Could someone help me with this as I'm new to LrC. I have all my images in folders on an SSD drive. I imported them by folders into Lightroom Classic. But I also have a lot of photos on my phone. I'm not sure how to import them into Lightroom but also make sure they go to the approprate folder on my SSD?
Windows 11 does not support Right-click > Send To > Mail Recipient when the default mail client is Thunderbird. This means that my old MapiMailer plug-in for Lightroom also fails. We often send pictures from lightroom to mailing lists of people, so we now need to copy our Thunderbird aggress book to Lightroom. There is no Import Addresses feature in Lightroom I have written a program to do the conversion and I can create a file identical to a small (2 addresses and 2 groups) AddressBook.lua file as created manually through the lightroom addressbook window. However, when I delete the "real" version and substitute my cloned version the addresses are not found. Delete my cloned version and build the file from a backupof the original, the addresses are found. Is there something else I have to do in order to get my cloned version to be accepted? Does Lightroom have some sort of flag to recognise the real file? {Moved fro
Issue:In the Print Module/Page/Photo Info, if I choose to edit an existing template, the Text Template Editor window appears and then disappears (closes itself) within a few seconds. The time before it closes varies but never more than 10 seconds. Trying to "do something" within the window to keep it open does not help. However, if you click on edit, but don't move the mouse after, the Editor window stays open. But once you move the mouse, it closes within 10 seconds. Filename Template Editor also has this bug but, subjectively, feels like it takes twice as long (~ 20 seconds max) to close. Today I opened my catalog and realised that all my images in a few folders became offline. When I click on the exclamation mark and locate the file I get this error message: The file "[filename]" is associated with another photo in the catalog. Each file can only be associated with one photo. If I click the "Show in Library" button, it will show me the same offline image. I tried to search the filename in all photos in my catalog and only this single image is returned. I'm really confused how this has happened and I'm not sure how to resolve this.
I think I am missing something obvious.I have a folder on my drive with a bunch of images; I have flagged a few as keepers; I now want to move the non-keepers to a different folder where I put all my "rejects" in case someday I want them. The problem is that even in LIBRARY, I can't see the destination folder where I put my rejects. I can move them one-by-one by going to there finder location, etc.But I though I could select a bunch of images and move them to a new destination folder en masse; but I can't see that destination folder (on an external drive -- I can see OTHER folders on that drive but only a few of them.ThoughtsMAC 13.2.1 running Lightroom Classic 13.2Thanx
Hi all, This is soooo enfuriating, I am paying to use LR and PS, not making sure I am spending hours on a regular basis, almost every time you decide to push an update. I am using a MacBook Pro (2022), M1 Max, 64 Gb RAM, fully spec'ed. LR and PS are the latest version of each in CC. Every few months, the same thing happens, that after doing an update, I cannot edit in PS from Lightroom classic anymore. Last week, this was working fine. So far, I have spent over 3 hours in getting it to work and really need to edit a Newborn session I shot, I am doing some basic edits in LR and then to PS for more rigorous work. I have already removed PS from my Mac, rebooted and reinstalled (soft, so keeping all my settings etc). And YES, I do want to keep all my custom set brushes etc. Last time, because Adobe did something, I lost all of my self created brushes, presets, actions, etc. It has cost me weeks to redo everything, because even though you have set
When I run my Catalog consisting of about 30.000 photos it keeps freezing in developing module. I have tried various graphic settings, CPU prio settings, ... When I analyse the performance I saw that at the times Lightroom freezes the RAM is fully used by Lightroom. (about 18 GBit) System Settings on most recent Lightroom, startet about 4 months ago.AMD Ryzen 5 1600, AMD Vega 56, 24 GBit RAM, enough SSD storage ...I have the feeling that the recent conversion of my catalog caused some fault. Any Ideas? Maybe also on how to create a new catalog and import all the picture data of the old one. Cheers!
LRC, 13.5, ACR 16.5, on Windows 10, eats all memory, 32GB, on open. I thought it was connected to AI remove, but now I open LRC, and can watch the memory tick up til it's gone.
Hi, I run Lightroom Classic v10.1.1 on Windows 10 using an Nvidia RTX 2070 Ti (latest drivers). Since I think v10.1 I have very annoying behavior: when moving around sliders in the develop module or just zooming in or out, there is a short black flash in the photo display box. It's probably only 1 frame long on my 60 Hz monitor. The black flash does not happen on every operation on the photo but often enough that it's really annoying and it also starts to hurt my eyes after a while. I tried to take a video of it using my phone: https://photos.app.goo.gl/MqdEn8Y4qJF61jM5A. You can see it for example when I zoom into the photo at the beginning of the video or when moving the first slider after zooming out again. This issue started recently for me, maybe starting with v10.1, but maybe some other update broke Lightroom classic on my system. Has anyone experienced something similar? {Thread title edited by moderator}
I am having problems with Slideshow in Lightroom Classic. I've got a brand new Mac with ample "power" (M3 Max, 64GB RAM and TBs of free SSD space) and the latest versions of MacOS and LIghtroom Classic. But... instead of being blisteringly fast, exporting and creating previews doesn't feel any faster than the 10 year old laptop it's replaced, and Slideshow doesn't work at all. Can anyone help?
The Filter Collections box in the Library Collections panel gets confused when switching its filtering between All and Synced Collections. To reproduce in LR 13.5.1 / Mac OS 14.6.1 (see the attached screen recording): 1. Download and open this tiny catalog: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/47a2qcjulogkdc3b0cefh/collections-filter.2024-09-22.zip?rlkey=5alhwb2f5r0fchbury420619e&dl=0 2. In the Library Collections panel Filter Collections box, type "Test". Observe that all three collections are displayed (correct). 3. Change the magnifying-glass drop-down from All to Synced Collections. Observe that no collections are displayed (correct). 4. Clear the text in the Filter Collections box. Observe that no collections are displayed (correct). 5. Change the magnifying-glass drop-down to All. Observe that all three collections are displayed (correct). 6. Change the magnifying-glass drop-down to Synced Collections. Observe that al
I have installed the latest generative fill lightroom update 13.3 on my macbook pro m1 pro laptop. I have plenty of free space on my mac, the catalog is optimised, and lightroom was always running smoothly up untill 13.2. So the main problems after installing 13.3: 1. images are syncing to the cloud all the time. I know I have quite a lot of images in the lightroom cloud, I left my laptop for 2-3 days working all the time so that the images could get synced. (Anyway, I paused the syncing for the time being as there are other much more important issues).2. importing takes forever to load the images. I use fast CF Express Cards with cf express card reader, with 13.2 import was smooth and fast. It took maybe half an hour to load 3000 images in the import window and then 4-5-6 hours to import, convert to dng and fetch the initial previews, which was normally done within half an hour or something or less. 3. converting to dng on import converted not all of the raws, ot
Hello, For the past couple of months I've been ignoring a warning that CleanMyMacX has been popping up, telling me that my macbook has high memory usage and I need to do something about it. When I click on this, it tells me the main culprit is Lightroom. Please can someone talk me through (in simple terms, I'm great at cameras, reasonably competent at computers but rubbish at this bit) what I need to check? I delete lightroom backups every couple of months (I keep 3), and delete previews periodically (I am scrolling back through old photos as I try to tidy old photos). Its a 16GB M2 2022 macbook air, running ventura 13.2.1. I use Lightroom classic release 13.1. I've nothing against updating my macbook, I generally delay updates to avoid it causing any headaches with Lightroom. Thank you very much, Lyndsey
This has been happening off and on for years but since the latest update it's now a permanent issue for me. I copy and import images from a card using a card reader into my lightroom catalog. I've been doing this for at least 10 years. After importing less than 10 images lightroom no longer adds new images, and nothing more seems to be happen, although there's no spinning beachball and the activity monitor shows that lightroom isn't unresponsive.... The Copy and import photos progress bar does not appear to move at all for many minutes.... If I'm infinitely patient and wait about 20 minutes I'll notice the bar has moved a little bit, although no more images are added to the catalog.. If I look at the folder on my hard drive where the image files are importing, I'll have Temporary folder and then TempParent folder that contains a long list of additional temporary folders, each with one raw file in it. At some point light
I'm new here & was hoping for some help & advice...I sent a photo from Lightroom to photoshop to change the background, I then sent this back to Lightroom to continue my edits but it was saved as a TIFF & Lightroom doesn't denoise a TIFF file....Is there any other way to denoise this image now?Is there a way to denoise in photoshop after I have changed the background & then send back to Lightroom?I'm not too familiar with photoshop, I've only been using Lightroom so am a bit lost!Any help is appreciated!
I am using an older 32GB SanDisk card in a Lexar dual card reader. I am using a PC and Windows 11. The card, until 2 days ago, was working and now there is a problem. I am downloading Infrared images from a Canon Rebel XSI 450D. When I try to download the images there is no indication that images are available. I can take photos and they will be on the card and I can review them in camera but they will not download to Lightroom.. Is this the card reader? Any other tests I can do or should I just get another dual reader? Thanks,Photodoc16
I'm a first-time LrC user. Imported files from my external drive. Seemed to work well. The file structure from my external drive appeared in the Source Panel and previews appeared in the center panel. BUT neither the Folders nor Collections panel appear on the left side of the screen under the Source Panel. Alas, I want to make Collections from the Folders. Can't do one without the other. Although I think I followed exactly the Import instructions from the book Lightroom Classic The Missing FAQ, I'm not getting what I expected to get. How do I fix this? Already uninstalled LrC and reinstalled it. Same problem. I must be missing something. Would appreciate a little help. Thanks in advance.(Macbook Pro, Apple M1, Sonoma 14.6.1. LrC version 13.5.1)
I've been trying to find the templates for collections I've created. Can someone tell me what Lightroom Classic on Windows stores the definitions (templates) for the smart collections I create get stored?
I've been offered a laptop with these specs: Intel Core i7-9750HGeforce RTX 2070HyperX Impact DDR4 2933MHz 32GBPM981a 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 I'm confident it is capable of running Lightroom Classic, but will it run fast? Is this good specs for Lightroom Classic? I have no idea. 🙂
For many versions of Lightroom, the sync settings keyboard shortcut (ctrl-shift-S) will randomly change exporting images. This first started many versions ago and is still happening in Version 8.3. I'm running Windows 10 Pro. Trashing preferences temporarily fixes the issue, but of course, I then have to spend hours/days rebuilding all of my preferences since Adobe still doesn't have a preferences backup. Adobe Support has tried to fix this on numerous occasions but has yet to solve it.
Hi all, I have recently upgraded to a Nikon Z8, still have a Z6ii, and use the FTZ V1 to run my 70-220 2.8 ED FL lens. All Cameras, Len and Adapter on Latest firmware. I only Shoot RAW/NEF, so it's not that I'm shooting jpg. LrC continues to read the 70-200 FL as the older 70-200 2.8 E lens , but ONLY when shooting on the Z8. When shot and imported to LrC on the Z6ii it reads as the 70-200FL.Anyone else had this issue and know of a fix? It's frustrating having to batch-change the Lens profile for all my images shot on this lens [moved from bugs to discussions according to the community rules - Mod.]
My masks are not working right. It won't detect people or background. Then it locks up on me so much so I have to do a hard reset. I have turned syncing off, cleared the cache, optimized the catalog, and tried to give LR more memory. Not sure what else to do. Has anyone here ever run into this issue. If so, is there another fix aside from reinstalling Ps 2024
