Illustrator on the iPad

Hello, I am completely new to Illustrator although I have experience with Autocad and also Procreate. I would like to learn how to use Illustrator on the iPad, without having to learn it first on a desktop. Can anyone recommend resources or the best way to do it? Any thoughts on this approach?Thank you.

I have been using a free trial of Adobe illustrator for a few months. I opened the app today and it asked me to login and to select a plan to be able to continue using the app. I selected a plan and now all my project are gone. How can I get my projects back?

In Illustrator for the desktop you can create a layer and set the layer opacity to 50% and then draw on the layer and all objects draw will be drawn at 50% opacity.  On Illustrator for iPad you cannot set the opacity on a layer that has no objects in the layer.  You can only set the opacity on the layer when an object exists on the layer.  Additionally, even if you reduce the transparency in the layer, any objects drawn on the layer are drawn at 100% opacity.  Why doesn't the iPad version match the features in the desktop version when it comes to opacity?

I'm new to illustrator on the iPad and have what might be a dumb question. I am using the pen tool and creating part of my logo. I want to deselect and start on the next part of the logo but can't figure out how to quickly do so. It keeps trying to connect to the last path point. Please help, thanks!

Hi,I'm working on a brand new 2021 iPad with Illustrator 1.3.2 (latest version at 29/7/21), and I have an essential file that I use that has templates for clothing pattern making. The size is 5.1mb and I open it from Adobe Cloud, but I have it set to "always available offline". It's mostly just pen tool lines and text, but 14 artboards of it, as it is a variation of 14 sizes of clothing. I am trying to open it to simply copy the outline of one size only and transfer to a new document, but firstly the document takes ages to load and is very slow once opened, then when I highlight the content of the art board that I want to copy, the app completely freezes and no matter how long I leave it I have to quit the app.  I had a read through community posts and saw that some users had experienced Illustrator crashing on previous versions, so I tried deleting it from my home screen and re-installing, but that didn't help.  Any suggestions on what is happening here or how

I just spent 4 hours vectorizing a drawing and now it's stuck on the crossed out eyeball. I can't get the art everytime I click eyeball the whole app freezes! Waste of half my day!!!

I am trying to log in to illustrator on IPad but keep receiving a check your connection message. Nothing at all wrong with my connection and I have tried all fixes I can see. Any ideas. And why is the support function so infuriating on the website???

Hello,Since I have Illustrator on my Ipad pro, I can't use some .eps files that I use from my Freepik account. Some of them can be used, others not. It's random and it's really frustrating. Also, I have a lot of trouble working with some heavy .eps files. It lags a lot. I often have to close Illustrator because it crashes because of these files. Hi, please help. Previously, when drawing on the ipad in illustrator, with a blot brush, you could draw a line shape, now it is automatically rounded into a large shape. How to fix this? 

Hi, I would like to ask about my problem to save the artboard on ai iPad. Originally I drew a vector on Fresco then transferred to ai for fixing lines. But the shaped tool hasn't work properly then bugged. I'm not able to save my drawing overnight from yesterday. Can I uninstall the app then reinstall? Do I lost my projects on my ai?Many thanks     

HI COMMUNITY... Wonder if anyone has tried to print from AI for ipad , i don't seam to find the option.And if anyone can tell me why i don't have the option to safe as .ai on my export options..or a safe as ..one?Thank you all. 

I appoligize in advance for my rudimentary explanation. I am trying to create a pattern for a card holder. I have combined a rectangle and an elipse in order to create a divet after hitting "minus front". Unfortunately, I cannot curve the edges of the divet. I can do it for the original corners of the rectangle, but not the ones created from combining the shapes. Any advice is appreciated.

Is there a knife tool within Illustrator for iPad?  I have to use the knife to create 3D word spheres!  TIA

 I need to be able to draw a *line* (open-ended path), however when using the Pencil Tool, the endpoints almost always automatically join—especially at smaller sizes. For example, I can't draw a 'c' because it auto closes into an 'o.'I can't find a work-around, and without one I can't use the app in my workflow! Help?! Thank you!

Hey, I just had a Samsung tablet (Galaxy tab s7) and we know that its technical specifications are similar to those of the ipad ... I would like to know if in the future there will be a possibility of a version of "Illustrator on the Ipad" for Android? , I really need it, and that "Illustrator Draw" app is not enough for my work, because it does not have all the necessary tools.-Thanks 

I dont know if it is possible to be worst comapny then adobe. Its been a month since i report my problem to adobe. It took 12 hours of my time to tlk do different people who only tell lies, like i would be their crazy girlfiend not a customer. Lies about contact, upadeting, they told me to do video of the problem, to send print screens to connect to thier network ect. Nothing happen, they told me that someonecwill contact me in 24/48 hours nothing happen. And i cant work, dont have tools i need nd i need to pay for this really bad product. Hope it will come back to them someday and hit them really hard in face. 

I am struggling with an AI ipad problem which I don't know is a bug or a limitation in my hardware. Maybe more. I noticed the problem more than ever before when I was drawing a big bird and started drawing individual feathers - and even more when I mirror the half bird I actually draw. This applies to the graphics, but also to the list of object or group of objects on the right side.I notice when deleted objects remain in the list and I'm unable to select or remove them there.Can someone please explain to me what the problem is and how to avoid it. I am aware I don't have the fastest ipad available.BUT my iPad is listed as powerful enough to run the program and it has max. storage space. I have never been able to figure out about iPad RAM - the memory needed by the processor. Does it use the storage space

Hello! I've seen the Illustrator for iPad has a feature of autotrace sketches and adjusting them to the grid, the thing is I can't find it. (I'm attaching a gif of someone using it)I tried taking a photo and importing a sketch and the portraited feature does not appear on my options.How can I activate/use it? Thank you very much in advance!
