Hi,I have a problem with a project using the FLVPlayback component (the Flash CS4 version) and FMS 3.Playing back a video works fine. When the video is finished, I hide the FLVPlayback component. But if I have to play the same video again, the video does not immediately start from the beginning. I see a glitch with the frame the user last stopped on (whether it stopped at the end or wherever in the middle). It never re-starts from the beginning right away.I have tried different approches to solving the issue: - tried seekSeconds(0) - tried autoRewind = "true" - a combination of both - nulling out the stream source (result in a Runtime error) then setting it againTo no avail.Regards,Karl.
Greetings,I have seen lots of different things about recording live streams (maybe too much, pieces everywhere but no one good source for the answers), but not what I am looking for...I want to setup recording of live streams on FMIS 3.5 where the file is named the stream name plus a timestamp (something like streamname-yyyymmddHHMMSS: myteststream-20090928101015). The people who use our site tend to start/stop several times (we are dealing with events that have breaks) and I want to be able to combine all the files with the same name into one big file on the server side afterwards using some utilities.I was hoping recording would be a little more straightforward, but I cannot find a tutorial that walks you through the different functions, the differences between them, and how recording is setup/works. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate your help! Thanks,Brian
I am getting frustrated becouse I tried to get my Adobe Encore Projects directly uploaded to a 3rd party streaming server. Since this seems not to be possible, I am now looking for a good provider with adobe FMS. Any hints please?ThanksOliver
I have just setup a FMS 3.5 server for our school district and I am reading The beginners guide to streaming by Tom Green to get information on how to use this product. I have it running on a Windows 2008 server with lots of disk space and memory. My questions are1. I cannot make a vod connection to play. I see the connection in the admin console but nothing comes across.2. How would my teachers be able to put their flv files on the server?3. Am I going to have to create actionscripts for all of there files? Thanks for any help that you can give. Other districts are waiting to see what I can do before they dive in.
When I try to connect to my FMS (using FME or any other means), I am able to connect with my local IPs (127.0.0.1, and 192.168.1.101), however if I try to use my external IP address, I get an error: "Failure to connect to primary server ... "I assume this is a firewall problem, however, I believe it is on my ISP's end. I am able to connect to my IP when opening it through a browser (http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx). Is it just that my ISP is blocking all incoming ports? If so, the only way to work this, is to get my ISP to open port 1935, correct?
I've shoved an array in a RSO serverside and now i need to update values in the RSO client side ...I tried the following but it doesn't work...I'm using actionscript 3.0so11.setProperty("conTrol[1]","test"); so11.setDirty("conTrol");
I am very very new to netcasting. What do I need to do first? Where do I go for beginning toots? My needs will be very small audience (24 users) its just a family reunion to broadcast from a 3 camera coverage on location. What equipment do I need (besides my portable studio gear) and what are the approximate costs?

I wanted to use the included video player from Flash media server but can't find a list of variables and values to pass to the player. Is there a list and could anyone point me in the right direction? I'm specifically looking to pass a stream name for a live stream to the video player.Thank you,Dan
I am developing an application that needs to test if a stream exists, the logic is as follows:Open a page and my SWF is passed a variable, this will be the stream nameNow I want to test if that stream name is publishingIf it is, my SWF will open that stream and play itIf it is not, it will play a pre-recorded media fileWhat is the syntax of this check and does it require some server side coding? Thanks
I have created a folder inside Flash Streaming Server/conf/_defaultRoot_/ called Test with some FLV in the folder. When I log into the console its shows the server and _defaultHost_ and Test but says You are not logged into:Test; please make a seperate connection. Does this mean it wants a new application created for Test? How do I fix this? Thanks.
HelloGuys,I´m newer on Flash Media Server 3.5, I read a lot docs about FMS on cluster but my question about FMS working with NAS.My idea is two servers FMS´s share the same storage via NAS and loadbalance in front of managing the balance. This is a good idea or not?
Our QA department ran into an issue when testing dynamic streaming with multple encodings in the FLV format that results in a stream cannot be found exception thrown by the FLVPlayback component. An interesting note is that dynamic streaming works when we use F4V files. At first I thought perhaps this was a limitation with Flash, but when I traced the code inside the FLVPlayback component I realized that the video delivery using NetStream should be supported by the Flash video player. So I'm a little confused why this error is happening. We're using the SMIL playlist format to supply the FLVComponent with the videos. I've also tested each video with a direct RTMP connection and they playback fine, so there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the server or the files.I've included the sample XMIL playlists below.FLV Playlist Fails<smil> <head> <meta base="rtmp://localhost/vod/" /> </he
So here is my story.. It's part amusing, part sad.We deployed FMDS 3 for a test deployment to live stream events. We developed a video player for it. We setup a system with FLE to publish a stream. We setup the server to authenticate publishing the stream. We tested fairly extensively. Everyone loved it. Video and audio quality was great, bandwidth usage was acceptable, and the demands it placed on operations and the teams publishing streams was low.Based on this experience we purched the license to upgrade our development version to FMSS 3. $995, not cheap, but completely reasonable. Everyone was happy. Things ran smoothly. It was a totally successful project. ROI on the way.No one noticed that the access control suddenly wasn't working anymore, as it doesn't show an error loading the access module in the logs... Live stream publishing worked, but it was working without any type of access control. We e
Can somebody please answer this question to me: With the Flash Media Streaming Server (not the interactive version), is it possible to detect if a live stream is running? I want to show an overview of several live streams on one page. The ones that are not running should show as "offline". The others should show an online thumbnail. I don't want the visitors to have to go to all of the pages only to see that the stream is offline.
I want to create folders inside of VOD that I can use to store FLV in and them stream them to webpages. When I do this the webpage displays a white screen It doesnt seem to find the FLV. How can I do this? Does anyone know? thanks in advance.
I am trying to be able to play games on my Blackberry 8230 and I do not know which Adobe Flash Player/Flash Lite to download. I would appreciate any assistance to this question as soon as possible.I need help!
The Web server and the FMS server are prepared respectively, and the environment is constructed.Put contents on the Web server, and refer to the FMS server by the following flow.User --> Web server --> FMS server..remainder.. finally, the session of "Tcp" responds though the number of accesses to servers is hundreds of levels why and the service of "FMS" doesn't respond in large quantities. It is possible to restore it by reactivating service now.Does nobody know the coping process? It seems to be substantially near the following article.http://forums.adobe.com/thread/462259?tstart=150
Why does the FMS port connectivity test consistently report that every single port (RTMP and HTTP tunnelling) test failed? (The page even notes that all users should pass it!) I've updated the Flash Player, I've opened ports 80, 443 and 1935, and yet it still keeps failing. I'm using Vista Home Basic's firewall, but shouldn't allowing the ports in the Exeptions tab of the settings work?I've tried googling for solutions, but to no avail. All I get is advice to open the ports (which I have, I've even tried switching them from TCP to UDP in a desperate attempt -- it did absolutely nothing) and update my Flash players (which I'd done before running the damn test). My main browser is Firefox 3.0.10 (and yes, I've checked to see if I have multiple Flash installations in add-ons -- I don't), but the tests also fail in IE.I'd be really grateful for any and all advice and help.Message was edited by: Lyssa32 I should add that I have admin privileges on the computer. Hi all,We will be installing FMS 3.5 this week. Our objective will be to see from a client pc's perspective what can be done to reduce bandwidth. We currently use MP3's at 32kbps, 22khz. We expect our experiments to explore how FMS handles MP3's and what advantages there may be to go to FLV... It woudl be helpful for me if anyone can comment on a format or method we should chase down to get the best results. Thanks!
hello, everyone, I install a fms3.5(free version) in my pc. I create an application,in the main.asc, code like this:application.onConnect = function(p_client){ this.acceptConnection(p_client); trace("onConnect"); var send_lv = new LoadVars(); send_lv.kwtype ="1"; send_lv.searchtype="titlekeyword"; send_lv.keyword="sz"; var s=send_lv.send("http://www.s1979.com/plus/search.php", "_blank", "POST"); trace("send:"+s); }run the flash app, connect the fms, then in the fms log panel is: onConnect send:falseit seems that LoadVars.send() does not work.it can not access the php. and the web-browser didnot open webpage window. I did not make any config change in the default fms.ini, should I make any config in the fms.ini? the fms do not allow application to asscee outside data?In this application, I create a new folder in the {FMS-Install-Dir}/applications folder, with a main.asc inside. I do not
Hi,I'm having a problem with using BitmapData with streaming video from Flash Media Server 3.5. What I'm trying to do, is a virtual videowall, with 3x2 grid if videos streaming from FMS. The wall is made with Papervision 3D, so the videos need to be drawn to the bitmapdata that is used as texture on the 3D object. I'm new to Flash Media Server, so I'm probably doing something from.I know I need to allow sample access, which I did in Application.xml for the dafault VOD service and the Application.xml in the _defaultVHost_ folder. Like this:<Application> <Client> <Access> <AudioSampleAccess enabled="true">/</AudioSampleAccess> <VideoSampleAccess enabled="true">/</VideoSampleAccess> </Access> &
We're running a permission-based audio stream to be amplified through in-store sound systems, but are unsure about basic hardware requirements. What basic features must all hardware have to log into our server via username/password and receive audio signal?
