Lightroom Classic

I have an idea / wish for Lightroom. (latest Classic Version for MacOS)I think that this is something that many people want or are looking for and it would be helpful to display the UUID number in Lightroom under metadata.Searching / filtering by UUID number would also be very handy.(Lightroom's internal unique identifier for the photo).It would be nice if this could also be included in the file name when exporting.With kind regards Peter

Hi. Does anyone know why the 11.1 Lightroom Classic version doesnot have the Polish language version in the language preferences?  

Background: When importing RAW files into Lightroom, some common photo settings are read from the RAW file to set the processing defaults in the Develop module... such as white balance or camera color profile.   Camera manufacturer RAW processors tend to leverage most/all in-camera settings to allow RAW processing so software JPEG conversions almost exactly mimic in-camera JPEG conversion.  Lightroom has only partial coverage of these in-camera settings.  As a result, RAW files imported into LR often look different than they did when shot in-camera.   What I'd like: I would like to see in-camera settings reflected as RAW processing defaults in the LR Develop module.  Ideally, if I shot RAW+JPEG, importing both files into Lightroom would have both files look identical, no matter what settings I set in camera.   Every manufacturer has different settings with different names, so as a couple examples of settings I often alter: In Fujifilm cameras, Highlight T

There is no description needed. Word does it, Firefox does it. Almost all software makes it easy to delete a whole word with this shortcut but lightroom doesn't.It's so much easier to work with tagging and keywords with this feature. It must be easy. So please!

  The majority of "Add Shortcuts" start with Alt. "Add tool of selected type" a.k.a. "Add last used tool" should as well start with Alt.   This will keep shortcuts consistent and won't confuse users.   This is a minor technical issue to me, it's not a "proper bug" but nonetheless it's not a good design choice.      

I'm trying to adapt my workflow to use Lightroom Classic (on PC/Windows 10) and am facing an issue I suspect others have already solved. As a commercial photographer I've been shooting digital for more than 25 years and have established a file management/backup system that works for me. Client's images are stored on dual (identical) external drives and a 3d copy of the images is stored safely offsite. Major clients get their own pair of drives because of the amount of data their work represents. All files are stored in folders named according to "YYYY-MM-DD_jobDescription".   When I disconnect a drive Lightroom wants to reconnect the same drive to work on the imported images but provides me with only a drive letter and not a drive name which is how I identify the various clients external drives. Is that correct? Is there a preference I'm missing?   If this is normal behaviour then I need a workaround solution before importing the mages. One option would be to create a folder

I'd like an addition choice besides fit and fill in the navigator panel.   When selected the option should show the image at full size (100%) or fit the window, whichever is smaller.   I often work in the develop module with the left panel closed so don't have quick access to the navigator.  I toggle between fit and whatever my current zoom level is by hitting the space bar.   This us usally what I want -- except when I'm working with lower resolution images on a 5K monitor.  In that case the fit option expands the image beyond the 100% zoom level and I wonder why the image is so fuzzy until I realize what is going on.  I can use the keyboard shortcut to see a 100% view -- but then I lose whatever zoom level I was working in.   An option that tells fit to not expand images would be a suitable alternative.

When applying Post Crop Vignette via the Effects Panel the Vignetting Amount could/should be expressed in stops.   E.g. Post Crop Vignette Amount -/+ 1.5   The photographic language of "Stops" is, in my mind, better for Vignetting than -/+ 0-100     P.S. It's a little thing. I just wanted to propose it, share it, even if perhaps it will never be considered nor implemented.

I would like to have the ability to show items in the Library as a list, rather like one might see in a spreadsheet program. Very small thumbnail alongside columns of data. The columns could be customized in order or content. This would allow for another method of sorting by various data. Oh, and make this list view printable while youre at it 😉

Please Dear Adobe, get a flickr comment download disable switch in the flickr plugin. The last thig i want is idiotic comments downloaded every time i hit publish my photos. Working as a professional, this is just not the way i'm expecting a desktop application to work. This is not helping me, rather then pisses me off. Developing a switch on/off plugin for a developer, is one minute. Thanks.  

I am using Windows 10 and Lightroom Classic 10.4 for batch processing. I really would like to see a software change to batch resizing to megapixels smaller than 1,0 megapixels.   Steps: Open LrC Select a lot of images Click button Export... In the dialogbox scroll down to Image Sizing Choose Resize to Fit: Megapixels Enter 0,5 in the inputbox before megapixels You will see an error message stating that the number entered must be between 1,0 and 512,0   I would like to enter a number as low as 0,1 megapixels. But 0,5 should be enough. With images having different aspect ratios it is very time consuming to group them by aspect ratio and then resize in groups to a certain long edge.  

For the Brush tool we should be able to change Size, Feather, Flow and Density with simple gestures. I suggest the following :• Hold Ctlr + scrub left or right = increase/decrease Size.• Hold Ctrl + scrub up or down = increase/decrease Flow• Hold Alt + scrub left or right = increase/decrease Feather.• Hold Alt + scrugb up or down = increase/decrease Density.Switching to Erase Brush should happen by clickig on the Option. Brush Size should change by fine steps of 0.1Flow, Feather, Density should change by steps of 1 as they do now.  

Right now the keywords only apply to the whole batch. It'd be great to have the ability to add keywords during import, like how you can keyword in the catalog, image by image. I have a walk around camera that I only import every month or so, and so the images will end up having multiple locations/subjects, so it'd be great to be able to do some quick tagging in the import process, since I don't always have time to do it once it's sitting in the Previous Import collection before importing from another card. 

One thing I wish the LR Classic Develop module version of the white balance adjustment tool could do is draw a shape with the eyedropper and have that be the selection for the sample area of white balance. You can do this in ACR, but not the Develop module.

In Lightroom Classic (v 11.1) there is a bug if the mouse / pointer size has been changed in System Preferences > Accessibility.  The brush size when using masks shows correctly when the pointer is over the right hand side panel. When using the brush over the image part of the window it shows much larger (depending on the accessibility setting) but it's effect on the mask is that of the smaller size. If the mask overlay is not turned on, it is not apparent what is happening - it looks like the brush is simply not working. I used the accessibility setting as I use a very large, high-res screen and the pointer is so tiny it hard to see otherwise. I'm using a 2021 Macbook Pro M1-Max, 32GB, MacOs 12.1. The problem is persistent. The problem appears if I use and screen, including only the inbuilt screen. 

I have made a number of photo books using Lightroom's Book module, featuring mostly my own photographs. More recently, I am working on magazines and photobooks that showscase images made by different photographers, using different cameras and lenses.    To this effect, I use the Book module's photo text feature to pull metadata automatically from a given picture, to display, information like who took it, with which camera and lense, at what focal length, etc. For photos that span the entire width of the page, it looks good. However, for photos that are not full bleed, the photo text is flush the respective photo border.   To my eye, this doesn't look good and it's not really usable. I am aware that the vertical offset can be adjusted, but what about the horizontal offset for the photo text, to control the horizontal distance from the left or the right, depending on the text alignment?   I am attaching a screenshot to show the issue. Often a Preference File is suspected of being corrupt. This, when odd things happen. Request that a menu item be added to check the Preference File health. And while adding that, include a button to back up preferences, reset preferences (in a more obvious location and as opposed to keyboard sequence) , and to restore the settings we may have selected before the preference file got corrupted.   Option to accomplish this could in two locations.   The main one being a section in /Preferences/General, add buttons to:   Backup Preference Settings Check Preference Files Health Reset Preference File Restore from Backup       Obviously Warnings will be required, one being the health check would require closure of LrC (assumption). One being that preferences may be reset to defaults (hence the backup and restore button)   A second, bit probably more rudimentary location would be in the optional Select Catalog screen, that most do not use     &nb

I understand that when we work in Lightroom mobile we are working on smart previews that are 2560 x 2560, and that the changes sync back to Lightroom Classic so that we can export at whatever size we want. However, if you "edit in Photoshop" from Lightroom on the iPad, Photoshop is working on a file that's 2560 x 2560. And that's the size that saves back to Lightroom mobile as a TIF. So one could spend 2 hours cleaning up and editing a file in Photoshop, only to have the largest size the resulting image could be limited to 2560 x 2560. The Photoshop edits do not sync with your original raw file in Lightroom. This is a huge problem if you want to export your photos from Lightroom Classic at a larger size. Can Adobe address this in a future update?

Currently, there is no easy way to compare either two snapshots or to compare one snapshot with the current edit. Both would be very convenient when working with snapshots.   A possible workaround is dragging one edit step from the protocol into the "Before" pane of the Before-After view, but you never know if you picked the right edit step (making a snapshot leaves no trace in the protocol pane), and also you cannot compare two snapshots that way. It would be very helpful if there was option to mask out parts which should not be seen in the end result of the stitched panorama of Lightroom classic cc.   I want to keep the flexibility to stitch raws, but exlude parts of the picture to be seen in the end result. If i would not care about raw I could use PS to do the job and mask out the parts by hand after the PS Pano stitching process.   In my case a needed puzzle of picture has a completely different building lightning. (Marina Bay and Sands Singapore) but I need the parts except the building which I do not have on other pictures. Thanks in advance for o comment on that. I am sure so many people out there could need such a option.

When using the Print Module to print a contact sheet, I would like to be able to include the Flag Status along with other information as the caption under each photo. Right now I'm looking for filename, rating and flag status   If I go into Photo Info -> Edit... and get the Text Template Editor where I can see the placeholders for Filename in Image Name and found Rating and Label in EXIF Data but I can't find flag status anywhere.   In the meantime I'm using a color label to indicate flag status but this really messes up my workflow because I use color labels for other things. My template is {Filename>>} -- {Rating>>} -- {Label>>} right now.   It would be really cool if there was an option to show stars instead of numbers for rating and if cell background could be the label color but if I could just get Flag status in the 

Just a little thing, but when selecting 8x10 (4x5) as a crop ratio, it would be great if it would default to vertical orientation as that ratio is predominantly used by most of us as a vertical. Again, a little thing, but it would be nice just the same.

Hello,   I've been using a RNI profile for a couple years now and these last couple months I've (re)edited a lot of my keepers using it. The problem is that the catalog size has easily doubled or tripled because of that. I guess it's the profile that's causing it: it has a custom color table inside and so when I save the external .XMP associated with a RAW file, it is around 240kb, compared to the 10kb or less of a Lr profile sidecar. That adds 1mb for each 4 images I edit, 1gb for each 4000 processed images.   I don't know how Lr works in the insides, but it looks like instead of linking the image file to a profile file, it embeds or write the profile for each image, every time, resulting in bigger and bigger catalog files.   Is there any workaround or do I just sit and watch my catalog grow? It currently is 7,5gb after deleting History.   Thanks!

It's a little something that I'd find helpful in keeping my workflow organized; when filtering my virtual copies, it would be helpful if the information under the histogram panel would tell me if my current photo is or isn't one. Currently, it always says "Original Photo" or "Original Photo + Smart Preview), even if the image is a virtual copy. It would be helpful to see "Virtual Copy" and/or "Virtual Copy + Smart Preview" (if the latter is the case).    Thank you

I may be missing something but I don't see how to add custom metadata from my plugin to the default metadata view (tagset...) using the new `customize` feature. I can only choose from the builtin Adobe metadata. Is there some modification to the sdk to enable this?
