Question

Multiple pages, some need to open in existing window and some need their own windows

I hope someone sees this quickly as I am running out of time. I am wrapping up a class that uses the Adobe Animate 2022 Classroom in a Book publication by Russel Chun. I sent an email to my instructor at the beginnin of the week and they have still not replied (and I probably shoud have posed here after a day of waiting for a reply). I am working on my final project which is to have an HTML canvas, with the first page being sort of an intro page. On that page are:

- some text (simple enough)

- three buttons: 1) a bio page, 2) a contact me page and 3) a page that lists the projects that were created during the course (I've created the buttons but not coded the actions)

For the projects page, each project is to be listed with a clickable button. When the button is clicked, it is to open a new window that shows the project.

My questions...

1) for parts 1 - 3 (bio and contact pages), how do I replace the contents of the current page with another page? Are multiple canvasses going to be involved?

2) on these pages, I need to have a button that takes the user back to the main page... how would I code that action

3) for the projects page, how do I launch a new page to display a project (if I click on one project, which opens a new page, and go back to the projects page and click on another project, it should also open in its own page)

Of the 10 projects we did, only the last one dealt with displaying the Animate project in a web page using an HTML canvas (which was already defined for us). I am guessing that I would need to somehow wrapper the prior projects in an HTML canvas too.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Al

    1) one way is to naviage (gotoAndStop) to another main timelne frame.

    2) if you use 1), use this.gotoAndStop("intropage");

    3) what is the project?  ie, is it a html page?  is it something you can add to a frame in animate?  is it something else?

    I think it is supposed to be within the Animate framework.

    How do I get a new page to be opened?

    Thank you,
