Hello. I know - I'm a novice and it's probably a basic question. I'm trying to take a digital picture and print it into 16x20 but the image becomes super grainy. How can I improve the resolution so that I can print it and it's not so grainy?
I was recently on a walking holiday in Tuscany, Italy. I took a lot of photos. I have an app, Geotag2 Pro, installed on my iPhone which logs times and GPS locations. When I got home I loaded the photos into Lightroom Classic (14.5.1 on macOS) and told Lightroom to apply the tracklog. To be fair the results were all in Tuscany, but all over the place. Photos taken a couple of minutes apart were miles apart on the map.I contacted GeoTag support for advice and they told me to download their tagging app which I did and used on copies of my Tuscany photos. I then created a separate Lightroom Catalog with just those copies. The results were much, much better; there were a few anomolies but they could be explained by the way the Geotag 2 Pro works and if their logging app can't place a photo in a reasonable place in the time line, it doesn't do anything to it.Has anyone else experienced this problem, or have any ideas for improving the situation? The Geotag logging app seems to work bet
I have the current version of everything. When flipping between images, Lightroom pauses for anywhere between 3 & 8 seconds. It's frustrating as I am a professional who is editing thousands of images. Adobe! Please let me know what to do? It did this in previous versions as well.
In copy/paste, I can include a crop. In a preset, I can included everything in the 'copy' except 'crop'. Allowing this would be very helpful in processing a batch of mixed/similar images, as you could set up a number of temporary presets to be multiple crop/paste 'buckets'. For image type 'A', use preset 'A'; image type 'B', use prest 'B'; etc. (crop aspect ratio is not a solution, actual crop is needed).
I used Classic instead of the cloud version for the following reason: I have read that Adobe retains the right to mine private images uploaded to their cloud for use by their AI tools and possibly other purposes. Since Apple already has all of my personal images on THEIR cloud, i don't see a need to extend access to yet another tech company. I expected Lightroom to have a usable facial recognition function, but it DOES NOT. I've spend 12-18 hours manually retagging a few thousand images of family in Lightroom Classic. The initial tagging was incorrect most of the time. Dogs and pieces of furniture "recognized" as specific people, old people recognized as young, men as women, the same IMAGE showing up in different groups. So, in the end, i had to classify or reclassify most of the images, and finally gave up when i got about 60% of them done. I think in the future I may upload them to my iPhone cloud and let the iPhone do the image
In my workflow, I import into Media/Photo/CameraImport/2025/2025-07-15/filename.arw. Then I develop and rate there, and when I'm done with an event, I select all the ratings >= 1 and Export them as HDR jpgs (or whatever is needed). What I'd like is for the exports to go in Media/Photo/Exports/2025/2025-07-15/filename-HDR.jpg, i.e. /Media/Photo/Exports/<original folder>/<original filename>-HDR.jpg, and have those files not be part of the Lightroom catalog. (If I use "original folder" then later I sync the folder to pick up new imports, it'll also pick up the Exports into the catalog, which would be bad.)Is this possible? I haven't found any way to apply template tokens to the export folder, just the filename. I suppose I could export to one giant folder with everything, /Media/Photo/Exports/2025-07-15-filename-HDR.jpg (filename tokens make that work OK), but that gets hard to manage. What do folks here do? There's probably a better way. Maybe a plugin like h
Hi,My Lightroom Classic has been behaving reasonably well until today. Now I can't import photos - at all. When I select File/Import Photos and Video it just does nothing at all. No splash screen, no dialogue box... nothing. Here's what I've tried before I came to you guys:1. I restarted the computer2. I created a new Catalog with no photos from scratch... I did at least get this error when I did this: So at least there was that.I then went into the library folder and checked all permissions for all operators on this machine... IE me! - and I checked they were all set to read/write.I restarted again and - just nothing.I can't drag images into the thumbnail grid view from Finder.... and I can't.... well do anything else!Everything else currently seems to work ok. No new photos in my catalog... or any catalog for me!
For some reason, I no longer get the option "delete from disk" when I hit Ctrl-backspace to delete by rejected photos. All I get is the "remove" option. This is true when I am working in collections but not in folders. In folders I do get the "delete from disk" option. Does this mean I have to work in folders to delete the photos? I'd prefer not to. I prefer to work in collections. If I have to go to the folder, it means I have to figure out what folder the photo is in and go there. That's such a pain. But I will if I have to, I guess. Is there a way to get the option "delete from disk" to appear when I am in collections? I could swear this option was available. Maybe they took it away in an update. Thanks for the information.I do have the latest update for Lightroom Classic.
Would like to see ability to sort folders in ascending or descending order just like the images.
I'm just trying to find out as to whether I should use "Raw Details" which now – since the newest release – is available in the Menu "Details". The general Information about this function provided by Adobe doesn't give me enough guidance as it is too general (bigger sizes). I can't find any related info in this forum yet.I would like to understand from which sizes of pictures (pixel, dpi), monitor and publishing items (i.e. TV-Screens, printed items) it is essential to use RAW Details. My pics have usually 6000x4000 pixels, are imported into LrC as dng-files and exported from LrC as TIFF-files with 360 dpi. I'm using a 28" monitor. From time to time some (very few) pictures are printed on bigger formats, such as 90 x 60 cm or also bigger. Also I show a selection of my picture on TV-Screens to fan/friends and family. Is there any advice as to whether I should use "Raw Details" anyway or – maybe – only in certain circumstances, e.g. when extracting details of a pic or for specific the
Lightroom Classic is creating preveiws EVERY TIME I press play in Slideshow mode. Why, why why? It doesn't matter how many times I have played the slideshow. I have looked through all of the preferences and can't find a way to skip the process of building previews over and over again. What am I missing?
When I try to edit photos on my laptop (Dell 73900, Windows 11, Intel UHD graphics) the Develop module will not use the entire available window to edit photos. The photo appears in the upper left corner of the window, and the Lightroom app appears to "overfill" the screen (see attached doc) Any suggestions?
I want to show the string "B & W" as a title. If I put "B & W" into my TranslatedStrings, I getWindows: "B W"Mac: "B & W"If I put "B && W" into my TranslatedStrings, I getWindows: "B & W"Mac: "B && W"If I use the unicode for ampersand nothing changes. Do I have to use different zStrings for different Platforms? Or should I wrap the LOC function with custom code and always put "&&" into my TranslatedStrings?
This may sound a bit crazyI have a large lightroom catalog on my internal hdd drive in my tower. I also have a med catalog on an external sdd. Can I download and install a second Lighroom Classic program to my SSD catalog with out interfering with my catalog on my computer. Eventually I will move the second large catalog to the external SDD and merge the two catalogues. Want to make sure the SDD catalog is working good first.
When I begin to process a folder of images in Lightroom, I first save the folder to my desktop. I then edit in Lighroom, and the edits are saved to the catalogue on the internal hard drive. Once I have completed the processing, I save the image folder to two external hard drives, and also save a copy of the catalogue to the external hard drives (note that I have never needed to use the backup catalogue). I then delete the folder on the desktop. Sometime later I may revisit the images to do further processing. I have realised that sometimes I plug the external hard drives into the D drive, and sometimes the E drive of my computer, and wonder whether this matters - can Lightroom still find the images if the drive letter is different? Would it be better to have one drive dedicated to processing, and the other drive be purely for backup? Should I stop editing images on the desktop?
I have an extensive keyword lsit, with heierarchy. In an older version of LightRoom Clasic, there was a command that would export this list to a text file -- it worked. How do I do this in LR 14.5.1? The LR Classic Help section goes directly to Adobe Bridge.
Freshly installed Lightroom classic. Noise removla leaves such a terrible stains on pictures. Any idea how to fix that or at least what is wrong?
I'm looking for a solution to batch processing images where I can add white bordering and my signature/watermark inside the bordering, like shown below;Probably hard to see on this forum due to the white background, but the signature is sitting in a white border frame. Thus far I have done this process by taking the image to PS (if not already in PS) and then increasing Canvas size and dragging my PNG water mark inside and resizing and positioning it (ZZzzzz....)It's ok when doing it for a shot here or there, but I also do event work (paid and non paid), the non paid stuff I tend to always watermark like this, but if there are 20, 40, 100 shots like this... that means popping into PS for each and every shot (for this process) whereas it's quite feasible I edited things purely in LR (and used Syncing features) to be quick about things, popping into PS for this process for each and every shot kinda defeats the purpose. There has to be a quick way to handling this, even outside of LR/PS?Th
Merci [since writing about catalogs, it seems to be Lightroom classic - moved to the correct community - Mod.]
What is the best way to use LRC on 2 computers/Macs ? Thank you for advising me.
I have some vintage photos (taken at least 100 years ago) that I've carefully tagged using facial recognition in Lightroom Classic CC. I'd like to share these photos with each photo tag preserved above each face with family and genealogical societies. In some cases, I have class or sports team photos, and identification of the individuals in the photo holds a great deal of value for the people I'm sharing the photos with. Is there any way of exporting people tags with associated faces to the web?
Hello, please add a keyboard shortcut for the "Automatically straighten the photo" option in the "Crop overlay". Usually, I press "R" to select crop and wish to have another shortcut for "Auto straighten", as it usually works well in most cases. Kind regards,Kristijonas
In the past (2 month and earlier - I used LR from more than 10 years) When I am on the map module, if I click on one picture, Lightroom suggest datas for land, town. and state. Now (ver 14.5.1) I have no suggest.I haven't change nothing in the parameters. What can I do ?Thanks
Dear Adobe Lightroom Team, I would like to request a usability enhancement for the AI-based noise reduction feature in Lightroom Classic. Currently, this powerful tool can only be accessed manually via the Detail panel in the Develop module. For users who frequently apply noise reduction to multiple RAW images, this workflow can be time-consuming and repetitive. To improve efficiency and streamline editing, I kindly request the following: Add a dedicated shortcut key to trigger the Noise Reduction feature (e.g., Ctrl + Alt + N) Alternatively, allow users to assign a custom shortcut to this function via the Keyboard Shortcuts panel This small change would greatly benefit photographers working with large batches of high-ISO images and enhance overall productivity. Thank you for considering this request. Sincerely, kazuyoshi ino
