I have an interactive video with 4 overlay slides that contain drag and drop interactions. Everything works great when I preview the project. When I publish the project and view it the overlay slides do not show. The video just keeps playing.
Hi everyone, I recently tried to export an 18 slide Captivate project. Exporting as HTML5, and I don't get any errors, but when opening the index.html file I am just met with a blank white screen in my broser (see attached GIF). Does anyone know why this might be the case? I've exported this file before with no problems. It is not set to responsive. https://giphy.com/gifs/THIzwTa7ulKu7eb0vj EDIT: I have fixed this issue after some extensive testing, eliminating individual slides and finally creating a new project and re-adding elements. Under Project > Skin Editor I had disabled 'Show playback controls', which is what had caused this issue. I have now turned them back on, but turned all of the individual controls off, so it is still invisible. No idea why this was causing the issue!
One of my client has lost the source file (cptx) but he still have HTML5 folder. I wanted to extract all the resources (images + voice over) but I have noticed that all the images in HTML5 are in json , Now I'm looking for a way to turn them to PNG, I'm asking for help to do this convertion.
Hi,I have been working out how to use Image Buttons in Captivate 6 and have created loads which now appear in the Properties Panel. How do I remove unused image buttons from the Properties Panel? Thanks

Hi, I´m tossing around (again) embedding interactive videoes. When I insert videoes from Vimeo they look terribile the first 4-5 seconds when they calculate the bandwidth. Can I fix this (together with the black top and bottom bars)? And am I right when I say it is no longer possible to remove 'related videos' at the end of a played video? And Vimeo seems to has ruled out some limitations of their js-player if you a not a PRO-subscriber? Is that correct?/Jacob
Hi again,(Just posted this morning.)Client wants to use the font Helvetica, but I don't have it in my list of fonts in Captivate 2019.I looked at fonts.adobe.com and it's not there either.Where can I get the font Helvetica and get it installed into Captivate? Thanks,BernadetteSide notes - Projects will be non-responsive and published as scalable.Part of the reason for wanting to use a different font is that I've tried all the other web safe fonts listed in Captivate and they all appear a bit blurry when published.
Hi to all.... I have tried to open a window in captivate that a user can open and read the included information...See script" Window.open(", ","width=350,height=400,left=25,top=25").document.write("<p>Hello Vinnie.</p>"); I have assigned to a ??button?? and on the actions "execute Javascript" containing the above code I am using captivate 2019 and a responsive project' I only want at this stage to get the small window open...WITHOUT SUCCESS. Apple released MAC OS Catalina a few days ago. Adobe now has a support page advising MAC users that there are issues with MAC OS Catalina for any of their 32 bit apps, as well as some of their 64 bit apps. Captivate 32 bit versions happen to be among the apps that will not work with Catalina. Some Captivate 64 bit versions may also be affected. Check the details here: https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/fix-macos-64-bit-compatibility-errors.html Bottom line is that if you are a MAC user and you NEED Captivate for your daily work, DO NOT dive in an install Catalina until Adobe has confirmed that it will work. Watch the Captivate Community Forum. It's usual practice for many MAC users to install any update released in the mistaken assumption that everything will work as before. This means there are usually plenty of OTHER MAC users that will be posting about this issue and you can watch to see whether or not it is safe to u
Hi All, I'm still working with Captivate 2017 and yesterday everything was working fine. Today Captivate crashes when making advanced actions. Already did the following :- Cleaned up unused actions (but it crashes again when leaving the advanced actions, and the actions i deleted come back)- Cleaned up my library- Cache cleanup- Try reinstalling 2017 captivate, but it's not working anymore (error that I need a newer version. Error 1)- Try to update the software, but my update panel stays blank. After a few relaunches it appeared but I couldn't install Captivate 2019. Again error 1- Made a new project, but also here when making advanced actions, it crashes I'm running out of options 😞
Hi there!I am using Captivate 9, and created a project using the Software Simulation mode. The audio sounded very quiet and it was hard to hear my narration, so I applied the normalization effect to all the slides, as I was thought in my Las Vegas Captivate Certification just a year ago. Now, when I play the project, there are multiple different volumes of sound, making it look very unprofessional. I did try to fix this by applying the dynamics effect; but it did not work. What else could I do?
Hi everyone-I have a strange issue with a software simulation. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of information about how the slides were created because they were created by someone that is out of office. I'm hoping someone can help at least figure out what this person is doing to cause it, so that we can avoid it in the future. Here is one of the slides in question as you see it in Captivate: When I click Edit on the background image, and then from the Resize/Crop Image dialog box, just click OK, this "corrupted" image appears: This issue is that when the slide transitions to the next slide, this "corrupted" image flashes quickly. It is happening on quite a few of his slides, but not all. Does anyone know why this is happening? Is there a way to fix it without having to redo the slides? Thanks,Crystal
I'm running into some issues with mobile content and getting some interesting feedback from our LMS vendor (SumTotal). Their mobile app uses the same browser engine as mobile Safari. On some slides, some or all of the objects on the slide don't render. The content is pretty straightforward (i.e., shapes, images, audio) and no complex advanced actions or JS. Their analysis is telling them all the canvas elements from my master slides along with the slide objects are creating memory spikes. As with my slide content, the master slides are primarily shapes and text. What's even more confusing is I build several courses from the same Captivate Template and many work seamlessly in their app, even with much more memory-intensive objects (e.g., high-res images, interactive video, etc.). They are still gathering data on the courses I have shared with them. I will say that running the same content in mobile Safari outside the app via SCORM cloud creates some similar issues, but the debuggin
I have built a quiz in Captivate 9 with a total of five questions, and each question slide has relative page numbering "Question X of Y" in the header. When I am working in Captivate, the first quiz question displays "Question 1 of 5" in the header, as expected. However, in Publish and Preview modes, these headers are thrown off, with the first quiz question displaying "Question 2 of 6" in the header, and subsequent headers also thrown off. Any thoughts as to what is going on?
I created an interactive document in Adobe Captivate 2019 11.0.0.243 and when I publish it as a PDF I can view it, but several end-users are unable to. I have had them ensure they have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat and Flash and they are still unable to view the interactive PDF. Is there an easy fix for this that I just haven't found while Googling an answer? Is there something else that I can publish from Captivate that has the same usability and ease of access as a PDF? (the interactivity is a bunch of rollover captions on an image if that makes any difference)
Hello,I’m using Captivate 2017 and created a simple non-responsive project with drag and drop interactions, and buttons that prompt images, etc. I'm using a MAC to create the course and upload it to an LMS (Bridge). When I view them, they work fine for me.The issue that I’m having is that when I select HTML5/SWF, users are getting several errors when launching the course using Chrome (pop up blockers, unsafe scripts, https errors). The "Not secure" message is making our IT department nervous. However, when I choose HTML5, nothing comes up when the course is launched. It just keeps buffering, and nothing ever happens. The HTML5 tracker doesn’t show any unsupported slides/objects. Any idea of what I’m doing wrong?Thank you in advance for your help!Lucy
Hi,I created a responsive project, but I would like the desktop view to be full screen. Is that possible?Cheers!
Previous Post: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2652235#11251343For some reason, I do not have a reply option on this discussion. I downloaded Captivate V 2019 Update 2. As with the original installation effort, the install asks for my Adobe.com login, extracts the files, and then stops at a blank screen.
HiI have a project with a bunch of video clips.I also use a menu to show the different video clips. The problem now is that I want the video clip that are playing to stop and close when the user click on another menu button.I have solved the "pause" function using this "document.getElementsByTagName("video")[0].pause();"Is there any similar global attribute to hide the video that are playing. I could use show and hide in advanced action but that would take me months to set up.Thanks
I am creating an eLearning course. I wonder if there is a way for me to know participants' information once they access and finish the course. Thanks in advance
I've put in the text for closed captions but when I click the cc button on preview nothing happens.
Seems many of us people who trust our software providers by performing updates quickly, have been bricked by the incompatibility between MacOS 10.15 and Captivate 11.5.1.499 We are told a patch will be released sometime (maybe December). Lovely. I can't wait. Unfortunaterly, economic reality and clients constantly demanding we do work for them... necessitates we can use the software. PLEASE can anybody point me to some instructions that will allow me (and others in same position) to ROLLBACK to the previous version? Thanks very much for the assistance.
We have a module that makes use of JavaScript to resize an image with user input. The image increases and decreases depending on the button pressed. The only problem that we have is that when testing we found that mousing over the resized image causes it to return to its original size. We can't find where this mouse over behaviour is being controlled or how to stop it from happening. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this behaviour? Thanks for any help you can provide.
Hi,Can someone please help me. I am trying to set a slide duration to a quiz slide nad it keeps defaulting back to 57.5 seconds, even after it has been saved. I have looked at the timeline and it will not let me drag the duation back it just says 'inactive (56.0). I can not see any objects on the timeline that could be affecting the slide duration? I am trying to fit audio to a project so it is really important that I can make the slide move to the audio but I just can't see how.Any help gratefully received.
The presentation start with a video, if the user mouse pass over it, the video controls bar appear. Is there a way to remove it?I didn't upload it from youtube so I don't think I can use "Hide controls" .
