FrameMaker

I have markers in a table side heading that I want a Xref to jump directly to (place the cursor in front of the text). It works in Frame, but when I save as>.pdf the link only jumps to the page and not the location  of the marker. Help???PS...I am using Adobe Acrobat X to pdf.

I reduced the image dimensions using shift+Drag to 106x54 px.When I save it as PDF, the image looks pretty pixelated (obviously). Hello there.I just want to clarify how the process has changed for adding an Index to HTML Help between Frame 11 and Frame 12.My old workflow in Tech Comm Suite 4 was like this:In FrameMaker 11, I'd add Index markers to my FrameMaker source, and I'd generate an _IX index file in my FrameMaker book.Then, I'd link the book into RoboHelp 10, and it would read the _IZ index file from FrameMaker, and create an Index in the HTML Help CHM file to match.Am I correct that I don't need to do this any more in FrameMaker 12?If I use Frame12's Publish command to generate HTML Help, I simply need to add Index markers to my Frame source, but I no longer need to have an _IX index file in my book? The Publish process will automatically build an Index my HTML Help CHM using the markers?(I've tried it out, and that seems to be what's happening - just wanted to check!)  - I have to say I'm finding the Help viewer in Frame 12.0.2 virtually impossible to navigate in and find stuff on. Adding a connection to Sharepoint using the FM12 CMS Connection Manager is failing with the error "Configuration system failed to initialize".  I can access all the sites and libraries in Sharepoint perfectly from IE on the same PC, but no matter what I try in the FM12 Connection Manager I get the above mentioned error.  The PC (which is actually a VM) is running Windows Server  2008 R2 (x64 with heaps of RAM and HDD free) with all updates applied.  FM12 is installed as part of Technical Comms Suite 5 subscription.Does anyone have any ideas what may be causing this (or what it even means) and how I can fix it?

I'm using FrameMaker 12 and receiving prompts that a font is not available and being replaced by another font. How can I find the instances of where this is occuring so that I can correct the problem?

I've been subscribing to TCS 5 since May.  Recently, I upgraded to a newer MacBook Pro, and I've installed a copy of Windows 7 and I'm running it using VMWare Fusion 6.  Today, I finally downloaded the TCS 5 files from my profile.I ran into a problem when it came time to install the suite.  I tried continue the installer beyond the "pick a destination folder" step, but when I clicked the "Next" button, a pop-up appeared and said "Insufficient Disk Space," and it suggested increasing the disk size and trying again.  I increased the disk space of my virtual machine from around 60 GB to 128 GB.  I tried the installation again and no luck.Has anyone found a solution?  Do I need to increase my virtual machine's disk space further?  I can't seem to find anything that would allow for a workaround to this problem.  Any advice will be a big help to me, as I really want to start using these programs.

Signed up for the Technical Communications Suite Subscription yesterday. Now when I launch FrameMaker, I get a dialog box saying I either have to use it as a trial version (for 30 days) or buy it. If I click buy it prompts for a serial number.On installation when I tried to access my adobe account in the dialog box that appeared. It said I didn't have an internet connection. My internet was working fine and I got the same message even once I launched my browser.

I am updating an existing FrameMaker10 project, which is in a book structure.  I have changed the names of the files in the directory, updated them to FrameMaker 11, and saved them.  When I try to add them back to the book (whose name I have also updated) a problem occurs for some of the files. When I try t add them to the book file, I get an error message which says that the book file is unrecognizable.  (It does allow me to add it, but it appears in the book file with an icon that has a blue "M" in it.)  Why is this happening and how can I change these files back to normal FrameMaker files?  Thank you.

Hi,I'm running a script where the first part is to import an xml document, then to make some changes to the imported xml.Problem is, the xml may not always be valid. If it isn't I would like to still make the changes regardless.Unfortunately, my code is not running as I end up with "Validation of XML file failed. Continue? I'm experiencing the FM crash / internal errors while printing some pages in a book since yesterday. The FM I have is v12.02.389, and I'm authoring in unstructured mode as well. I'm wondering if this was the same issue but I'd like to describe this error here rather than create a new but possibly a duplicate post.FM version: 12.02.389Internal Error Code: 12024, 24704628, 24704922, 27638133 (I was kind of surprised that four errors came all at once! Man, that's a whole bunch of zombies!)Repro:1. Open an existing fm file with more than 3 pages. (The reason of doing so is I was about to print page 64 to 69 of this chapter to PDF)2. I have a Technical Communication Suite 5 license.  It includes Framemaker 12.  Framemaker 12 saves only in Framemaker 11 and 12 formats, however I need to work with others who are still on Framemaker 9.  How can I obtain a version of Framemaker that can Save As in Framemaker 9 format?

I have several tech guides that have been created through Framemaker 8.  We've just upgraded to Framemaker 12 and found that we can publish to chm fairly easily...  Except there are some very distinct format issues.  Looks like it is not recognizing all the master templates and some of the paragraph tags.  Are there tutorials that I should be focused on?  Conversions that need to be set up?
