usage occurs on button press, app.launchurl is inside a trusted js file in the javascript folder of reader dchow do i get reader to be cool? i'm just trying to get gmail and gcal to pop up Everything i looked at saying it only works in batch and console but i don't understand why it would work in acrobat versus reader. Is reader not allowed to app.launchurl? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi.I have a PDF form (a contract) with 4 pages and 5 OCGs/layers (1 background and 4 layers for 4 differents contracts).Page 3 need to be hidden when one of the four contract is selected (in a combobox).Since Reader can only delete pages spawned from a template, I created a template from page 3, I hidden it and spawned a new page as page 3.Layers are OK in the new spawned page.This is something I use to do with not-layered PDFs, it's OK until now.I used this script into the JS Console to spawn the page:this.getTemplate("P3.allianz").spawn({nPage: 2, bRename: false, bOverlay: false});I did this yesterday.Issue is: from now, using this script from the combobox or from the Console spawn the page but the four layers are flattened on page 3.When I clic the 5 layers icons to show/hide them: nothing change and all layers are displayed one over the other.How did I do to spawn a page with its layers yesterday and why can not I do it anymore today?What did I miss?Is spawning layered pages suppor

So I'm testing one of my forms on another computer as a person who wouldn't have an Adobe PDF printer, who would need a PDF printer to print only the fields that have been filled, who downloads and installs a popular one such as "CutePDF writer", and then I tested..After I printed and created a document, I opened it and got two blank pages with this error message on the second : ERROR: undefinedOFFENDING COMMAND: eexecSTACK:/quit-dictionary--markCan someone say why?Thank you.

I have a functioning set of tools in an inspection document (Utility industry recertification)  that allows the user to select grades by question by section. There are  seventeen sections and various numbers of questions per section...Using a document level java script, I can create a summary average per section (separate calculation per section), highlight a checkbox in the section summary based on the average score that covers the requirements in that section, change colors to point out items for review.... Hello,I am working with Acrobat Adobe XI. I am naming field names so that they self populate throughout the document that I am working on. One of my values, Unique ID, is comprised of "purch_order""-""clin""-""body_sn". Hi,I am using Acrobat Adobe XI. I have been successful at utilizing electronic signatures to lock down certain fields on a document/form. I am now trying to see what else I can program/script this field to execute when it is signed.The problem:My company has two different inspectors filling out the same inspection  forms when it comes to inspection time. Each inspector needs to sign the document. Inspector 1 will do various routine inspections. Then, Inspector 2 will do whatever is left on the inspection form. Basically, they are always switching up what they inspect between one another so there is no way for me to associate specific fields to specific electronic signatures. When Inspector 1 is done they will electronically sign the document, then send it along to Inspector 2 who will also electronically sign the document when completed. Is there a way to write a script within the electronic signature to automatically lock any fields that have been signed in and not lock the ones

Hi,I'm executing some code using the JavaScript Debugger in Acrobat. I'm exporting the output of that code using exportDataObject. The issue that I'm having is that I would like to save the data automatically without a dialog window popping up asking the user for the save location. I attempted to using the cDIPath parameter of the exportDataObject function, however, I realized that the use of this parameter is no longer allowed. I wanted to know if there is an alternative way to remove the dialog or is it simply no longer allowed.

Hi! Is it possible to use SetPreferenceEx to change Convert From PDF settings?I am using Acrobat XI Pro from VBA to convert a large number of PDFs to Word documents. In order to do this I need to programmatically change "Convert From PDF" settings, in particular disable the OCR.Is SetPreferenceEx the right function for that? Hi,I have some PDFs with Japanese texts. Mostly the texts are in either MS-Mincho or MS-Gothic font. Mostly the fonts are in TrueType (CID) type and Identity-H encoding. I have no problem on copying Japanese texts from Acrobat and pasting them in Notepad. This must be a proof of a proper ToUnicode map in the PDF.However, when I print the PDF into "Adobe PDF" printer driver, the copy & paste no longer works in the PDF output file. Now the Japanese texts are pasted as missing glyph character (a quotation mark in a square) in Notepad. I guess this means ToUnicode map was not created, most probably during the distillation process.On the other hand, I have a PDF with Japanese texts whose font is "MSゴシック" or "MS明朝" (these means MS-Gothic and MS-Mincho, respectively), and more importantly, they are in 90ms-RKSJ-H encoding. I would like to create a field on a form for a PO number which would increment by 1 each time the form it opened.  Example - the starting number would be 17001 and and stored in the form then next time the form is opened it would increment to 17002 and stored.

I am going round in endless circles trying to find the "official" statement about what has happened to Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional.One minute it is working, then one day I get a message saying I must reactivate. I follow the provided instructions, but the online reactivation doesn't work. The phone number provided doesn't work.I end up on a very unconvincing service desk call with someone on Skype. He even asks me for my Adobe password at one point. Pretty poor.So having bought this software and used it happily for a few years, Adobe have the right to take it away from me? Surely that is not right.If for some reason the product has had to be replaced, I am happy to pay a modest upgrade fee, but it is really hard to find out what the replacement product is, and how much it costs.One of the help desk calls wanted to charge me $375 per annum!!!!!!
