Lightroom Classic

I would love the ability to have the ability to adjust the image size relative to a specific window. For example, if I am editing images at 25% size and some images have different megapixels they would still fill the predetermined window size instead of getting larger or smaller as I progress. I prefer to have a lot of grey around my images in the develop modue, so it's distracting having the images change sizes so frequenty if say I'm working on a catalog of images from different cameras with different megapixels.   If anyone uses Photomechanic, you know what I'm talking about.

When working with B&W images I would like the option to have RGB curves affect the colours used by the black and white mixer to create the monochrome image.   Currently editing these curves affects the image colour only after the conversion to B&W so the image becomes colour toned gradient effectively duplicating the the colour grading tools.

What. Have a true  lights out  dim mode .  ie . without adding bright  “distracting”  white frames.  or at least the option too choose 🙂     Why  -diming the ligts or black colur arond the image allows to see the colours better.  by contrast the thing that stands out most is the added white frame !!   -being able to sort through image slides  in the library  module   on dark mode  without distractions , as probably was intended    -when editing a photo  in the develop mode . the backgound is black and there is no white frame around it . this is perfect 🙌  why can this not be the case in library mode   -White ‘dim mode . shows no border.  I findi it so much better \ however  the  white screen background screen is murder to the eyes    /side note . maybe the reason for the border is to know where image ends . I'd love if Lightroom's eye dropper tool could function like photoshop's info panel to check RGB levels. where you drop a marker on a spot on the photo and then the readings are shown from the same spot. It would help A LOT so we can check values and manipulate the settings to get our numbers where we want them, instead of having to look for the same spot over and over again after we move the mouse to change anything.   please have this in lightroom as soon as possible please! 

Will Adobe consider the option to preset the clipping threshold values during tethered shooting in Lightroom Classic (like it's possible in Capture One)?

To LrC software engineers, can you please add a 360 photo viewer? It's kinda a hassle for me to export then view on another program. Thanks! 

I dropped in here to see if anyone else is as frustrated as I am by how virtually useless managing keywords is in Lightroom. Sadly, I discovered that the most recent post in one particular thread is... 8 Years Old and none of the asks that I read through have been acted on.PLEASE address our concerns and overhaul/redesign the limited functionality of the Keyword List. We NEED a means to reorganize keywords that doesn't require us to select a keyword and then drag it uuuup and doooown.Allow side-by-side display of the Keyword List, so that we can expand and collapse either list to facilitate moving and organizing keywords from and into either one.I'm attempting to organize my keywords by grouping them under sub-keywords. As an example, I need to select and drag the keyword Zebra all the way up to nestle under Animals, which is cumbersome and annoying.Furthermore, as one drags a keyword up or down the list, it becomes a challenge to stop at the word that one needs to nest under and becom

Hello Forum!, In Grid View, it keeps happening to me that I can't see whether, and if so, which image is selected. The difference between the shades of gray is very slight. It would be fantastic if you could use colors. Thank you very much!

Can we please de-couple Vibrance/Saturation from the new and improved auto-tone "feature"? It seems like whenever I hit auto-tone, the vibrance and saturation get jacked up way high. I tried a preset where I set them to zero, however, that is not an optimal solution, especially if I want to adjust something out of workflow order. I'd like to be able to have an auto-tone preset that leaves the V/S values the way they were, so if they're all set to -20 or 0 or 10, they stay that way.  

Hi,   I am using Lightroom Class version 11.4.1in my Mac Monterey. I am trying to see if we can change the anchor points of watermark for each of the photo while exporting multiple photos using the export button. Because if i export all the photos with the same anchor point in certain photo the watermark is placed over the face.   So wanted to check if there is a way to position the watermark for each of the photo while exporting multiple photos

When importing from LR classic into Portfolio the subtile may be shown in Portfolio, but in Béhance the subtitle has to be added manually for every picture. I see no add-in or else making it possible to have (sub)titles shown in Béhance pictures automatically with the imports from LR.  As a nature photographer I would at least have the name of a species shown with the photo. Adding these again one-by-one although these are already in Lightroom and Portfolio is a lot of work, but when these are absent the search engines will not find the pictures whilst Portfolio does not feed into the search engines, and Béhance does. Is it not an option to feed automatically (sub)titles and preferably also countries and dates into Béhance.  I understood Béhance is meant to feed search engines as a main purpose but that seems to be forgotten in a way.      Cheers, Louis

Adding this functionality would be highly valuable for:   - Photographers specializing in black-and-white photography who aim for a faithful rendering of their vision.- Printing professionals who require the Gamma 2.2 profile for optimal results.- Digital artists or creators needing an accurate grayscale workflow.   Proposal:- Include Gray Gamma 2.2 as an option in the color profile menu during export.- Ensure a simple and intuitive impl

What: After making a selection by luminance range, allow the user to expand or contract the selection by (number of pixels).   Why: After AI Denoise of high-ISO files, deep shadow areas retain residual noise which limits the extent to which they can be adjusted.    Value: In dance photography, I'm often faced with pathological lighting conditions (e.g., some dancers in a bright spotlight while other dancers are in shadow.) Creating good-looking images from such exposures typically requires boosting the shadows significantly, which then necessitates doing extra noise reduction in the shadow areas.    My current solution involves applying extra NR via shape-based masking (e.g. AI people recognition, manual brush selection, etc.) This approach works but takes much more time than I'd like to spend.   I'd like to make this process go much faster by using luminance-range-based selection to grab only the shadow regions -- but as currently implemented in LR, this

May I search for help about LR tethering shoot on live view? When I use a manual focus lens like Canon TSE-90mm,it would be the screen as attached. Using auto focus lens but transfer to manual focus has the same situation as well. Turnning back to auto,it will disappear. What could I do to turn the focus point screen off? Would be good to have a feature where 'same as previous' was avaaialble on auto import to copy the settings from the previous capture. I use Fuji to have to use an auto import work around

When the user sets a limit to Preview Cache and spproaches that limit the app continues to nag the user to change that limit with the message "Preview Cache size has reached 90% of its limit. Would you like to increase its cache size?"   I can understand wanting to let the user know that the limit is being approached, but after the decision to change or not change the limit has been made  by the user, this message should go away and never return unless the user resets the cache limit in preferences. 

[I have rewrited this since the original post, since my original text was not as clear as it should be]   I think we all photographers refer to focal lengths in 35mm equivalent value (angle of view). But since there are a myriad of sensor sizes (and so, a myriad of crop factors), most of the time the Focal Length metadata (the "real" value) is not very useful, unless you only shoot full frame.   There is another metadata field called "Focal Length 35mm", but unfortunately, this field is only populated for some cameras (it never shows for any of my Canon cameras, for instance).   I understand this is not Lightroom Classic's fault, but some camera makers' (who, for some reason, are not filling in this field). But still, I reckon that some kind of fix is needed, since I think most of us think in terms of 35mm angle of view equivalent, and just seeing the "real" focal length is hardly informative. I teach Lightroom & Photoshop. New users are frequently confused by the Lr Classic import screen. I suggest the the following UI changes.   At the top of the Source panel change the label to Import From. Move the Destination panel to the top of the right hand panel and label it Import To. Create an Advanced Option panel below the Import To panel. Move the following to the Advanced Options panel:     File Handling     File Renaming     Apply During Import     Import Presets     Copy as DNG, Copy, Move, Add   Copy should be the default. Copy as DNG, Copy, Move and Add should not be sticky unless an option is checked to make them sticky. The Advanced Options panel should be collapsed when the Import screen is opened.   This preserves all existing functionality and presents the new user with a simple discoverable UI.   Bill    

Currently, the Enhanced Image (NR) will NOT carry the Collection Information of the original image. I suggest that a check box in the Preference Form can be added like the Keyword (Automatically add keywords to Enhanced image), so that there is a way to automatically add Collection Information from original to enhanced images.

The new adaptive color profile offers a more subtle starting point compared to hitting "auto". However, what if you want to add a creative look using one of the provided color profiles?   I think Adobe should enable the possibility to pick more than one color profile (for example, "adaptive color profile" and "modern 09").    Maybe it would be more intuitive to add a button next to the current button "auto" called "adaptive auto" or something similar.   PS. A workaround is to export the image, reimport it and add a creative look on top of the basic edit. That is cumbersome, time-consuming and takes mor space on our HDDs. 

Problem:  The Keyword List has a number to the right of each keyword for the number of photos that have this keyword. To the right of the number there is an arrow that one can click, which results in displaying the catalog 'All Photographs' filtered for those photos that have this keyword. However, if photos are part of closed stacks, this method will not find the photos.   Therefore, the smoothest solution to this problem is to make the catalog 'All Photographs' always show all photos as unstacked.   The problem is slightly related to the discussion in https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/lightroom-classic-not-finding-photos-in-closed-stacks/m-p/14770539. There are workarounds, such as https://www.danhartfordphoto.com/blog/2022/4/lr014-lrc-tip01-all-photos-really, but none are as obvious and smooth as if it was possible to simply click on the arrow to the right of the keyword in the Keyword List, directly listing those photos.

If an image containing face regions has been cropped and/or rotated/mirrored, the face regions in the exported image are not adjusted accordingly.   Easy to reproduce. Take any image that has a face identified within it - to make this bug more obvious, have the face NOT in the center of the image (lets say it was on the right hard side of the pic at x~0.75). Crop the image so that the face is roughly centered (ie. x~0.5). Now export the image and look at the EXIF face region tags (RegionAreaX, RegionAreaY, etc). The values have not been adjusted for the crop. Ie. for my example, the RegionAreaX should be around 0.5 but will still be ~0.75. Similar issues occur for the y, width, and height values.   Mirror flipping the image horizontally or vertically, or rotating 90, 180, 270 also result in wrong face region values in the exported image.   I am using the latest Lightroom Classic 14.2 on Windows 10 x64 but the issue existed in previous versions as well. I'm sure this has been discussed before but I was not able to find any previous posts.  Since the Fall of 2013 Lightroom no longer captures the subject distance into the Lightroom metadata.  I remember hearing that subject distance was not considered to be accurate data and that's why it was dropped.  I reviewed a bunch of my older images and subject distance seems reasonably accurate to me.  I'd like to know who and why the decision was made to drop this data.  And what it would take to once again start capturing it upon import.  If the camera records data, it should be captured by Lightroom during import.

Hi All.Currently LrC does not allow to select multiple Maks within a correction and neither it allows to select multiple Corrections.This means we can't work on multiple Masks or CorrectionsMy idea is to : Allow selecting and working on multiple Masks and CorrectionsI personally am already able to do it.Look at the videos.I can select Multiple masks and perform the same action on all of them: Delete, Hide, Convert, Rename, etc...I can also select multiple Correction as well and affect all of them.I can also move multiple Masks.I wanted to share this video as I hope it will encourage users to vote for the request, that is very doable.FWIW I have not even 1 year of coding experience with Lua (the language used by LrC) and I managed to do it...took me a couple of weeks though (I am still very bad)For sure the LrC team can do the same and actually can do even better than me since the SKD has many limits with the UIC.

Setting up Lr on a new computer (v8.4.1) running Win10 Pro. Haven't had to set up Lr on a new computer for many years.    When I import photos, the Library only shows the folder the images are in. I can right-click and select Show Parent Folder. That's tedious. I know Lr can be set up to show parent folders by default. I just can't remember how to do it. Have done a search on here and the web and not finding anything. On my prior machine, running Win7 Pro, I had it set up that way.    Thanks.
