Hi all,I will be doing a lot of visual effects work in After Effects 2018. Raw footage will be 4K material. I will be editing & colouring in Premiere Pro 2018 at 1080p, although the final export will be in 4K once editing is complete. I would like to know which graphics card would work best with my current setup?Presently, I have a Geforce GT 740, which I'll upgrade. As far as budget goes, I guess I'd like to know which graphics card would be good in the $250+ area and the $500+ area, which is my limit for now. Greetings,I'm planning to get a new MacBook Pro to replace my current laptop. However I'm undecided about the choice of graphics options which are the following:Radeon Pro 560X with 4GB of GDDR5 memoryRadeon Pro Vega 16 with 4GB of HBM2 memoryRadeon Pro Vega 20 with 4GB of HBM2 memoryI understand that the recommended VRAM is 4GB. I would like to know whether would there be any difference in terms of Premiere Pro performance between these different graphic options. I want to be able to decide whether or not it would be worth going for the more expensive option or if the differences in Premiere Pro performance are so minimal that it wouldn't warrant the additional cost.Many thanks,
So I ran across this video as I was looking to upgrade my PC: 8K Video Editing BEAST! - 16 Core ThreadRipper for Premiere Pro and Resolve - YouTube The impression I received from the video was you would be able to playback and scrub 4k, h.264 media, without needing to transcode or proxy anymore. So I built a very similar machine, but was very sad to find that though playback was solid, scrubbing still chugs badly. I know that h.264 is very poor for editing in general, but I was hoping to make proxies or transcoding a thing of the past.Diving into deeper research, I saw that Threadripper isn't actually the best choice for premiere, I would been wiser to get an Intel 9900k, based on Pudget's tests. My question is, are any of you able to edit 4k h.264 (like from a GH4, Sony A7SII etc) with smooth playback and scrubbing without proxies or transcoding? If so, what kind of hardware are you running for it? Furthermore, which hardware components have the greatest effect
I'm new to the forum and somewhat new to Premiere. I have a mid-level desktop system (well, at least I don't think it's terrible), and I'm looking to upgrade a component or two. I've read the hardware recommendation FAQ and I get the gist, but I'm hoping you kind folks could tell me what my setup could benefit from specifically. I have a system with a 1TB NVME M.2 Samsung Evo 960 and a 500GB SSD Samsung Evo 850. My understanding is that the best configuration would be:1TB NVME M.2: OS, Apps, Disk Cache500GB SSD: Project Files / Source Files-footage-images-etc.I typically archive my projects to a local NAS + Cloud storage, so 500GB works fine as a project file folder. I don't mind swapping them though and having my disk cache on the SSD if the performance difference isn't that great. My machine also has a second NVME, and I do have the option of the following...1TB NVME M.2: OS, Apps500GB SSD: Project Files / Source Files500GB NVME M.2 (partition from another drive): Disk CacheI'd rather not partition my other NVME drive, but I'm willing to if there is enough of a performance difference by having 3 drives. I have 1 SSD of 240GB (where W10 and Adobe premiere).And I have 2 HDD discs of 1tb each, both are empty.The files of media cache, scrach files, videos, audio, where I keep them? Hi guys, so I got some option on which I would use either Adobe Premiere or Final Cut:Laptop with i7-8550u and MX150Laptop with i7-8750h and GTX1050MacBook Air with i5-8210Y (possibly I would use Final Cut on this one)I don't have the opportunity to make some comparison neither I found anything on youtube about their performance on the PLAYBACK, which is the thing that worry me the most, not the Rendering.So which one of those should perform the best PLAYBACK with footage of 4k 60fps?
I think the Title sais it all. I use the media encoder and the maximum CPU usage i get is 27% and most of the time it is 18%I can't find any settings that force 100% CPU usage, can you help me?
I just ordered a dell XPS basic version (i5-8300H, gtx 1050(4gb gddr5), 8gb ram, 256 PCI SSD), I wonder if that would run these programs (after effects, premiere) well? This version cost approx.1,550 $ in Germany so my intention was in 2 yrs or so I could upgrade RAM and memory when I need to. but is the processor and graphics card good enough? I won't be using the programs every day. But I bought the laptop for the main purpose of building on my art and animation skills.

As I travel frequently, I want to invest some change into a workstation before upgrading my desktop.I have been looking into MSI, Asus, and Alienware. I'm looking for a compatibility list, recommendations, or advice on professional 360 cameras, in the market of 3,000 - $6,000. I've found the stitching process to be the biggest pain point. GoPro's Fusion Studio is not reliable with the fusion 360 footage: it crashes regularly, doesn't import large videos that the device is capable of shooting and can be viewed unstiched, and the UI doesn't behave on my machine. And its still honestly the best stitching software I've used. I haven't spent much time with 360 footage in the last year or so before this fusion footage fell into my lap, so maybe the process is easier then I'm making it out to be now. I'm looking at purchasing a camera at the $3,000-$5,000 for studio usage, and at that price point I want to ensure good results and hopefully less pain for myself. Hello, I just wanted to check with you pro's to see if my rig is up to the job.I am new to Premier and i'm experiencing really slow performance when trying to edit even short videos. Basically, I have footage filmed on the DJI Mavic 2 (4k), when I add a few clips to my sequence, playback is very jittery. This makes editing almost impossible for me.I tried changing my sequence to 1080p and downscaling the 4k footage but this didn't make much different. Hi - I'm building a new machine for my Creative Cloud Suite - upgrading from an i7 machine to i9 9900K. I originally bought an M.2 NVMe drive for the operating system - but reading a few notes on line suggests that I'd be better putting my new Samsung 860 SSD as Windows 10 operating system and using the M.2 drive as the Project Files drive. Any comments / advice on that please ? - eg how critical is the Project Files drive read/write speeds during processing in Premiere Pro?.Just for info - I'm adding a 1TB SSD Samsung 860 Media Cache drive for all media I'm working on in the project (live) and sticking to HDD for large Media store offline.RAM will be 64GB Corsair 3200 DDR4
The list of recommended graphics cards provided by Adobe is quite out of date. Nearly all the GeForce cards are no longer on the market. My current graphics card was never on that list, it is the GeForce GTX 760, and this is why (according to Adobe Support) I get the dreaded "Error code: -1609629695" on a regular basis. It happens almost every time I use the Lumetri Color effect (and other effects) - which is often. So, I want to replace my graphics card. I want something that can do some of the heavy lifting, especially now that I'm dealing with 4K footage more and more often.I have recently contacted Adobe Support asking for an updated list, and was directed to this forum. hi, I'm currently using a 2009 Macbook Pro (MacBookPro5,5), and I'm curious which version of Premiere would be optimal for this computer. it only has 4 GB RAM and 10.11.6 on it. I know this computer is obsolete, but, it is going to be replaced this year (I'm just not sure what to replace it with yet.) Thanks

Hello, I am looking to build a workstation PC for 4k video editing as well as advanced color grading and After Effects. I was initially aiming for a new RTX 2070 since it was within the budget but I found out a good deal on an GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition, 200$ cheaper than 2070. The performance difference is quite similar(in Premiere Pro & DaVinci Resolve), so which one would you go with?My main concern is how long would it last in a video & color grading rig, with moderate use, no overcklocking, stock.. etc. From tests I've seen, PP and Resolve are not using the GPU as much as I thought, even when working with 4k footage. It's only when encoding and using a lot of effects stacked with intense grading there is noticeable performance gains. I won't have a lot of projects requiring such an aggressive use of effects, but when I do I want a smooth performance and also future proofing my rig.So, would it good idea to go for the used 1080 Ti? Or better get the new RTX 2070?System de

I realize in the long run going with the 7740x gives me a chipset with more support, but looking into synthetics it seems the 5960x is a better CPU overall. Hello there, I am currently in the process of building a laptop for multimedia and productivity purposes, with the most storage-sensitive application I will running is likely Premiere. I will mostly be using graphic design software (Photoshop, Illustrator) and basic 3d sketching software for set plans as part of my job, however I will be working on music videos (1080p) in my spare time and wont be going near 4k/long projects for quite a while. So here are my thoughts/questions:1) The Laptop I am building has 3 drive bays available, 1 x 2.5" SATA & 2 x M.2 (Nvme ready) slots. I have seen the puget systems article and video relating to the 2015 edition of P-Pro and that a 3 drive setup is optimal - is this still the case?2) I am having to be quite budget conscious so i cant go getting a 4tb ssd and two 1tb nvme's - which would obviously be ideal. So I will state what setup(s) I am thinking of and if anyone has any pointers or advice, it would be greatly appreciated. To reference what
