Since the 14th September we have had the following issues after Adobe Reader tried to update itself from 21.005.20060 to 21.007.20091Server 2016 RDS farm. We get a bit of a mixture of things happening. When opening from the start menu:Users get a windows installer prompt with a progress bar stating 'Preparing application for first use'Then an RdrServicesUpdater.exe - Application Error notification "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application." But Adobe opens fine.If opening a PDF file from explorer it can open fine for 2 or 3 times in a row. But then get a mixture of the above. Sometimes the installer appears upon close. Additionally the folder path C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Readercontains multiple folders 'acrocef_1' through to 'acrocef_32' which is using 5.2GB of data on a very small C: drive.I checked the link Basic Configuration — Deployment Planning and Configuration (adobe.com) It showed how to disab
Using Windows File Explorer, I navigate to a folder containing multiple PDF's. I click on a PDF in the list and it opens in Adobe Reader straight away. With the first PDF still open I know select another PDF from the list. This time it takes circa 20 seconds to open the PDF. Now I select another PDF (a 3rd one) from the list and it too takes circa 20 seconds to load and so on with a 4th 5th, etc. The laptop is Intel i5 with 8GB RAM running Windows 10 Enterprise so I don't think it's a limitation of the hardware. It's running Sophos antivirus but as the first PDF loads straight away and only subsequent PDF's are slow I don't think it's Sophos. Anyone seen this behaviour before and perhaps can advise how it was resolved?
MacOS 11.6. Tried to install Acrobat reader, and the installation process got stuck at 3/4 of running package script and pretty much froze the system. Had to use terminal command to shutdown. Wonder if this is a known issue in this community.

Every time I open a document in Reader that I want to print, the printer chosen is one that's not connected to my computer. That printer is also not my Windows Default Printer. I can't find anywhere in Reader Settings to select which printer I want to be the default (which happens to be the one I've set as the Windows Default. Is there a way to do this? Hallo,I have installed on my pc Acrobar Reader DC and also A.D.E 4.5; both upgraded to the last version; both logged-in with the same (my) Acrobat ID.I bought an .acsm ebook and also downloaded the corresponding drm pdf file (located in the "My Digital Editions" folder). In ADE I've added the .acsm file to the library so I can open and read that ebook in ADE but I really want to open and read it using Acrobat Reader DC but an error is displayed telling that there was an error opening the document because the protection plug-in required was unavailable. I tried to search a solution in adobe forum and I found this:https://community.adobe.com/t5/digital-editions/my-adobe-digital-editions-drm-pdf-ebook-reads-fine-but-why-can-t-i-read-in-acrobat-using-the-same/m-p/10584268?page=1 but I'm not able to open the "Developing digital rights management (DRM) plug-ins | Adobe Developer Connection" link (posted as a reply) because I'm not reading it from United States!!!! Hi, I use Adobe Reader DC every day and for the past couple of weeks or so it has been crashing whenever I either just try to start the application or open existing PDF files that used to work ok. I find if I uninstall and then reinstall I can open a PDF once, but then any subsequent attempts just case the application to hang. The behaviour has also been happening to a few of my colleauges so we are wondering if the September 2021 update is causing this. Any help or guidance you could give on how to troubleshoot this would be really useful as it is driving us crazy! Thanks 🙂
Hello. I can't seem to save a PDF once I've marked it up. All I get when I click save is a blank box. Can anyone help, please?
I work for a company who uses a Remote Desktop Server and we have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed. Recently we have been having issues where it keeps asking for an Adobe username and password. As this is a free version of the software, it is my understanding that this does not require an account. If i close the login request then i am not able to read my PDF, and most of my work revolves around PDF documents.I have asked my IT company to remove the application from the server, but this now will not uninstall, does anyone have any suggestions?
How do I copy and paste my comment on all pages

EDIT: I opened acrobat Pro to test and... now I can't reproduce the issue in reader or anywhere else so I guess we can close this thread before anyone wastes their time on it. Thanks. Any PDF I open, whether it's a scan or rendered or whatever, as soon as I move the cursor over the page, the background turns black. The text remains slightly readable sometimes, and any whitespace in a graphic like a logo, is also filled with black. There are these weird color squares around evreything. Sometimes when I click elsewhere within acrobat, the page goes back to normal for a second, but as soon as I do something else, black again. A weird thing is that when I scroll, the parts of the PDF that were offscreen are still white or whatever the appropriate color, until I move the mouse again that is.I've tried common suggestions in preferences, including page display >smooth text settings and resolution and accessibility > replace document colors. Please help me fix this.
I am not able to save a pdf document to my computer. When I choose "Save As" a blank pop up appears and stays there until I exit out of it. Before I had no problems saving pdf's to my desktop. Does anyone have a solution to my problem?
Hello,We have a PDF document that's 95% in Dutch, which show correctly, but there's a little piece in French in between, which doesn't show correctly. After every accent and apostrophe in the French part, there a big space before the text continues (like 2 spaces):Before this we got the popup that we needed to install an Extended Font Package for Reader DC, which we did. We've installed the file FontPack1500720033_XtdAlf_Lang_DC.msi downloaded from Adobe website, but after that we have the problem described here above.I've also updated to the latest version for Adobe Reader DC (2018), but it's the same.Any idea how we can get this to be shown correctly?Kind regards,Jody Wostyn
This is for Adobe Reader DC on Windows 10 Pro x64. If the user hits "Ctrl+F" immediately after starting Adobe Reader DC with a document and performs contextual search for some keyword(s), the results are nonsensical. The search acts weirdly (makes a long delay before producing the first result) and then the entries reported by the search have little or no relation to what was actually searched. Usually, the first letter of the word matches, but the rest doesn't Also, some portions of the document are not rendered for some reason: they appeared to be covered by a white rectangle (see the screenshot above). I don't know if these two issues are related. I believe the "white rectangle" issue has been present for a while, while "nonsensical search results" issue began to appear relatively recently. Closing the "Find" window and restarting the search again usually makes it work properly. This bug (bugs?) has been present in Adobe Reader DC for quiate a whi

Or any plans on this? Thanks, Dirk.
Hello I want to print an A1 PDF to scale & Im getting these dialogue boxes, can anyone help Thanks Tess
I used to be able to print .pdf files using the free Reader app on my 2012 Apple Macmini, but that function now fails. The machine is running High Sierra, OS X 10.13.6. and I can use Reader to open .pdf files without any problem and the File/Print option is available in the menu options. However, when trying to print I receive an error message that printing has "Stopped, Can't open private/var/spool/cups/tmp/abc123xxx" My investigations have confirmed the same files can be printed succesfully using Apple's built-in Preview app, confirming that the document, printer and file are good.I can also confirm other documents from Pages, Word and emails print quite happily from the same machine and printer setup, again localising the issue to Reader itself. There appear to be no new updates for Reader, and I note other forum entries also relating to this issue, I have tried the uninstall/reinstall fix, but without success.Anyone here able to suggest a solution please?
Whenever I try to save a fillable pdf form any more, it always loses all of my data I filled in and the form saves blank. It used to be when I saved a form, the data I filled in saved also. Is there still a way to save a fillable form with my data onto my computer and not lose all the data I entered?
Hello, Looking for soluion on the following error with Adobe Reader. Error states:"There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. If it is running, please exit and try again. (1014:1014)" I found some possible resolutions but looking to see if there are any concrete resolution/fix for the known error. So the only know fix is to Uninstall/Re-Install.
