Hello, I'm new to Audition, and have been using Cool Edit Pro for 20 years, which was sufficient for my purposes as a voiceover artist. But with the last Windows Update it didn't work anymore, so I'm thinking about switching to Audition.I tested it with a friend, and everything is great except the editing. When I'm listening in after recording and want to cut out breathing sounds at the same time, the system hangs a bit. Also, I often have to click several times to get the mouse pointer where I want it to go. Maybe this has something to do with the "second mouse pointer", the dotted line (excuse my ignorance what that is called). Question: can I turn that one off, and thus switch to the simple and stress-free mouse pointer like in Cool Edit?Thank you very much for any help
Apologies for the dramatic title, but I'm about at wits end. I've been having trouble with my recorded voice-overs where my voice just sounds kind of murky, without much range, and Audition cuts off the beginning or end of some consonants (such as the 't' in 'touch' or the 'k' in 'work'.) I also found that after a few seconds of silence, when I started speaking again, there was a decent chance that the first letter of the first would would sound muted or murky. I thought the issue was my microphone - I went from USB to XLR dynamic and now have XLR condensor AT2035 Audiotechnica. I thought the issue was my articulation or my distance to the mic or my gain levels. I practiced and made adjustments. I researched online and couldn't find much. I recently saw on another thread a user talked about the "Audio Enhancements" setting on their computer (both on Mac and Windows) and how disabling Audio Enhance helped them figure something out. I turned off this setting and...BOOM! My voice had more
So, I recently got myself a simple RODE setup, i got an NT1 mic and a AI-1 interface which i have plugged into each other and into my computer. I've gone into my Audio Hardware setting in Preferences and selected Line one as my input (the only option to come up). When I proceed to record, either in waveform or multitrack, the program lags for a second or two, then nothing happens. The buttons on the bottom imply that Audition is recording, however that play bar doesn;t move and nothing happens. I don't have it set to only record when theres theres sound, and the interface is working completely fine. I can;t identify the issue, let alone figure out how to fix this. Any and all help would be amazing, I can't afford to let this go on too long. Thanks in advance
Hi all...I've been producing audiobooks since 2018 using Adobe Audition CC 2015 with Ozone Plugins.I've been tweaking EQ and mastering settings as I go along, I've reached a stage now where I'm feeling reasonably happy with everything and seem to be getting consistent results. That said, the one thing I could do with is a "second opinion" from some of the more seasoned folks on here.Feel free to check out this sample: https://soundcloud.com/user-357226645/davidsweeneybear-theebonyframe-ghost-rp-straight-read/s-yusVEI'd welcome any pointers or opinions on how I might do things better. Many thanks! I thought I was following everything as I should have (including level scan)but when I remove the silences, most of the audio that follows (to the right of) a removed section is clipped. Therefore I need to pull out the clipped audio from the left. Sometimes this can be a considerable chunk. Why would that be? What have I done wrong? Thanks
So, I understand that the negative db value shown in Audition is based on a reference point and that 0 is the loudest volume before distortion will occur, and basically, anything below -27 is inaudible (-96 is silence). How does one know the actual db level of an audio file? Obviously, it depends on the volume level of the output, but assuming your speaker level is 100% is it possible to infer a positive db? I'm guessing not because it would vary from speaker to speaker.
I've noticed a change in the playhead behavior after a recent upgrade in Adobe Audition. Previously, when I double-clicked on a marker in the markers panel while playing, the playhead would jump to the marker and start playing from that marker position. However, the current behavior is different: the playhead jumps (in a faded ghost style), but the actual playing playhead remains at the old position, continuously playing from there. I've searched through the preferences but couldn't find any settings related to this change. Is there a way to restore the old playhead behavior? My current workflow relies heavilly on the old behavior, any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, So, I had an unexpected mic issue when filming – and combined with the large, empty room we were in, I ended up with terrible audio. It sounds like we're filming in a large, empty cave. I've been playing around in Audition for hours but have not managed to make it sound any better. Anyone have any advice or ideas? Open to all suggestions. I've attached a clip so you can hear what I mean.
Since Audition 3.0 is end of life I can no longer get an auithorization code from technical support. My computer died where it was loaded from a CD and now I want to load it to a new computer but need an authorization code. Am I out of luck?
I'm trying to make a simple edit to the attached mp3 file by trimming the silence at the beginning, but the file isn't saving. I'm hitting save and the asterisk disappears as if it were saved, but if I close the file and open it again, the space is there again. I've tried "save as" but that doesn't work either.
Hey everyone,I've been paying for an Adobe subscription but have been doing all my VO in Audacity -- figured I'd try Audition since I have it. Unfortunately, Audition isn't allowing me to record anything. Every other application that I use works perfectly fine with my setup but Audition -- not so much. Hello everyone,I am recording audio in Audition and would like to use Voicemod - Voice Changer to record some voices of a song (using vocoder and auto tune). How can I connect this program to the Audition audio input? Is it possible? Please help me. Thank you.
Hi, I see lots and lots of "how to improve your voice" tutorials and stuff like that on YT. No one talks about real life usecases where i need to edit the Video and modify sound at the same time. I thought the whole purpose of audtion is that its dyamic linked like i can do with PP <-> AE. Dealing with Sound in PP is kinda aweful when it gets complex. So i would like to do most stuff in Audition. Exporting kinda works but how to do some changes in PP then which gets reflected in Audition later on again ? My Preview of the video in Audtion is showing me an old version of the Video. How can i refresh it reflecting latest version ? regards,
I want to control the playback speedAlthough I saw that it was already asked before, but for me [version 3.0] I could not activate this feature.I saw that it was mentioned that it is possible by JKL, but it is not clear to me how these keys are used? with control? If so then it doesn't work for me for some reason.I'll emphasize, I'm only interested in controlling the rate of a preview, like on YouTube, and not changing the rate of a file.I would love to get help.
I'm considering buying Audition; can EQ enhancements be made to an external/pre-existing MP3 file? TIA
I was looking for a way to convert a female voice to a male voice. Most tutorials or voice changers I've found just lower the pitch, but that does not at all help. Is there a way to edit the way things are pronounced (not entirely sure the technical terms, but the way they speak) to make the voice more masculine? This is literally the only feature I wanted out of this app but unfortunately it seems it isn't possible, but if anyone can help (or reccomend an app that does) please do.
This is a recording live from 1971 and I want to clean it up but do not know how to even the track so from the middle to the top and from the middle to the bottom are equal any ideas?
I am creating my Podcast on Audition. My mics are connected to my Behringer XR 12 mixer. If I connect my USB ouptput to my computer, will Audition see it in the Audio Hardware input in the Podcast template? Thank you.
I am new to using Audition and am editing a podcast with two audio files that I imported. I tried to export the final file but it had no audio, and then when I went back to the program, all of my cuts and editing are visible, but the files itself are blank. I'm so scared to have lost all the work and am trying to figure out how to re-link the original audio files since the edits are visibly still there. It also says the audio is offline, and audition is no longer showing the multiple tracks I'd had. It's only showing one track. Image attached for reference. I also am having a hard time with figuring out the proper procress for exporting if anyone has advice on that.
Hi,I have the Adobe Audition 2.0 and just re-installed on my new computer (PC). But I am not able to activate it as the phone activation has also been discontinued. Please help! Thanks,Rupa
I am working thrugh the Audition CC lesson book, and I have downloaded audio files that go with the lessons. In the hardware setup directions the book says to connect my audio source, in this case an Ipad, into my audio input jack on my computer, and my speaker source into my output jack. But my Windows laptop only has one 3.5 mm jack for a headset with a mic attached. So how would I set up my audio output? In the Audition hardware setup page it shows the input hardware as two channel, and for the output page there is no 24 bit option - just 16 bit. I do have the 44100 Hz option ofr both. Thank you.
Hi, I have a question, I had to reinstall audition, but I don't know how to put it back on a function that I had before, when I moved a clip to align it, a dotted blue vertical ruler appeared along all the tracks and it disappear when I release mouse button, this helped me a lot to align without snap, but I can't find how to activate it again.
does anyone know how to get back to continuous play while highlighting and deleting in a audiofile without it skipping to the highlighted section?
I cant export my audio file and there is a message further - An error was encountered . "Unable to write data to the temporary file system." What am I going to do?
Hi,I have a problem getting the Text to Speech functionality to work. I have added new languages to Windows 11 and chose James (Australia) as Default Voice in Settings/Time & Language /Speech. I have also tried to add ones via Windows Narrator. Even though they seem to work in Windows, eg in the Narrotir, they will not show up in Effects / Generate / Speech and only the basic US/UK voices are available. What is going wrong, and how to fix it? Thanks in advance for the help, magnus
