is pre-populated with my actual Adobe ID.  I then enter my correct password, click Sign In and see a small collection of tiny blue and gray squares rotating in a clockwise direction with the Sign In screen grayed out in the background.  I watch those squares rotate... and continue watching them roatate; 2 hours later, they're still rotating.  Again, getting the obvious out of the way... yes, the ID and Password are correct.  Yes, the internet connection is fine, in fact, it's stellar at 125mps down and 25mps up.I need to work on a project.  I just want to use the product Adobe already has my money for.Any ideas

In new Framemaker 12 installation, I clicked Edit > Preferences and nothing happens.My click is registered and the menu goes away. But preferences dialog does not appear.I am admin on this pc.Running Win7 on HP laptop.

I have tried all the options available to me, but FrameMaker keeps getting it all wrong. There must be a way to do this, but I cannot figure it out. Maybe someone else has experience with this and can point out where the solution is. After that several customers have complained that the figure-captions in the pdf-files have dissappeared I had to look into it. Earlier pdf:s were made from FM10. I have upgraded to FM12 after a hard-disk crash. After correcting the proofs in FM12 and sending them to the customers they have lost the figure-captions, but not in the FM-file only in the pdf. Looking  at one rather big file I noticed that the caption disappeared on pages where the fig was a .TIF but not if it was a .JPEG. Changing all the .TIF-figures to .JPEG solved the problem. This is a very serious bug for us that have repeated updates on manuals etc. Please look into it.

How can I make a silent install of Framemaker 11?

While opening a book in FrameMaker 11, as I tried to open all files in the book, I received this error. How can I open the files without having any issues or errors?

I'm sure I'm missing something basic here, but any assistance is appreciated.

I have Adobe FM 7.2 with the Patch B144 on Windows 7 x64 and when I try to install the new patch AdobeFrameMaker7_2p158Patcher.exe I get the error "get disk space file error" and the window freeze.

Since FM12 was an upgrade, I am wondering if I can uninstall FM10 to free up disk space.Thanks

Does anyone knows how to move the S1000D_XmlDir away from the default installation directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\AdobeFrameMaker12)? I want to have the S1000D application on a shared directory over network, so all users use the same configuration.

Is there a way to print to PDF form from FrameMaker?

I have recently upgraded from FM8 to FM12 on Windows 7. I am finding that FM is not showing certain imported (by reference) graphics when the FM file's zoom level is 100%. The graphics display fine at other zoom levels.There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to which graphics "disappear," they are all GIF files imported at 96 dpi. Some are images that were in the FM files before we upgraded, and some have been imported after the upgrade.This behavior is not impeding my work, but it is irritating. Has anyone else experienced this oddity? Any suggestions on getting FM to display all graphics when the zoom level is 100%? Thanks.

In my unstructured book, page, table and figure numbering is all correct. All 89 figures number correctly. I can't get the PDF bookmarks for chapters 2 and 8 correct. Each of the chapters have a bookmark, but no expanded bookmarks. They should have several. My TOC may have a clue as to what is wrong: only the links for chapter 1 work. All of the other chapters in the TOC show a link is present, but nothing happens with a click.I've used the same formatting throughout the book; e.g., paragraph tags, master pages, etc. I only have 2 master pages – first and right. First is used for the first page of each chapter. When I save to PDF these 2 chapters separately, the chapter title ends up at the end of the bookmark list instead of the top. I know something is off, but I don't know what to look for. Tags that I don't see? Very frustrating.I'm relatively new to FM and don't understand the tags in the reference pages. I haven't intentionally created any formatting tags in the reference pages.
