Hi, Iam having this problem: Iam running tv-like app which streams bunch of videos; after last video in row finishes, app loads new videoloop from xml and starts stream again. When a client connects, everything works just fine with 1 exception: the clients stream is slowly increasing delay from source. Ive tried to check netStream.bufferLength during playing (its set to 3s on the beginning) and i found out, thats its slowly growing. - after like 5 minutes of playing its around 30s; my only suggestion is, that client isnt playing video fast enough... which sounds kinda stupid to me... (ive checked this on many systems / networks and iam pretty sure it has nothing to do with processor/network overload) please, anyone could have solution for this ?Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks, J.S. Application code is here: application.allowDebug = true; application.onAppStart = function() { trace("STREAM>>> Application TV stream started"); application.loopArray = new Arr
Hi, Is it possible to stream 2 or more cameras on one computer with Flash Media Encoder, or are you restricted to one camera per machine? Cheers
I'm using Flex and trying to call FMS3 over a netconnection. I want the responder to return values to Flex. Basically I just make a call theNetConnection.call ( "myFunction", new Responder ( hadSuccess, wasFailure) ); private function hadSuccess( returnedValue:Object) { Alert.show ( returnedValue.toString () ); } private function wasFailure( failure:Object) { Alert.show ( failure.toString() } Then on the server roughly...... myFunction = function ( ){ return "It worked"; } The server gets called and then the responder gets called with success, but there is never any value returned. What am I missing?????????
Hi, Can anyone help me out, I would like to be able to send a request to a URL from FMS3 in a .asc file. I can do it from the client in AS3 using… flash.net.SendToURL(request); Is there any equivalent functionality in FMS3? Is it possible to supply credentials for that request as well, user / password? Cheers, Steve.
Hello, I'm having problems understanding how the connections work in FMS3 with flex 3. This is my code : quote: case "NetConnection.Connect.Success": Alert.show("Successful Connection to server"); enterRoom(); break; quote: public function enterRoom():void { _so= SharedObject.getRemote("so", _nc.uri, false); _so.addEventListener(SyncEvent.SYNC, updateUserList); _so.addEventListener(AsyncErrorEvent.ASYNC_ERROR, onAsync); _so.addEventListener("sendMessages", onMessage); _so.client = this; _so.connect(_nc); } The shared object does connect. The SyncEvent.SYNC event is dispatched, however when I try to do this : quote: private function sendMessage():void { _so.send("sendMessages", _myName, messageArea.text); messageArea.text=""; } I get an Async error : Property sendMessages not found on videoconf and there is no default value. The onMessage function doesn't trigger. Do you know why ? Additionally, how does the call() method work ? I keep getting a Call
The full screen button on the flv player doesn't work for me. When I press it, it appears like it is trying to respond, but nothing happens. I can right click the open video screen and get full screen to work that way, but not by using the button.
Hi All, I am using the Flash Media Encoder for the live broadcast. Is it possible to record the streaming FLV in the server side at the same time? I want to archive this files for further use. Thx for your help Dennis
The FMS management console is showing a number of clients/connections that clearly are not being actively used anymore -- no bytes have been transferred for hours or for several days in one case. I'm guessing that what's happened is that someone paused or stopped the video but left the browser window open, thereby leaving the client alive. (I would have thought that FMS would close inactive connections after some defined period, but this doesn't seem to be happening in these cases, at least.) Does anyone know if there's a way to use the FMS management console to close these inactive clients? If not, can it be done from the command line?
We just started an FMS3 server. The video and audio is working fine to both intranet and our putlic but there are no controls at all. When I "published" the files I selected one of the pre-built skins but when that didn't work the web programmer did his own and that isn't working either. Any ideas?
"Please use "Attach Code" to include any sample code in the message.". MMM. There's no attach code link. The array.sort function doesn't sort in descending order, the output is the same. Formatted: http://pastebin.com/f3a320622 //Ascending var array = [{number:1}, {number:2}]; array.sort(function(a,b) { if (a.number < b.number) return -1; else if (a.number > b.number) return 1; else return 0; }); array.trace(); Formatted: http://pastebin.com/m625c53df //Descending var array = [{number:1}, {number:2}]; array.sort(function(a,b) { if (a.number < b.number) return -1; else if (a.number > b.number) return 1; else return 0; }, Array.DESCENDING); array.trace(); Here's the additional functions (trace): http://pastebin.com/f42937d95 Since they can't even fix the attach code thing, i have no hope they can fix this. But whatever.
I have downloaded the Authentication Add-in for use with FME 2.5 and have been unable to install it. I am trying to install it on my local machine that is running the developement version of FMS. If anyone can shed some light that would be great. Thanks
I installed and configured FMS 3 and I believe the 1st time I logged in it work. I'm using the same login info and now it won't connect. The only thing I can think of is my IP address changes everytime I connect to the internet for the day. That might be my problem but it's just a guess. If that is the problem how to I re-assign the new IP address? If it isn't the problem...HELP!
I'm a web designer that has volunteered to get FMS3 up and running on our server. I installed FMS3 locally using the following tutorial ( http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashmediaserver/articles/beginner_vod_fm3.html) and everything worked just fine. I then installed FMS3 on our server and made a test site to try to get the video to play. No dice. I'm using Javascript to connect to the .flv file. Here's the code I'm using: <script type="text/javascript"> var so = new SWFObject('flash/mediaplayer.swf','mpl','640','500','7'); so.addParam('allowfullscreen','true'); so.addParam('allowscriptaccess','always'); so.addVariable('file','rtmp:// serverIP/vod/AdobeBand_640.flv'); so.addVariable('width','640'); so.addVariable('height','500'); so.addVariable('image','images/placeholder_image.jpg'); so.addVariable('frontcolor','0x222222'); so.addVariable('backcolor','0xEBEBEB'); so.addVariable('lightcolor','0xA0410D'); so.addVariable('showdigits','true'); so.addVariable('showvolume',
Has anyone tried FMS3 on Windows Server 2008?
Ok here is the situation we have a FMS server setup behind our Firewall with the NAT running as well. The port 1935 is open on the firewall for the FMS server and everything seems to be working internally but when I try to access the the stream from outside the network it does not work at all. The interesting thing is when I netstat the box that I am making the call from it is getting the 10.xxx.xxx.xxx private address from the FMS server and runs through the ports it should ( 1935, 80, 443 ) but I can not for the life of me figure out why it would be getting the 10. address and not the public IP.. Any help on this issue would be great.
I installed FMS 3 in my Server, but I can access to it and had a error mesage: <result> <level>error</level> <code>NetConnection.Connect.Rejected</code> <description>Admin user requires valid username and password.</description> <timestamp>Wed Oct 29 11:15:19 2008</timestamp> </result> Anyone have that problem? Please help me, thanks!
How using ActionScript 3.0 would be able to change streaming encode method from default to On to VP6? can any one expalin with code example in As 3.0 thanks Shane
I just installed FMS3 on a Windows 2003 server. I have been able to get the vodtest that shipped with it to work on the FMS3. When I test the files that I created with CS3 they work and the media server shows the client (me) accessing the stream. My goal however is to create a link from our web server to the FMS3 server. I have no idea how this goes and where to put what files.
I am having some difficulty with the application.onUnpublish event. I want the server to know when a client stops publishing so I decided to subscribe to the application.onUnpublish event. The problem is this works great in my test app but when I put it in my full application the event does not get to the server. Does anyone know what would stop this event from firing?
I was able to download streaming videos using RTMPE potocol by an application called replay catcher. Are there any new methods to protect our contents?
The flash server will hang sometimes. Here is the information: OS : Window Server 2008 We opened the ports 1935,443,80,19350 for both udp and tcp We used RTMPE for all connections. It was operating successfully to delivery videos before it hanged When It hanged,I checked the logs and found the following lines Duplicate license key : MY SERIAL NUMBER HERE Assert failed in .\admin\FCSAdminVHost.cpp line 112 What I suppose to fix the problem? What is the problem?

Hi all, I've been working on a streaming video/music site for a while and have been testing on my computer. Everything is working smoothly, I can connect without any problem, watch the videos, and listen to the music. Now I have asked the client to test and he says he cant see any of the videos or hear any music! I've tried using my colleagues computers and alas, they are not able to connect either. I have absolutely no idea what the problem could be. How can one computer (my computer) be able to connect, but no others? Anyone have any ideas where I can start finding a solution to this problem? I'm really stuck here! Your help is much appreciated. Thanks, Ryan
I tried posting this in DW forum, but no result, so I thought I would try here. While working in DW MX, I cannot view the page in the browser. It seems that IIS is stopped. When I try to start it, I get the above error. It looks like FMS, which I also have on the development machine, is controlling port 80. I tried stopping FMS, but it will not release the port. Is there any way to make these two coexist? I don't really want to remove either one, but I need to make changes to the websites I have developed under DW MX. Thanks in advance Will
Hi, Is it relevant to get a streaming server to display 5 Megs Flash banners (FLV) or they are not big enough to get one? Or just having a swf calling an external FLV file is enough? Thank you for your help.
