Hoping someone can help. I'm working in Captivate 2017. I have multiple image buttons throughout the project with various different states assigned to them. However, nowhere in the project (not even on the slides where said buttons with multiple states exist) are 'Change the State of', 'Go to Next State', or 'Go to Previous State' selectable. They are simply greyed out.Would appreciate any solutions or ideas.Thanks!

When I preview a project in SCORM cloud, HTML5, or project view it does not show the entire screen of the project.  It seems to just show the center portion.  When I publish it to SCORM and upload it into my LMS it shows the same way.  My LMS supports SCORM 2004 V4 and that is what I am publishing it as (I have tried SCORM 1.2 as well as 2004 V2, V3 also).  Is it a project size issue?  Currently the project is 1280X720.  The project is created in an Unresponsive format and has nothing but text and static images.  Using Captivate 2019.  I have searched for the last hour or so for another similar thread but can't find anything.  By the way, I am new to Captivate so I am still trying to figure things out.  Thanks for any help!

We created five workshops that use the exact same Advanced Actions and JavaScript. All but one workshop seems to work fine. However, some Apple mobile users (iPhone and iPad) are reporting that they get well into our Resume and Applications Workshop and then it closes and reopens to the first page. Please see the attached video (https://youtu.be/yjoZB2ShB7k ) for an example of this behavior.  Their progress is lost. When they get to about the same page it happens again. They are not able to reach the end of the course. These workshops are built using Captivate 2019 and published as HTML5 non-responsive projects. Not all users on iPhone or iPad experience this issue. For those who do, clearing their Safari cache does not help. The issue is consistent on the same phone, meaning if a person sees the issue once, they see it every time. Other users with the same phone model, iOS version, and Safari version may not see the problem, though it seems to be fai

Hi, I want my users to click on a start button before doing something. after they completed the task/, they will click on the stop button to stop the counter. I want my user to be able to see the elapsed time on that slide.By the way, I want this for only one slide and it is not a question slide. Of course, when user come and visit the slide again. I want to add a timer to my skin on a project. Can I do a video to my husband

There has been many discussions regarding this and I understand that Captivate is designed for Interactive training. I  need to build a project with a combination of simulation and vdeo demo capturing as I need to be able to edit mouse cursors in the simulation slides. The quality of my published file especially on the slides where I have used video capture for pan and zoom affect is very poor. As per Lilybiri's advice I trialed Camtasia for Video capturing but you cannot change the cursor post production and I cannot find other Video capturing/editing software that will enable this.I have my Captivate 9 video capturing set to 32bit and all my simulation screens set to Optimised but the output to MP4 is still poor with lines showing in all the backround images.I need to host my files on YouTube so don't have the option of outputting to html5.Can anyone please assist me with some advice how to get a better quality MP4 for my Project?Thanks so much

Hi, I work in Mexico, as a designer for captivate courses, I'm not really a programmer just designer, currently we are looking for a super captivate expert, because or captivate development now is turning more complicated, our currently developers have experience on the field but not enough to consider them selves super experts, so we want to look for this person, where it will be a good idea start looking for? forums, facebook pages, do you know places where I can find captivate experts? Hi all. I have an hour long course which works fine in every browser but Internet Explorer. It's fine for the first 40 minutes of the course, but once it starts approaching 50 minutes it begins behaving erratically, failing to load slide background images and ultimately crashing. Working with a fellow Captivate developer we believe it to be a memory leak issue. This crash is not happening at a specific slide or event. Examining memory in Resource Monitor the IE tab running the course builds Commit and Working Set continually, only occasionally releasing a little bit of memory. Once it hits 1,500,000 KB the tab crashes and automatically reloads, starting the course from the beginning. This has been consistently observed with testing. It is not a slide, event, or amount of time – it crashes when Working Set hits 1,500,000 KB. For this product we create a version for web-based deployment and a version for LMS use. Hello!I am trying to execute advaced actions with buttons in the 2019 Captivate and for some reason when I try to excute it the option "Change State Of" is greyed out and I cannot use it. Could anybody help me with this issue?  Thank you! 

New download and install for Captivate 2019 Restrict me from the Java.exe file. I downloaded and installed again and the same thing happened. Here is the notice I get on my computer:I went to my Properties box and checked full control. If  I double click I get the same message.

Hello,I wanted to open a discussion about an issue I was asked to step in and deal with regarding how text entries work in Captivate. From everything we could find, a text entry box, no matter how it is made, generates the same boiler plate javascript when the project is used for an HTLM5 based course.The issue with this javascript, is that both on user input and fill of the box, it converts the values to Number() primitives whenever able. Removing this code so that Captivate boxes set the javascript variables as strings is the only way I could find to publish a course that is meant to accept values like zip, phone number, social security numbers etc, which can begin with leading zeros.If Captivates bowler plate javascript is allowed to run it will convert zip codes like 04005 to 4005. I am seeing no adverse effects from removing the code and allowing all text input entries to be treated as strings.Is Captivate aware of this issue? Is there a setting option in Captivate we are missing

Hello, Im relitivly new here and am hoping that this is an obvious question, but I couldnt find an answer. Ive built a quiz and changed the layout and coloring from the typically flat grey, however what I see when building is different than what is in the preview or published.For instance, one of the quiz questions is a matching quiz that looks like this:However what publishes is this: The text colors in the drop down are different, but I can make that work by inverting all the colors on the slide.What I cant fix is that the connector lines have moved left, are now grey, the words are smaller on the yellow boxes and the words moved up in the black boxes. I played around with Shift+F7 options but it only changed some of the boxes and not others and diddnt fix the issue. Is there a way to make it so that what I see when I am building is actually what publishes?

I have built a Captivate project in V2019. When I playback the project 5 slides at a time - audio is sometimes getting chopped off between slides. Once published it seems to be fine. Would appreciate any advice how to fix this.

I have installed the Captivate trial on one of our employees laptops. When we try to start the program it seems to load fine and comes up with choose project screen but instantly clears and comes up with screen saying please wait for a moment with spinning circle. Have left this running for a while and tried multiple times but can't get passed this point and start using captivate. It's added to firewall and can log in fine to creative cloud app. Any idea's? Thanks for any help in advance.

One of my slides has four points of text that appear only after the learner clicks four separate buttons. I have advanced actions on each button to show the text and modify one of four separate variables to be 'done' (which tells the Next button to enable and allows the learner to advance).Currently, if you revisit that slide, the buttons do not appear at all so you're not able to click and see the corresponding text again. I would like, on slide revisit, that the buttons appear immediately and text appears without clicking.I'm an advanced user of a competitor's authoring tool so I'm trying to "unlearn" how advanced interactions were done in 'L' and how to do it in Captivate. How I would natually program it doesn't work. so I'm wondering what I'm missing. Thanks!

Working with JavaScript, I am trying to capture and evaluate learner entry of a date into a simulation of software tool. The date must be entered in the mmddyy format. Using the Event Listener CPAPI_VARIABLEVALUECHANGED is working great EXCEPT that it does not reconize a 0 when entered first. Has anyone overcome this problem?

A installed adobe captivate 2019 and whenever i tried to load the application,the feedback i got is A program caused the program to stop working correctly.........Please i need help or suggestions on how to resolve this issue.Thank you

I have been publishing a course module in HTML5.  When some of our users complete the quiz in the module, the module automatically records as Passed.  Other times, there is a delay of a few hours before the module registers as Passed (this is with the IE browser). I'm not sure if this is a LMS issue or something with the way I published the module.  If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate hearing them. 

I'm using 'micro navigation' in my project. Each slide is a motion graphics video with narration. The client has asked that if a slide has already been seen by the user and they wish to return to that slide for review, that they don't have to watch the entire video again - they just get a static version of the slide.I'm achieving this by setting up a 'SlidexxSeen' variable with a default of 0, then OnEnter for that slide sets the variable to 1. If they try to go back to the slide, the '1' variable causes them to redirect to a frame - the last frame of that slide.My problem is, if the client wants me to make a change to a slide that actually changes the length of the slide, every frame number for the last frame from that slide forward is changed. This requires me to have to change the 'cpCmndGotoFrame' for every slide after the changed slide to update the new frame number.It's only happened once, but I'm predicting that more such changes may occur. I'm hoping that there is a better way
