I am trying to create a hotspot on a video that will pause the video on mouseover and show some content overlaying that video. On mouseout it will hide that overlay and continue playing the video. Is this possible and if so how?

Hi, I have a cpvc video and want to synchronize the video with text boxes. I thought I can prolong a video frame by capturing a still image from the video and insert this still image into the timeline.I didn't find the function for capturing still images.Is this possible or do I have to use another function?

Hello !In a quiz slide, a voice explain the purpose of an exercice. It begins in the first image of the slide. The audio is an audio slide, not a event one.There is closed caption for this voice, in the audio, creating with the closed caption editor of the audio sound in Captivate.But the closed caption refuse to appear in quiz slide in html 5 view. If I click on the button CC, it appears less than 1 second, then desappears again.(At the end, the project will be a SCORM module, and I already turn it into a SCORM in the project information)The CC work everywhere else in the rest module for audio, as for video, excepting in quiz slides.Is there something I did'nt do/check ?Thanks by advance. 

Hello Forum!I have a short Captivate file I have recently edited.  I'm now ready to publish it, but I keep getting a "Publish Failed" error message.  It comes up immediately upon trying to publish.I have done a number of things suggested in this forum that do not seem to be helping:I'm using a local copy of the Captivate File.I have tried turning off compression settings.I have closed and restarted Captivate.I have cleared the cache.I have copied the slides into a new, blank Captivate file (and even that one won't publish)I was hoping to get these files out to users next week.  Does anyone have any further suggestions?  I'd be happy to send you the file for review.Many thanks!Jennifer.Wadsworth@iowacourts.gov

Has this issue been addressed in the latest release of Captivate 9? Based upon my testing, it appears that it is still not a possibility - to retake a quiz after reviewing the answers. Are there any workarounds?Thanks!

Hello - I have a problem using a simple drag and drop interaction in Captivate 2017 (even tested in 2019): on Windows 10 touch devices it is not possible to drag the elements. If you touch and hold one of the drag-elements you can move it a few pixels and then it returns to the original position. Tested in Edge, IE11 and Chrome.On other touch devices e.g. Android phones or iPhone it's working well. Does anyone has managed to use drag and drop interactions on Windows 10 tablets? Thanks,Marco

In Storyline it is quite easy to animate a text box so that the text comes in one bullet or line at a time -- as opposed to the entire paragraph at once. How do you do this in Captivate? I don't see any menu setting for it. Thanks in advance!

Hello, I have ensured accessibility is enabled when publishing, and I know it is 'working' as any text sitting outside of a fluid box is readable, however, text contained in shape or text box within a fluid box is not read by the screen reader. Is this working as expected? Did I miss a step? Or do I need to add descriptive text to each fluid box (i.e. copy paste the text?)It also seems as though tabbing though objects within a fluid box is also not functioning? Am I missing something here as well?ANY/ALL help would be much appreciated,Thank you!!

Recently I am unable to publish a project with a quiz and using the reporting option in Captivate 2019.  Went back to project published in late 2019 and that will also not publish anymore.  It stops responding and locks up computer.  Only way to close Captivate is to restart computer.  Coworker is having the same issues with his Captivate 2019.  Any ideas?  

So, I'm having trouble trying to find a better workflow for creating toggle buttons for a "select all that apply" type of quiz question. Does anyone know if there's a way to incorporate shared actions rather then creating one-by-one advanced actions for each toggle variable. (e.g. I create a toggle for each answer option, adding up to 4 variables for each question, then repeating this process for each question)  I was able to get the shared action to work for the first question in the eLearning, but when I went to the follwing question, I had to click on the answer buttons twice for it to register. Hope this makes sense, as I am very confused on what I am doing incorrect. I can supply screenshots if necessary. Thank you in advance. 

I feel like there's a simple answer to this and I can't find it. I am using a smart shape as a button, in the properties I have it checked as a button, and am using Advanced Actions. One button gives me the option to check "infinite attempts", but another button I built the same way (I think), does not give me the option, and I can only select it one time.What am I missing?Thank you,Carol

Hello,I am not sure what is happening, but I just installed Captivate and when I try to create a New Project (Blank, Software Simulation or anyother project), it shows that it is "creating slides on objects " but the software simply quits without any error message. I need to mention that I have it installed on two devices and on both of them it doesn't work.I really need help in solving this. Thank you,Alina

Hallo, I would like to Embedd a link (MS Forms for Feedback) in my WBT. I use the the Adobe Captivate 2019 Release (11.0.0.243), the fuction Object > Web. The link is recognised but it can not scroll or wird in it.Is there a possibility to embedd the html page or to open the link automazically? Thanks!

My course has finally almost passed through our 3rd party 508 check.  My last issue is that the screen reader will read the button, ie, "Closed Caption On", however when the state changes to "CC Off" the screen reader says "Button", and needs to say "CC Off".  How do I get the screen reader to read the off states of the buttons? I am thinking it is within the code, but I am not a coder so I don't even know where to find it in the html, or even using an inspector.Thank you

I have several of these text animations, so I'm getting this message in HTML5 Tracker. I'm currently trying to get rid of swf-only features. What's not clear from this message is: Does it mean that it's supported in HTML5 or not?

Hi.O have this module I need the student to see the same video 3 times in diferent moments.In the Captivate library there is only one vídeo, but when In publish, the video folder is full of copies.When I delete these copies the videos doesnt work on the HTML5 test. I get a blank screen.Is there a way to Captivate dont duplicate the video?Thanks a Lot.Baldoino

Hi allI am using captivate to create e learnings to upload onto an LMS.The thing is I need to remove the white bar at the bottom of the screen so they do not have the possibility to move from one slide to the next before they are supposed to.Please let me know if there is any way to remove this.Thanks!

I was with support for 2 hours today trying to figure out why my Macbook pro couldn't use Software Simulation.  Support told me it was an Apple issue with resolution and I needed to upgrade my video card.  This is a brand new computer.  I've had it for 1.5 months.  It's a beast.I got it to work slightly when selecting a program to record rather than an area.  It seems that this has been an issue for a lot of Windows users that was cured with Administrator rights but I don't have that issue with a Mac.  I have 5 curriculums that need to go out in 2 weeks and I just don't want to drop bad .mp4 files in them when I can do the Software Simulations.  Ugh. Yes I'm running Catalina.  It wasn't my choice.

I seem to remember making my own responses to multiple choice questions.  I can't remember if the responses were to the answers or the question.  However I don't see how to do this in CP2019.  We have already selected the Use Text Captions for SFH Captions instead of Smart-Shapes.Our customer insists on the responses looking just like the projects built in the previous versions of Captivate.TIASusan

Just installed Captivate so I can convert pptx to HTML5. When I try and import a pptx or a ppt file, Captivate runs through the import procedure converting all of the slides, but then doesn't show any of the slide thumbnails in the project properties box that is displayed, and it ill not let me click either the cancel button or the Okay button. It says selected slides: 18/18. To get rid of the import dialog box I need to hit the escape key. If I click on any of the option in that dialog box nothing will happen. If I hit the enter key it makes an error sound. I do alo get a pop up message that says "to use the "java" commend-line tool you need to install a JDK." I followed though on that dialog box and updated FLASH. I also uninstalled JAVA and reinstalled it to the latest version, and I restarted the computer. Nothing works. Help? How do I get Captivate to work with the installed version of JAVA? If that is the problem? iMac running 10.14.6Captivate 11.5.4.613JAVA 8 upda

Captivate has lots of bug apparently. I am trying to change the object state with Javascript. my code is like this:if(var_Progress_Percent>0 && var_Progress_Percent <21) { cp.changeState("progress_image_745","p5"); } else if(var_Progress_Percent>21 && var_Progress_Percent <41) { cp.changeState("progress_image_745","p10"); } but when I paste this to captivate Javascript Panel, it displayed like this: if(var_Progress_Percent>0 && var_Progress_Percent <21) { cp.changeState("progress_image_745","p5"); } else if(var_Progress_Percent>21 && var_Progress_Percent <41) { cp.changeState("progress_image_745","p10"); }   So nothing works. What is the workaround for this issue?  

Anyone know how to access the adobe knowhow courses we have paid for after they close the site? They said they where going to send an email on how to do this, but I have yet to receive one. I have sent two emails to their support to try to find out how to do this.Hope I am not going to lose the courses I have paid for.

Hi, I have am object on the slide which has 2 states(Normal, deneme) I put execute javascript to the onenter event of the slide :cp.changeState(“myobject”,”deneme”); but it is not working. I have tried different combinations:cp.changeState(myobject,”deneme”);cp.changeState(“myobject”,deneme); Isn't there any function like changeState ?  Thank you.
