Hello, the community in classic Lightroom, the latest version with noise reduction by AI, I find it fantastic and I use it absolutely all the time every time. On the other hand, would it be possible to bring a button or a function so that I can have the choice so that the original raw files no longer appear and so that only the raw files processed with accentuation appear? Otherwise I'm losing a crazy amount of time to remove the original files one by one and that doubles the number of photos and even doubles the weight of the report on my hard disk. if I ask for batch processing by AI, it's because I no longer want to have the original raw files in the dupsiser but only the accented raw files. Thank you for listening. I would love to be able to right-click an image and choose "find similar in catalog" Please, please please! Thank you ❤️
I have been successfully importing photos from my hard drive. Suddenly It stopped importing, saying no photos were found. I am following the exact same procedure. I have restarted the program and my computer, but am still unable to import. I opened a new catalog as a test and could not import there either. Help!
I'm not sure exactly when it quit working but the latest upgrade would be a good bet because I've used the functionality recently. All it shows is a black and gray map of the world with white dots and the error box Unable to connect to Adobe servers. Map module will not work. I tried going back to library, closing and reopening. Didn't change. I have just installed the newest Lightroom (13.1) and the newest photoshop (25.3.1)When in lightroom I cannot "edit in photoshop". It says no external editor is selected, and when I try to select one, no version of photoshop appears. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both twice. This is getting old. It's been happening on and off for the last 6 months,Last time all I could do was install the beta version of photoshop, which puts a giant red popup on the screen every 6 days telling me a have to update.I'd prefer not to do that, but this is a function I use 100x a day.
I have updated both Adobe Lightroom Classic and Adobe Photoshop to the latest versions. I'm finding in my workflow that when I take an image from Lightroom Classic to Photoshop that not all of the Neural Filters are working properly or are not available, particularly the Skin smoothing function in the Neural Filters. Is this a bug or do I need to re-install plugin?
HelloI experience after a while. Then LRc freezes and has to restart everything to get going again. I have also heard from a friend who experiences the same thing. Tried to see if it's a driver problem. But it doesn't seem that way.
I have about 21 000 photos inside my Lightroom. When I'm in Library mode and trying to find some pictures of older date or that I look up pictures via Ctr. F, it takes a very long time before the pictures come up, if they do at all.If I click on the image itself for each image, it comes up. But that's untenable if, for example, I'm going to have a series of photos of maybe several hundred photos. What could be the cause of this and how can I solve problem?
I recently updated to 11.4.1. In the past, when I created a virtual copy of a photo, the virtual copies appeared alongside the original thumbnail image in the grid and the filmstrip. Now, I see a number in the upper left hand of a single thumbnail --- but cannot see all of the virtual images -- no way for me to access them. I'm guessing there is a setting somewhere that I am missing? Help please -- my client wants landscape and portrait modes of the photos that I took today. Thanks!

I use Lr Mobile to edit my photos during event shooting. When I am back at home I import my photos from camera to LrC and let LrC to sync the photos on Adobe Cloud. Because I want only to store the local copy (I will eventually delete the cloud photos) I copy the all the edit setting from Cloud photo to locally imported copy. Many cases there are several photos fro the same subject, but I have edited only one (in Lr), so I might paste the settings of one Lr edited photo to several photos in LrC. The issue is when I have used Subject Mask in Lr (Mobile). LrC can't "reprocess" the Mask correctly, instead it is showing the original photo mask in new photo. Even if I delete the Subject mask completely and create a new one, the mask is from the other photo (where I copied the settings). LrC never created/computed a new mask. This works fine if everythig is done in LrC. I can edit one photo and create a Subject Mask. If I copy the settings from one photo to an other the Subject mask is
Hello all,I have a massive catalog from 2016-2018 that as of a few days ago, won't open fully. I tried to open a recent backup and it also won't open the backup. What exactly happens:Lightroom will load and start loading the grid of photos and about 45 seconds into loading the catalog, I get the, "Lightroom has encountered a error reading a catalog file and needs to quit" message. Opening the original catalog again makes Lightroom attempt to repair the catalog, which also fails. So I extracted a backup to a different location and even a different drive and the same thing happens. Lightroom gets partially through opening the catalog when it says it has encountered an error and then attempts to repair the catalog which also fails. So after fooling with that, I ran a check disk on the drive that houses my catalog and it found some errors and corrected them. Sadly when trying to open the catalog, I get the same errors. It encounters a problem and then fails to repair the catalog. This happens
I was in the middle of a series of portrait sessions, when I regretably updated my MacBook Pro M3 Max. Now, I am unable to thether my Canon 7D MKII in Lightroom. I changed out cabling, deleted.plist files, updated camera firmaware, still dead in the water. Has anyone else encountered this. Looking for resolution!!Running LR v13.4
When I insert SD card via reader and hit Import photos and videos Lightroom frozes and is not responding. in the left corner it says Loading data sets. This used to work without any problem in the past but now it is annoying to the point I am considering of canceling the subscitpion. When manualy copy the folder to the disk and import then it works ok (it is not coping but adding the folder though). I have the latest Lightroom classic version and everything else is up to date. My laptop is Alienware m17 R5 AMD, Windows 11 Home. [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules. A ‘bug’ is not just another word for any problem with software!]
Hi, I'm new to using the community and I know this has probably been asked a million times but I haven't been able to find anything that makes me feel comfortable that I can make a change without having issues, as I wouldn't say I am the most tech savvy person in the world. My current setup with Lightroom Classic has everything stored on the internal hard drive, which isn't good but up until maybe 6 months ago it wasn't that big of a deal for me if I were to encounter an issue and lose those files. However, I want to change that and set up a more secure system for storage along with my workflow. From what I have been able to find out, it seems that the best option would be to move my photo library to an SSD while leaving the LrC catalog on the internal hard drive. The library containing my DNG files is what is taking up the most space on the hard drive. Can someone please point me in the right direction for the easiest way to move those files to the SSD and making sure they stay linked
I have a folder full of photos that were submitted for a project. Is there a way to have Lightroom automatically flag these if they are below a specific resolution or file size?thanks
This might be a bug but it certainly is unwanted behaviour. When you use auto uprighting transform it works very well (saves me a lot of squinting in manual mode) and it crops image as needed to constrain crop. Problem is that cropped areas are gone for good. In manual mode you have access to crop adjustments and you can recover cropped areas as needed. Not so in auto mode – outside areas are gone, no recovery. I wish auto upright would behave like manual upright: keep cropped image parts recoverable in crop tool view. I might want to keep those parts and inpaint white parts of them in PS as needed. (Of course it would be preferable to have content aware fill available for white corners right in LR but I have whined about that in another post...) Does this bug you too?
Hey everyone, I'm sort of at my wits end here. I am culling my images in Lightroom classic but the performance is baffling in its slowness and the momentum killing of my culling and rating process is being flatlined. I shoot on a Sony A7IV and forwhatever reason, scrolling between images using the cursor often results in a delay of several seconds before the new image is displayed. This was not always with lesser systems that I've owned. And while there is a slight difference (maybe?) between JPEG and RAW files, it is not very noticeable and something leads me to believe I have something set for the worst possible performance haha. Please note I checked and it appears as though Hardware GPU acceleration is all on and functioning just fine. Thanks for any suggestions in advance.
Hello! I have searched this forum for answers as well as other websites and remain stumped. I have an external hard drive, that I move a lot of my pictures to through lightroom (classic) A few months ago, for reasons I don't know, I can no longer create new folders through lightroom. I can create a new one within a folder that already exists, but I can't create a new one that isn't a "subfolder". I can however create the folder in my finder (I uses a mac) . I did this, and to try and figure out what was going on, I put a picture into that folder from my finder. I then went into LR to import the picture into LR hoping the folder would show up. When I imported the picture, I was able to see the folder and import the picture into lightroom, but now I can no longer see the folder in the library mode to view the picture. I know the picture is there, but I'm unable to get access to it from LR. I have folders that are visible and tha
Hi there! I once had a big issue with the catalog file on my external drive and have on my laptops internal drive since then. I have actually about 151'000 fotos in lightroom and the backup folder is about 248GB. That's just blocking quite a bit of my harddrive... So I wondered, what exactly would happen, if I delete some old folders in that backup folder? The previews I don't mind (they only make up a minimal amount of GB as I have set Lightroom to delete them after a week automatically), but I don't want to lose my edits or the atributes, tags and so on... I guess that would happen, right? How can I handle this? Is this why people sometimes create several catalogs and have them on different external drives? I really want to avoid this, as it can create loss of data when the external drive goes bunkers while transmitting something... What happens if I transfer the older backups to an external drive and just kind of "reload" them when needed? I feel like this is setting me up for
Hi all, so I just got a new screen. Coming from a 1920x1200, 24" to a 27" running at 2560x1440. I've found that everything is too small in windows, so I set scaling to 125%. Looks good. OK, so now my issue is LR. It's doesn't appear to be scaling. The interface and sliders are too small. I found a font setting, and medium is too small, while large it too big. Also, I found how to override high dpi settings and force LR to use the system setting. This actually looks pretty good, but then the fonts and sliders are blurry. I found a post about editing the prefs file, but I seem to have lost it. Is it possible to edit the prefs file and make the fonts an in-between size? Smaller than large, but larger than medium? Thanks!
The images are corrupted by themselves, can you help me fix this?
When editing RAW images, when is it the best time to apply noise reduction? Should I apply it before or after I apply my color edit changes in Lightroom? Should I apply it before or after I edit the image in Photoshop? I can use the following noise reduction tools: Lightroom denoise or Topaz denoise When I am editing, I apply edits in Lightroom then apply more edits in Photoshop.
Having progressed my keywording script, I've one task left which is to extend a function that creates a map of keyword name -> id so that it handles child keywords. I naively tried: local function find_all_keywords() local all_keywords = {} local function find (keyword) all_keywords[keyword:getName()]=keyword.localIdentifier for _, child in ipairs (keyword:getChildren()) do find (keyword) end end for _, keyword in ipairs (catalog:getKeywords ()) do find (keyword) end return all_keywords end However, when executing this, it creates a stack overflow which I don't understand. My keywords are only about 5 deep, and I think my logic would only attempt to find children of parents which should terminate at each leaf node? ?:0: stack overflow
I am trying to help a fried who has two catalogs, one for testing and his main catalog. When he launches LR he gets a message stating that the test catalog is being sync'd and if he would like to have his main catalog sync'd all the photos in the test catalog will be merged into the main catalog. He does not understand what caused LR to started syncing the test catalog. He does not want either catalog sync'd to the cloud (or anywhere else). He has paused syncing. How can he turn off syncing for the test catalog? Thanks.
