Has anyone else taken a bunch of images they have applied the adapative colour profile to, and then used "match total exposures"? I find that when I do this totally messes up... now the adaptive profiles obviously do a lot of jiggery pokery behind the scenes and from what I can see try to get a vaguely evenly distributed histogram (which is great btw). So my guess is that one shouldn't really use match total exposures when using adaptive profiles, which I have no issue with, in which case should LR not pop up some sort of warning like it does if you click on the "auto" button when using the adapative profile? Maybe an idea for an improvement? Am using v14.3 of LrC
Hi everybody. The changes I am making on the photos in LrC in particular on the "development" section are not repeated in the "library" section. When I decide to export the photos in JPEG from the "development" section the result is that the photos do not have my changes but remain as I see them in the "library", therefore they are partially modified. How can I solve this?
At my Mac using the latest Lightroom when I plug in Insta 360 Ace Pro in usb-drive mode the import dialog will not show up any pictures at all.. While the Finder shows up all pictures and I can copy these to my raw file folders and later import these into Lightroom I find this very annoying. Obviously the lightroom dialog seems to be buggy..
... although afaik LrC is already at least at 14.2or further. PLUS! I have unexpectedly the develop module disabled - With the life time license since 6.x I have no complaints about 11.x, except that the now rug has been pulled from under my feet.Should I pay for a onetime update? If yes, where shoulkd I start. If not, can I have my running existing versuoin restored? Please adviseTiASmo
I catalog my folders by year and then inside, by date of shoot. For some reason the last few folders for December of last year are not showing in Lightroom Library view. I've heard that Lightroom on Windows only allows 1600 folders in a folder. Is that true also for a Mac? The folders are there, and were cataloged at the times of the shoots but now they do not show up. Can I repair this or do I need to use a work-around using another program to view the folders? Any suggestion to how to fix this so I can see the folders and images that are there?
Hello! Since a while back (a few updates of Lightroom Classic) I can't create new collections after I have imported a large amount of images (like 500–1000) from my camera memory card and converted them into dng-files during import. When I try to create a collection nothing happens. If I restart Lightroom it works fine again. I tried to recreate the problem, to be able to upload a video of it here, and only importied one image. But then it worked. So maybe it's connected to importing large amounts? Screenshot of my version of Lightroom and computer info attached. Hi, I see several threads of this and am yet to find a solution. Every few clicks, Lightroom crashes. I can barely get anything done. Oddly enough, I have the same problem on the creative cloud version of Lightroom as well. Can't pinpoint what causes the program to crash. Sometimes it's changing from one photo to the next, sometimes clicking a dragging a slider or preset button... cannot find a pattern. Just seems like I'm reopening the application every minute or two. The crash looks different. Most of the time, the program simply exits to desktop. Occasionally it freezes and I have to force-quit through task manager. On some occurrences, the display is destorted/garbled or has something odd going on. I've attached a screenshot (NOTE - this is from the cloud version of lightroom but I get the same thing in both versions). System resources look fine. LrC says it's only using 20% of dedicated GPU memory and 6.1% RAM. CPU load hovers around 5%. Most of
The stitching of some panoramas actually doesn't work. Moreover, this panorama can be stitched, for example, by PTGUI or Autopano. Moreover, LR response is unstable - then it can't stitch the panorama at all, then only 2 out of 4 photos, and so on. I would like to debug this useful function! The sources for stitching can be downloaded here :https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zefrYmwaFlLn8hfitjbNbQJgFE3mFN3L/view?usp=sharing

Hi All, I have been living with a problem where I cannot get lightroom to accurately print colours where as when I use the Canon Print studio pro plugin I can. It mainly affects yellows where they appear a red/orange hue. I have tried various potential solutions found on the internet but to no avail. Things I have tried are. reset/reinstalled printer driver on Macgoing into print settings(bottom left of print page) on lightroom and savingreclaibrated screen with spyderx pro As already stated prints come off fine from Printstudio pro plugin. The reason I would like to use Lightroom is I find it a better process and recently print studio pro has had doubts as to how long canon will support it. Set up is as follows mac StudioBenq Sw 270 monitorcanon pro 10s printer using canon driver (not AirPrint)mainly use Fotospeed papers with personal ICC profiles created by Fotospeed would love to hear if anyone has had this problem and found a solution. many thanks
Has anyone had to deal with this? When I am rating images on the film strip in Lightroom classic (Develop tab), by default it will reset my position and push me back to the left side. This is frustrating because it causes me to have to scroll back to the Right to figure out where I left off rating images. Because of this, it slows my workflow. Does anyone have a solution that will allow you to rate photos and keep your place in the filmstrip to avoid this from happening? Thank you
This is crazy. my photo keeps changing color when it gets to Lightroom Classic Library. I'm using a Spyder calibrated monitor, all of the photos in question are on the same screen. When I save the file in PS, the dress is a deep, saturated red. When it gets to LrC library, it's orange. So I tried to fix it in the Develop module in LrC... And wonders never cease, it's red again. UNTIL, I go back to the Library tab, where it's still orange. I've researched the problem and it seems that the Develop module and the Library module use different color profiles? - Unless I'm missing something, how is that a good idea? Why would your own platform use two different color settings between tabs? NOTHING I have tried will get LrC to stop deciding that it likes Orange better. Is there a setting somewhere that I haven't found that tells LrC "Stop thinking you're smarter than your user, and use the same damn color profile
I have doubt about the colour long time ago, and questiong myself about my skill, but didn't actually do experiment. This time I took photos with my Canon 70D and saving as raw (CR2) and largest JPEG. Imported to Lightroom Classic and converted into DNG. I compared the CR2 (improt w/o convert) and DNG (impoprt + convert), they look the same (left pics) and have different colour than the JPEG come directly out from my camera (right pics). I tried to adjust the colour from Camera Standart to Camera Faithfull and Adobe Color, but none of them match the output. Is there something I didn't do, so the data is lost forever? Or the different is coming from the rendering, the camera have different way to render and raw format, so they will never be the same? Please let me know if I can still be able to make those photo converted to DNG + deleted orignals back to the colour I took initially 🥲 Lightroom vs directly from camera Lightroom vs directly from camer
After upgrading CPU and Motherboard my import function is extremely slow. I get the message "Der Zielordner ist nicht verfügbar. Statt dessen wird der Ordner "Pictures" verwendet." The program is searching the whole memory taking quit long time and even after finding the respective folder, it takes long time to select key words etc. Has anybody an idea how to fix that?
Does anyone know why adjusting the parameters in the Lens Correction Panel would make Lightroom suddenly choose to using an alternate (and incorrect) profile? Maybe just a bug? Lens profile enabled. I click 'Setup: Default' and the correct profile loads, I then move either the distortion or vignetting slider and the incorrect profile is loaded. I took a screen reocrding but don't seem to be able to add it here. These are regular DNG files, converted from ARW with Lightroom, not EXIF tweaked in any way. They have completely stadard metadata. Lightroom correctly identifies the camera and lenses in various metadata fields. Sony A7RII. The problem exists with a variety of Sony lenses (Batis, Sony G etc). The option to reset my lens profiles to defaults is greyed out, I guess that means that they are reset. I also emptied out the LensProfileDefaults folder to make sure that nothing odd had ended up set. No change. I have only just noticed the issue. It could have come wi
Hello, I hope you can help. I'm very experienced with Photoshop (professional photo studio) and I'm learning how to use Lightroom. I'm working my way through a detailed tutorial and have encountered something unexpected. In the Develop module ONLY, I'm getting a weird color overlay on the image AND the background. If I change the background color in preferences, it persists. For example the White option looks pale yellow. The gray option looks like yellow overlaid on gray. So it's not coming from the background color preference. In the other modules, for example, Library, Print, Slideshow, etc. The background in the center panel looks as it should. It's white, as you would expect, if white is the chosen color in the preferences. Soft proofing is not enabled, so I don't think that's causing the strange color. I am working on the latest version of Lightroom Classic. My Mac is running Sequoia 15.3.2. I've included screen grabs of the other information that
I recently upgraded to an Apple Studio Display. In Display Preferences several "Reference Mode" presets are available in addition to the default. When working with LR Classic, is there reason to choose the "photography" mode or the "sRGB" mode over the default? Would this give a more/less helpful visual rendition than soft-proofing in the develop module? I do some printing (sRGB) and post images in various ways to the web. Thank you.
Sometimes when i select multiple edited photos and make some adjustments (just moving the toggles of the 'main' photo or syncing with cmd-shift-s) - some photos become flat, with all the settings reseted to default. I found that when i change selection to some other photos, and then return to the corrupted - it becomes 'edited' again in some cases, and in some cases it loses my develop setting without a trace. This 'reload' doesnt work often. This problem also was on win laptop, and it freaks me out.Sony A7iv ARW filesStandart previews + smart previews always generatedMac oS Sonoma 14.3LR 14.3Macbook m3pro 16gb, enough free disk space (avg 100gb)On multiple catalogs testedOn multiple versions of Lightroom

Release: Lightroom Classic Release 13.2Platform: Dell Precision 5760OS: Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.19045Lightroom Classic crashes every time I click the Denoise... button to attempt an AI denoise. It does this whether the image is a JPEG or DNG. The crash occurs about a second after the "Loading Enhance Data" dialog box appears.
Hi, In Martin Evening's "photoshop lightroom 5 book" pg 219 it goes "LR and PS are able to automatically compensate the shadow point every time you send a file to the desktop printer or you convert an image to cmyk (im assuming it wont do this if you send a RGB photo to a lab printer?). LR's color management system always ensures that the blackest blacks you set in the basic panel faithfully print as black and preserve all the shadow detail". Now this book is from 2013 so I don't know if it applies to the current LR classic of today. I asked Grok Ai and it said LR doesnt do this -- so my question is does what martin said still apply to LR today? thanks
Hi,I have some images (PNGs) that want to create a HDR Merge from, however when selecting them and starting HDR merge, get error message...."Unable to merge the photos. The files lack the neccessary Metadata for merging".Any idea what part of the metadata this is trying to find?Is there a way of adding the data or pre-processing them somehow in LR or PS to recreate the data?I tried exporting them to jpg first, but get same error?HDR Merge works ok with other images of mine in past. Cheers,Nick
Hello everyone, I`m trying to organize my Library inside my LR Catalog to look the same as the structure on my hard drives without having to import all my old existing photos again into LR Catalog (as they already exist into other app catalogs that I`ve used before LR).So I have a structure on which I import my new photos, select and delete the unwanted ones and then edit and move them to my main folders into my library in which they stay: 1. I first import them from my SD cards into an Unsorted folder located on my PC - here I do all the selection, delete the unselected, edit them. 2. I then move the final images from the Unsorted folder (from my PC) to my final folders located on my NAS - there they remain.I tried to find a way to move the photos from my PC to my NAS inside the LR Catalog folders structure but the problem is that if the destination folders on my NAS don`t appear here inside the LR Catalog, as they don`t have any photos imported into my LR
Hi I tried to use the downloader to have Lightroom on my pc (I have Windows), but when I sign in it just says 'library not found' and I just want to add new photos from my laptop but there is no option for that at all. Do you know what can I do to actually select them? Thanks
