Hi all, I'm on the market for a new computer, and think I've finally made the decision to switch from working on PC's to an iMac. I started typing up a whole post here detailing all the different iMac options in the hopes that someone more knowledgeable than myself can assist me in choosing the right machine for me, but stopped after realizing how long the post was going to be ☺️ So instead I'll just ask this-if I call up Apple support and ask them to help me figure out what specs I need for my work, can I trust them to give me an honest opinion? Or will they just push me to get more than I need just so they can make a sale? I'm totally unfamiliar with Apple products and don't know enough about computer specs to know what I truly need for my work and what's unnecessary. I need someone who's familiar with how Adobe programs work to guide me in choosing my new computer. Does anyone have any experience dealing with sales reps at Apple? Tia!
Hello. I'm having trouble playing back video in my timeline after i speed it up. Sometimes anything over 300% speed will lag. I have a pretty hefty system so I'm not sure why it would lag so bad. GPU acceleration CUDA is enabled. Windows graphics settings are set to GPU high performance. I usually use Iphone .MOV HEVC 4k footage. I can play anything back in normal speed 4k full res in timeline without rendering but when i speed it up it lags. I have Premiere Pro installed on an M.2 SSD but i keep the footage on either an internal HD or portable HD. When the final video is exported it is fine but id like to preview smoothly before export. I have 2 32" 4k monitors 1 hooked up to internal graphics and 1 hooked up to GPU. I use the one hooked up to GPU for premiere pro. Maybe if i plugged both into GPU and turn off internal graphics? Hello Experts,I am sufferring from slow rendering speed and preview of my after effect projects(having couple of effects only I will say) and makes the learning experience quite slow. Below is my current configuration and looking for an upgrade( budget no concern ) so that atleast my learning speed can be faster. I am not a professional and wanted to learn the tool in a better way. I mostly edit canon 4k footage coming from my EOSR6 default settings with some 2D animation sometimes. My rendering take hours and I want to solve that problem. My Current Setup - Intel R Core TM i7 - 10750H CPU @2.59Ghz32GB DDR4 RAM150 GB SSD free on Hard DriveNVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660Ti I checked intel core i912900K , AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX , DDR4 - DDr5 etc, but I am very confused with reviews and not sure which one to select. I am ok with either laptop or desktop but only thing is for my video editing requirement above , software should be able to render in decent amount of time. Please

I need recomendations for a replacement for my 27" iMac that no longer runs Premiere Pro, Media encoder or Photo shop, the three main products I use. the i7 core is defective and has no solution for that. Apple will change the graphics card but most comments say that the change actually makes destroys the rest of the computer. How are other people dealing with this? I am a video editor and need to know what hardware is working for others. Thanks.
So my computer has just spat the dummy, does anyone know if the latest Imac will be ok for PP and cutting in 4k, or will I need something more highly spec'd ?Apple iMac (4.5K Retina, 24-inch, 2021) 512GB, 8-Core GPU Many thanks

I am migrating from a laptop to a Windows tower computer. I want to start off with a configuration that should hold me for a few years, but I recognize that I can, for example, replace the video card with a newer model down the line. I have mainly used After Effects, Media Encoder and Illustrator, dabbled in Character Animator, and may get into Premiere Pro. I am increasing my use of these components, and may move into others. I want to find a reasonable line between cost and what the system will do with CC. I will likely spend 4 to 6 hours a day using the system I purchase. Some questions.Human computer interface. I now do most of my work with touch screen, touch pad and keyboard. I plan to go from a 16 inch monitor to 24 inch. Is it reasonable to expect that I can continue with touch pad and touch screen, or is a mouse more effective?Video card. I will go with something from NVIDIA due to the need for OpenCL compatibility. Likely from the GeForce RTX line. Cost here is a big factor.
What are some inexpensive graphics cards to add to a new Windows tower computer system that will be good in 5 years in Premiere Pro, Illustrator, After Effects and any other CC program I may get into? I understand the need for 6+ gigs of GPU memory. We can ignore VR in this discussion.
Hi all, I recognize Adobe official suggest the first thing to update to make Premiere Pro runs better is the RAM. I have a laptop that comes with 16gb (8+8) RAM. A friend of mine who also does some video editing told me it's extremely unlike for me to need more than 32GB ram, so I plan to upgrade it in the nearby future. I have did a little research on the topic, but everyone is discussing whether 16+16 or a single 32 is better. I KNOW 16+16 is better than 1 single 32, but what about 32+8(total of 40) vs. 16+16? Let's assume my machine supports 32gb ram first. If 32+8 is similar to 16+16, then it seems buying 1 single 32ram to upgrade is definitely better: leaves room for further upgrade and slightly cheaper. Thank you very much! Saludos!

Hello!I am looking for some help concerning buying a new computer for (amongst other things) video editing in premiere pro and photo editing in lightroom. My absolute maximum budget is 1600 usd, but I really hope to find something a bit cheaper, maybe at around 1200 usd?I am not editing huge projects, mostly 1-5 minute long. I am new at this and I am not sure what is the most important. But I have been looking at computers with Core i7 prosessors, 15 inch screen, a minimum of 16 RAM, VRAM at minimum 2GB and minimum 512 GB hard drive (I want to be able to back up my photos when I travel). I travel a lot, so it would be great if the battery was good and that it doesn't weigh a ton as well. My company prefers Lenovo and HP, but i think other brands also can be concidered.I have been looking at Lenovo Yoga 730Core i7 8GB 512GB SSD 15.6", but somebody said in a fora that you can get a better laptop for video editing for the same price, but did not mention any examples.Does anyone have
Hi everyone, I have an AMD Ryzen 5 1600, 32GB RAM and a Nvidia 1060-6GB. When I built my system I followed all recommendations and have SSDs and of course cache & scratch is separted on it's own SSD, CUDA is activated, etc. I had a small upgrade budget so I purchased a Nvidia RT 3050-8GB. I cleaned the media cache database and installed fresh studio drivers. I also configured the program setting in the Nvidia panel like setting opengl rendering and MFAA on, etc. Even when editing at 1080, whenever I added a mogrt or anything it sometimes spins and slows down. One specific mogrt I downloaded from Adobe even crashed during rendering on both cards as it seems the cards can't handle it. With the regular effect and editing I saw no difference between the two cards and when I render it still only utilizes about 30% of the GPU and 4 out of 6 GB and it was only about 10 minutes faster. I see the CPU usage at like 90% during rendering and memory used 28/32GB. So my
