I was reading a review of Premiere Elements 11, and it was noted that PE11 had limited render options which can result in poor quality output files:"Rendering quality is limited to the original format, which is usually consumer-grade and heavily compressed, so adding an effect can degrade the video quality in the final rendered version when viewed at full size, especially in fast-moving scenes. Hi all,have spent my hole day at my brother but still no idea what this error could be. After having this project in APE 8.0 and editing it now with the newly bougt Verion 10.0, everything was fine... Opened and saved it several time but today there were suddenly problems: Even a complete new project with the same material and same cut is now broken after having saved and exportet it.... When we are trying to open the project, we're getting the error:--------------"Premiere Elements has encountered an error.CONTINUE--------------And in the next window:-------------Project could no be loaded. It's damaged oder has old elements (not same words, cause my brother is using the german version)--------------I have tried everything so long: new installation, opening the damaged project on another computer with ELements 8.0 (identical error also there), deleting cahe, deleting Prefs, loading Auto-Backup (also damaged) and so on... Hi All,I have recently purchased & installed Premiere Elements 11 on my Windows 7 64bit Dell laptop. I found the tutorials very helpful and was able to successfully create my first project - importing a 46 minute AVCHD file4GB m2.ts shot on my Panasonic HC-V100 in Record Mode HG1920: 1920x1080 25f/s Audio 48kHz. When creating the project I selected: New Project>Change Settings>PAL>AVCHD>Full HD 1080i 25 andTicked ‘Force Selected Project Setting on this Project’ (I'm in the UK hence selecting PAL)I added titles then created a menu and scenes using a still photo 2mb jpg 3456x2304 300dpi for the menu background. So far so good - really pleased with the results on screen. Next I selected Publish>Disc > selected AVCHD Add Name>Choose 1920x1080i>Burn to Folder. I then burned the BDMV Folder to DVD using the inbuilt DVD burner in my laptop.This successfully produced a DVD with menus and titles which will play on my Blu-ray player. I uploaded a video to You Tube (which I have doen numerous times before) only this time there was no audio.  I was able to create an AVI file just fine.  It's just when I uploaded it that there was a problem.  Any ideas?

I am just getting started on a project that someone else had filmed previously. They used a boom mic for this interview when there was A LOT of background noise. Most of the background noise is people talking. I have tried a few different things to try and remove the sounds, but I can't get it to mute the both male/female voices in the background. I've tried learning the sound model and then using the sound remover. I've only been capturing about a second at a time. Is there any hope for me to reduce this noise? I've also tried the parametric EQ, but that doesn't really seem to help because there is so much noise of so many different pitches. Yes, I know, the key to good sound is recording good sound, but unfortunately I did not have this option as I did not do it myself. Any ideas or am I pretty much out of luck?Thanks!

  I am very new to video but have a short-ish fused problem and am looking up a hill.  Very recently I obtained 11 DVDs from YESVIDEO via Walmart.  A relative had taken my mother's many 8 and super 8 film strips and gotten the film converted into digital .  Problem is now mine when we found that those DVD's are not in any readily useable format.  We want to play these old "movies" --- or parts of them --- for my father (95 years old) at the Thanksgiving reunion.  Since I am known in the family for being a Photoshop guy (since the 1980's) I now have the YES DVDs and Premier Elements 12.  Plus Elements 12.  And no experience in this type of photography.I have gotten a converter off the web and it works alright.  And I can play the DVDs in Premier from the DVD without a converter.Next step seems to elude me.  What files should I copy onto the hard drive from the Walmart DVDs to support editing and outputting in a video format?  Exactl

I have decided to put together a list of resources to help one get up to speed with the program, and even take it beyond normal video editing.One of the first places to learn how to do things in PrE is this sub-forum, Tips & Tricks. However, that might not be the best place to start. I'd suggest "walking before one attempts to run," and then to come back to this sub-forum. Hi.I have just installed PE 8 on my PC and I have an nVidia GeForce 7950 GT graphics card installed (with the latest driver).When I playback fully-rendered AVI video in the desktop monitor from the timeline in 'Enable GPU playback' mode the video appears rather pixelated and blocky (undesirable), although the playback motion is smooth. If I playback the same video from the timeline after I disable GPU playback the video now appears crisp, however the playback motion is choppy.Obviously I'd rather use 'Enable GPU playback' mode to make full use of my graphics card but the quality of the video is noticeably worse than not using it. Strangely enough, if I scrub through the timeline, the video looks crisp, but when I hit the space bar to playback video automatically, the video appears pixelated again. This occurs on fully-rendered video and even without any transitions or effects being applied.This does not happen when using Adobe Premiere Pro or Microsoft Movie Maker (which I also have in

Hello, I just resolve my problem to install Premiere Element 11 on my Ultrabook.The new problem is that Windows 8 is installed on this Ultrabook and, and Apple doesn't still uprgrate QuickTime to run on windows 8.Do you think I really need it ?For now I wait and it seems to run for my AVCHD files.I suppose the problem will come with my MOV files ?

I want to crop a bit from the left and a bit from the right of a movie [not equal amounts].In Photoshop it is easy, but in Premiere Elements 9 Trim and Crop just appear to zoom in.I just want to be able to remove without rescaling unattractive parts.Stupidly being new to video as it is in Photoshop I just assumed [always dangerous] tht would be possible.Ideally I do not want the result to be rescaled and suffer a loss in quality. Ideally I would like this then to be centered. I can live with a black border where I removed the offending edges.There seems to be no way for the user to determine how much lefrt, right , top and bottom.sorry if I posted this in the pro section but there seems to be no forum for Premeiere Elements. There have been several questions on how to structure Project folders for the best editing, and then clean-up, when a Project is completed, so I am going to offer my normal scheme, with comments on why I have chosen this folder structure. In my case, I have one more level, than many users employee (the “Client” folder), but with that exception, this structure should serve most users well. My folder structure is created, before I begin any Project. I also use a convention for most Assets, that allows me to first group all necessary Assets, but leaves the originals safe and away from the Project’s folders, so that a simple Delete cleans up the system, but does NOT affect any originals, with the exception of Captures from miniDV tape, which will be separately archived, and never reused - I would do the Capture again.XYZ Advertising (client)          Project Name (my Project "root folder")         &nb

Often, one needs to add an element to “call out” a person, or object in the video. There are several methods to call attention to the person, or object, but one way is to just add an “arrow,” pointing to that person/object.This can be done easily in the Titler, and one can use Shapes, or characters in a particular font set. Wingdings and Webdings are two font families with all sorts of arrows, and other symbols, that can be very useful.To accomplish this, one would Open Titler, and then choose a character in a font family, that has the right look. That character would be added in the Text box, after one deletes any “placeholder text” from the Title. For this example, I used Wingdings 3 arrowhead, and chose a font size that was adequate for my image. I adjusted the Stroke and Fill to suit. Note: in PrE’s Titler, one must first add a Style w/ Stroke and Fill, before they can make the adjustments. For some time, there has been discussion on the use of SmartSound® with various versions of Adobe Premiere®. Often, there is a bit of confusion, as to what SmartSound is and how best to use it. I hope to provide some information on both the programs as well as the "Series," that make up SmartSound music.First, here is some background. SmartSound’s programs come in basically three "flavors" now. First, there is QuickTracks for Premiere®. This is a plug-in for PrPro/PrE. It works from within the NLE program itself. Then, there are two versions of Sonicfire Pro®, which is a stand-alone program that is similar to QuickTracks, but offers so very much more in the way of power with the Strata Series® (and other Multi-track music) Series. One of these is the ExpressTracks® version, which is free with the purchase of any Strata Series disc., and the other is the full Scoring Edition®, which can be purchased separately, or upgraded free, if one has a registered copy of Sonicfire Pro 4 with S/N.

Once, most people were shooting to miniDV tape, and then capturing from that to a DV-AVI file for editing. In that Capture, it was a byte for byte transfer of data, and then written to a DV-AVI file, with very light compression.Now, nearly everyone is editing some form of highly-compressed Video file. At some point, after the image being recorded strikes the sensor, and the final file on the camera's memory card, or similar, there is compression being applied to the data, and it's much more significant. Often, it's a form of the H.264 CODEC, but not always. Still, some compression is being applied. This compression goes pretty much unnoticed, since the material is HD to begin with, but it is there.Once edited, if one then goes directly to BD (Blu-ray Disc), there will be one more layer of compression, either to H.264, or HD MPEG-2. Many folk seem to have issues, when attempting to install Adobe products. This is a checklist of things to do, prior to attempting to install. It's general, and covers most Adobe programs.run as AdministratorExtract any archived downloaded file, including the FULL folder structure.install to C:\ only. You can do custom folders, from the default, but install on C:\. Also few Adobe programs do well with a full network installation.turn off all AV, pop-up blockers, spy-sweeping softwareturn off all firewalls, and lower the security settings, if necessary. Look for individual "safeguards," and turn those off - differs by OShave plenty of free space on your C:\check your OS's language and keyboard language against the language that you are using to install, and also the language that you DO installIf installing from physical media, and you are having issues, try to Copy your DVD to your computer's HDD, and attempt to install from there.Good luck,Hunt

I want to mute certain parts of my video in Adobe Premiere Elements 11. I am able to reduce the decidels using the Audio Mixer, but I want to be able to just mute certain parts rather than constantly drag the pointer up and down. Is there anyway I can do this? I thought by clicking on the mute box, on parts I wanted to mute, it would work but that doesn't seem to be the case.
