When I click on File/Export/Export Video/Media, nothing pop up.

HiI'm trying to find the coordinates for placing a new instance of a movie clip on the stage. When I manually place the movie clip, the coordinates are x = 216, y = 148 - which is what I'd expect.But to get it in approximately the same position on stage with code, I have to change the coordinates. The code I'm using is:var ant = new lib.ant() ant.x = 135 ant.y = 0 ant.scaleX = 0.15 ant.scaleY = 0.15 this.addChild(ant)Why is this? What are the coded coordinates relative to, if not the stage?Presumably the anchor point is the same whether it's placed manually or with code? Could it have anything to do with the fact that the movie clip is scaled?Thanks for any help.

I've tried, Window 10 on a desktop. The help on Adobe for 183 does not show the same or at all. I am now clueless. I use it for fun with digital art. I am 78 yrs old and by no means a computer whiz. I sure need a simple fix, please.GrannieEv

hi, I've read of a few problems with the current version of Aniamte on machines running Sequoia.I see Animate is not in the list of compatilbe apps yet. Is there an inking of when the update might be released? 

When I try to import an Mp3 file in animate, it gives me a message it couldn't import, but it works when I try to import other mp3 files.

I'm trying to make my way through the Animate hands-on fireplace tutorial but it's not letting me progress beyond the first step (clicking the next button does nothing). I've tried restarting the tutorial and rebooting the application. Is there perhaps a way to force the tutorial to continue onto the next step? Thanks in advance.

I'm running Adobe Animate 2024 on a Macbook Pro with Ventura OS (13.6.9) and the app keeps crashing. I'm talking dozens of time in a span of a couple hours. I've scoured this community and have tried every suggested solution just short of installing on a clean laptop (but that's the most unreasonable solution and I can't just go grab a new Macbook). Is there ANYTHING left to try? I'm doing the most basic/minimal project and Animate is just crashing constantly. Initially I thought it was related to swatches/strokes, but now I can't even see a pattern. I have assignments due for a class and the most basic tasks are taking me hours because of this issue. I have an animation of a dog walker and I want to have a dynamic curved line as the leash. So no matter how far the dog moves from the walker, the curved leash is being drawn and updated between them.    In AS3, I did it like this:   leash.graphics.clear(); //define curveleashcurve = 214 + Math.abs(200 - Math.abs(dog.x - walker.x));leash.graphics.lineStyle(3, 0xAF2525); //set start pointleash.graphics.moveTo(leashhandx,leashhandy); //draw curveleash.graphics.curveTo(leashhandx,leashcurve,leashdogx,leashdogy)   Can I do something similar in javascript? I'm having trouble figuring out the syntax.

So, I was using the classic tween to animate I decided to tween the legs for a normal walk cycle, but when I played the animation, it seemed to be that the leg just started moving upward, and then snap to the position I put the leg in. Though I figure out this one, I used to have this problem with the body and when I tweened it along with the arns, the character just breaks apart and once again snaps to the position I put it in. The problem I currently have is for the legs. Even though I only have a problem with the legs, can you please tell how to fix both?Thanks!

For the last few days ive had this weird drawing glitch where its transparent and has this weird grid type line through the drawing, i havent had the transparency turned down or anything and its confusing, can anybody help me out? 

On the surface, everything looked fine when animating and previewing, but once I exported, one of my characters turned pixelated and poor quality. It'd make sense if it was the whole animation, but no, it's just that character. I have two characters in the animation, and only one of the seems to be affected with this bug. Here's a before and after: I have no idea what's going on. I tried many ways of exporting (Including doing a PNG Sequence). Is there a way to fix this, or am I screwed? 

I'm currently writing a program to programatically export a series of .FLA files into .MOV files, however, I've noticed that the ability to change the size the stage is rendered at is absent from the Document Object Model's "exportVideo()" method. Is there a simple workaround for this, or is it not possible?

Hiya, I have never exerienced this before, but in my class with 24 students, at least 5 of them have experienced where the stage and all menus disappear upon making a new document. I have tried changing workspaces and deleting the program and installing an earlier version. Nothing works. Would really appreciate some help! 

Hey, I'm trying to export an artwork I made in Flash CS6 but I used layer effects as well (glow, gradient etc) by using movie clip option instead of graphic. Reason was because most of the effects in movie clip aren't available in graphic, which is a shame. Anyways, when I export as a PNG, the layer effects are missing on the final image. I tried converting the movie clip into graphics and that didn't work either so.I know this is a very old version that is unsupported, but I would like some assistance if possible please. Thank you.

Hi everyone, I would like, in reaction to certains events, to select a tool and change its properties. Events are working fine. Selecting a tool is done this way (example with the Brusgh tool):fl.selectTool('brush'); We are are supposed to be able to get the current this way following the documentation, but it does not work.var theTool = fl.tools.activeTool;I can't catch any error with a try/catch, but any line of code after this one will not execute.Even if it would work, it would be a read only access to the tool, as stated in the documentation.  So, how to change a tool property (the Brush tool size for example) using the JavaScript API?Would the solution be to create a custom tool based on an existing one, and set this custom tool properties during it's creation?In a context where a property needs to be changed, would it mean creating a new custom tool each time this property changes? Or am I thinking the wrong and is there a better solution?&nbsp

Have you ever noticed that the border colors for "groups," "components," and "drawing objects" are different? As someone with color vision deficiency, I often confuse them, leading to frequent mistakes at work. Is there a way to change these border colors? I'd like to set distinct, more visible colors for each of them to avoid confusion. 

dear community!I’m on the lookout for a drawing tool for a live performance. I’d love to be able to draw a simple sketch with my graphics tablet, reacting to a live performance.I want the drawn line to fade. Suppose I were to draw a spiral, then this spiral would dissolve again starting from the centre when I reach the outer circles...   I’d like to be able to regulate after which time my drawn line starts to disappear, already after 1 second or only after 10 minutes… 🙂 So I guess, what I am looking for is a kind of reverse function for the drawing process.Does anyone have any ideas?I’d be over the moon if you did!Cheers!

Trying to do a pingpong loop in animate but the reverse loop option is greyed out. Any fixes?

when I use the "resource deformation" tool (I hope I wrote it correctly, there is a pin on the icon) on an object, it becomes raster and loses quality. If I enlarge it before that, the program starts to lag a lot after using the tool. Does anyone know what to do with this?

Hi, I wonder what would be the best way for me to create an interactive infographic that consists of multple layers. Besides the overall generic overview layer there must be more detailed layers that appears when clicking on buttons in the overall overview. These details are like pop ups. I am familiar with Illustrator. I am able to make a prototype in XD. I am not sure in what tool I should 'invest' and spent learning time into. Is it Animate?  

Recently I have an issue with Animate on macOS. When I open it I get the message: Sorry, Animate has encountered an error and needs to close.You will not be able to use Animate at this time. Please contact Customer Support and use the reference code 205 for more information on how to resolve this issue. I tried deleting and reinstalling Animate, logging out of creative cloud, and restarting my computer but I still see the error 205 message. I also tried installing older versions of Animate but I still have this problem.

I've been using Animate 2019, and I just can't seem to figure out what's causing this issue, it was working fine until I saved a file few weeks ago.Then when I opened that said file, the program crashes, and when I try to create a new file, it crashes too, with no errors popping up whatsoever, it just loads for a few seconds and then closes instantly.I've already tried the solutions provided to fix this, but nothing seems to work at all, resetting preferences, deleting Creative Cloud and reinstalling it, none of them work.

Hello, i've noticed a persistent problem with groups on loading an animate file. I close and open projects often and over time i've noticed grouped objects not staying in place. You can see in the first image this is how it was saved; but in the second shows how it has been loaded. All the objects have moved in different ways. I have to manually fix this every time.Over time, my content shifts and if I dont touch groups on other layers and this can be what I come back to:I can't describe the frustration when I need to make a round of changes and it takes quadruple the time as I have to reposition everything. I've updated everything, reinstalled and these problems persist. This is a huge problem with Animate.
