I have decided to build my own computer for video editing. I would produce about 3 videos a week, need to have it work relatively quickly, since I run my own business and don’t have time to babysit the rendering, or stop editing vids for hours at a time. I use premier pro and after effects, usually work with multiple windows open, and import several files/project. I export mainly into mp4 formats, and upload to 3rd party sites. So, I don’t need to be able to edit/render/display more than 1080p. Ive been reading a lot of the forum recommendations for minimum requirements, and put together the following parts list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DjFJbX I’d love to get feedback, particularly on the video card, ram, cpu combination. I own a small production company in Australia and we have a unique project for a fitness app filming exercises on a Green screen with equipment in the hundreds of clip shooting 4k RAW and ending up with compressed H.264 and H.265 Apple Watch, Iphone and Apple TV files turned around in 2 weeks.  We have solved every issue except render times and a few months ago installed 2 Synology enterprise 10Gbe NAS units so the VFX artists can work on a centralised file, grading is in Resolve, Keying and effects in Ae with Red Giant, Neat Video + Reel Motion plugins across most clips.  Originally I had 8 Mac Computers setup as slaves in a render farm running Squidnet and 4 x 12 Core Mac Pros maxed out as workstations but after weeks and weeks of downtime trying to get this to work I had to kill the render farm and export through media encoder manually to every machine which worked but labour intensive and not a scalable solution.  In the middle of all this my VFX guys have been at me

I am currently using a 2012 iMac 27-inch 3.2 GHz i5, 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX 1024 MB.It has not been cutting it in Premiere in general anymore, and with VR, it won't render or export transitions, even though I have GPU Acceleration enabled. So I think it's time to upgrade.I'm wondering what the recommendations out there are? I am locked into buying a Mac through work, but that is my only constraint. What do you guys recommend is needed? The baseline, and then for optimal performance?

I see a lot of advice on how to install Cuda...But should I install it on my Mac computer?and if so why is it not shipped with Premier anyway?or After Effects..Im on an iMac at work icore7 nividia graphics cardadobe Premier CC 2018.ThanksGraham

Hello, can an Intel Xeon 15620 @2.4 GHz and an NVIDIA Quadro 600 run the latest version of Premiere Pro, working with 720 or 1080p? The machine has 16gb RAM. I won't be doing anything hardcore, mainly small 2-5 minute sequences with a Dslr and external audio.Thank you!

I am building a new machine and thinking about buying a AMD RX 580.   I know that NVIDIA supports CUDA whereas AMD supports OpenCL. Ive read that Adobe supports CUDA more than OpenCL, is this true?For an average home user who creates family videos and edits photos, would a AMD video card be acceptable?   Is it worth paying more for NVIDIA?

I can’t say the answer will be simple but I’ve been more or less beating my head against the wall over here, so I have finally decided that I absolutely needed to come to you and pray you’ll be able to give me some advice. Long story short-ish, after being a workaholic for years, one day I fell off my chair at work and felt paralyzed from the waist down. The squad came and I was required to have urgent spinal surgery. So I've bought such an incredibly modern laptop for field work that it doesn't have any normal USBs nor a SD card reader (it's a Dell XPS 9575)It does however have a MICRO sd card slot.. Hi All!Looking to build my first pc and am struggling with where to allocate money on the main components, and finding microATX compatible parts for Ryzens new 7 2700x and (if that CPU truly is the right fit for my needs). I am very new to video editing and have just started running Premiere on my Mac for some simple 1080p video editing.I am finding Premiere is running slow to the point colour grading is almost impossible and making it clear my machine needs an upgrade. The trouble I am having is knowing how best to upgrade, or if an upgrade will be a complete waste of money and I need a new computer.I am running on a mid 2011 iMac, 2.7 GHz i5, 12GB RAM, AMD Radeon 512 MB GPU and I still have a spinning disk.As far as I can work out upgrading to a SSD may help but my GPU may be the deal breaker as it is non-upgradable.Anyone out there any thoughts? Hi!I know, Mac Mini is good for offices tasks, print server, stuffs like that. But i edited videos, some a lot of them, in true. Its been so painfull! If i take a GPU with CUDAS and plug in my thunderbolt, my performance will improve?

I understand that in order to take advantage of the new Hardware Encoding during Export (Encoding Settings/Performance/Hardware Accelerated), you need a processor that features Intel's Quick Sync Video. My Intel i7 6950X does not. Is there any other way to enable the hardware setting (mine is grayed out)? I have an nVIDIA Titan X Pascal video card, which of course enables Hardware decoding w/Mercury Transit, but is there a way to use my video card for Harware Encoding in AME or is there any other way to get Hardware Accelerated encoding w/o an Intel processor that supports it?

Hey! I work a s a professional photographer and filmmaker. Most of the time i use Lightroom and Photoshop (60%), Premiere Pro (30%) and After Effects + other Applications like Illustrator and Indesign (10%). For the last six years i was on a macbook pro. Since Lightroom 7.2 update it run's ok, but premiere pro is a mess to edit in. I hate final cut so that's no option.... Recently i found out that premiere pro is not making really usage of my gpu acceleration. I have a macbook pro mid 2012 with 2,6ghz, 16gb ram and a geforce gt650m with 1gb VRAM. When using Open CL and Metal my Premiere pro often crashes! When switching to software only it runs smooth, but i always have to render and that takes really long sometime, but the playback is much better as with gpu support!? I will go for a new machine for my usage. First Idea was an imac pro with 8cores, 8gb Vega 56 graphics and 64gb ram + 1TB SSD. Reviews and Videos on Youtube say that building Lightroom Previews is much faster than an old

I just purchased a new 9560 and was super excited to start using Premiere to edit my 4k footage. Unfortunately, Premiere & Photoshop only use the integrated Intel card even though I set the Nvidia profile for the Adobe apps. This makes both programs barely usable and just far too laggy to work in. Is this a known issue and has anyone solved it? Thanks in advance.

Hey all,I've been using PrPro and Ae for more than 10 years, most recently recently on Win7 and Mac OS. I recently bought a super cheap ($650!!) Win10 tower at CostCo, and WOW, I am super impressed with the performance!This is the one:HP Performance Pavilion 580-137c Desktop - AMD Ryzen 7 - 4GB Graphics I haven't pushed any boundaries with the 3D rendering from Ae yet, just 2D Ae Dynamic Linked comps, multicam event video, and Lumetri Color, no pre-renders, just going straight to export "match sequence settings" (original capture media is Canon XF MPEG from model XF300).The thing is currently rendering circles around machines that cost 4X as much $$$ a few years ago. Also, I think PrPro may just be happier running on Win10 than on the other operating systems I have tried.I am pleased with this situation.Thanks!Eric D - CoralVision

peepsWe got the BM intensity shuttle last week and its been nothing but trouble--we have windows 10 pro (updated weekly) pc with i7 6800k proc 32 GB ram  512GB ssd 1 4 TB hdd. we are capturing to the ssd drive---and then cutting and pasting to the 4 tb hdd (if the capture works which we've only gotten a couple tapes to capture over a week)I can't get it to consistently connect--If I reinstall the drivers on a daily basis it seems to work for a bit and recognize the device. But even then---it will disconnect in the MIDDLE of capturing and stop capture.Anybody had any issues like this with this thing..possible solutions....I need to be able to set this up so other coworkers with little knowledge of the device can capture from it. (i.e reinstalling the drivers everyday and capturing the same tape 4 times before it captures the whole tape will not work.)The stuff I've read online points me in the direction of a new shorter usb 3 a to b cable and also a powered usb 3 hub (with power ad
