Hello!I have seen an extra Submit button in some Captivate 9 modules where there is no need for it. It doesn't show up until running the module in Preview. There is no text entry box on the offending or previous slide nor are they quiz slides. It seems like they randomly appear.Anyone have ideas on howto permanent resolve the problem? In the past, I put added a box that matches the background to cover up the Submit button.Thank you!

I have recently upgraded to Captivate 2019. and when I publish to HTML5 the Reflections on images (PNG) added using Properties - Shadow and Reflection are no longer visible in the output when viewed in Microsoft Edge 44

Hi everyone!I have a problem with a project.I have a slide with a widget on it (an Accordion). I also have two transparent buttons on the slide to allow the user to go to the previous and next slide using keyboard shortcuts. Problem is: the buttons work when the user first lands on the slide with the widget, but they stop working once the user has clicked on some of the widget´s interactions. I want the buttons to continue working. How do I do that? Thank you!

I am developing a e-learning project using Captivate 2017.I tried publishing it into a SCORM compliant format, both swf and html5.The cloud preview goes fine but once I published it, the error messages keep coming up.Warning Error message in Manifest and Class Structure Information:LoadMetadata (Manifest): LoadTechnical: Unsupported childNode found in Technical Metadata: pkgprop:ScormEnginePackagePropertiesAnyone can suggest any possible reasons for this?Searched in a few forums and found no answer. I already reduced the size of my videos and changed every possible setting, still got the same error.My e-learning course does not contain a quiz so the completion criteria is set to slide view.Please help. When I try to create a new Captivate 6 project via File / New Project / Project from MS PowerPoint, I immediately get the following error message: "Unable to import Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. The file may be damaged."I am running Captivate 6 in admin mode. When I try the same procedure with a PowerPoint ppt file, there is no problem. But, what I'm interested in is to import my pptx files since Captivate 6 now supports all animations, triggers,... thanks to the new 'High fidelity' feature. Can someone please help me with this issue?

Show Mouse Click is that blue dot (default color) that appears at the cursor point, when it shows a click.  A question came up about removing the Show Mouse Click option in our lessons. By default they are on in CP and I personally like to have them there. Is this just a personal preference by each instructional developer, or is there a best practice for not/including Show Mouse Click? Do you use it?  

...Hello Captivaters !...I'm working on a project where visitors have to reproduce figures...This is what it looks like :As you can understand it easily, first the learner has to select a color. And then click on a triangle to change its color with the selected one...All the white triangles are in fact buttons with 5 differents states (normal is white, then there is a Green, Red, Yellow and Blue state)...I created a variable "v_Color". I have a problem when I try to publish my project. After publishing my last 3 slide are basically the same, but whe I watch the slides one by one the content it's different. This error is persists even when I try to preview the slides. Any help regarding this would be appreciated.Thank you!

Morning, I was wondering if what I am doing is correct and the best way of achieving my idea. As part of our captivate project I am recording some simulation of our software and displaying this within the project. By default when you record new software simulation you specify the size and it creates the slides as per that size. What I am trying to achieve is embed the simulation onto slide(s) at a specific size, which is smaller than the actual main project so I can still display the background theme around it. The only way I can think about doing this is creating the simulation in a separate project at the required size, and then when completed publish as a video file and import via the "Insert Video" object. Is this the best way? The one thing I cannot find out how to do is to hide the "Next" button and only show when the video has been completed. I am using Captivate v. 11.5.1.499. ThanksPhil.

Hi Iam using Captivate 9, and i have created a simulation course with loading multiple audios(click to continue activity in single slide).I added audio to each image, but audios are not playing as well in online or LMS, While going through the slides I get audio clipping and stoppage at the end of the each audio. anybody have solution for this issue, please help me out.

Hi, Guys. Need your advice about how to write the script on multiple choice. My scenario is to allow the learner to select more than 1 correct answer and the next button then appears. If the learner select 1 correct answer and the next button appear, the learner will go to the next slide. But there is 1 more correct answer for them to select. I have made trial and error to handle this issue but all I can do is to show the next button once the learner chooses 1 correct answer. I have no problem publishing locally and viewing and interacting with the published Captivate 2019 project. But when I try copying and pasting it via File Manager to WP site, the Play Button is missing and I cannot navigate past first screen.http://changemgr.com/gen/index.html The border still shows but there is no Play button and no way to get into the interactivity. Hello,I've searched the internet and the forum for answers, and get the impression that while Adobe states that multiple choice questions should be 508 compliant and work with JAWS, this is often not the case and it is normal to run into problems.  I'm having a somewhat unique set of problems and I'm hoping against hope that there is a resolution now, or I've set something wrong.  Even with a nearly blank, non-responsive project with the accessibility option checked:JAWS will not read the question title or question text.The submit button is first in the tab order and is the only thing in the box to set tab orderWhen using the arrow keys to select a question answer, there are three categories of things JAWS says, somewhat, but not completely in order for each question:radio button checked (or unchecked) "Answer text" on mouseover - pressing space makes it say space and checks the radio button"Answer text" clickable - pressing space repeats the text, but does nothing elseblank

Hi Friends,   Our company posts all of our videos on the Microsoft Stream service. Some of these videos are huge. Is it possible to use that service rather than YouTube? I tried plugging in the URL, but it did not work. Any suggestions?Peter

Captivate version 2019 11.5.0.476Before I updated Captivate I had SmartShape buttons with NO down state, only a rollover state and on Select the button appearance did not change because there was no down state.Upon updating Captivate, when testing in HTML5, with NO down state, Captivate is altering those buttons on down, sort of shrinking them a but to indicate a down state even though there is no down state. If I add a down state, the same thing happens even though the down state is a duplicate of the rollover state.With legacy Captivate files that have been updated it gets worse. The down action actually moves the buttons up and to the left quite a bit. Again, there is no down state. This worked like it should before I updated Captivate.Using Styles does not change this behavior.Of course I could add hot spot buttons over the graphics and that would fix the issue, but I feel like that would be going back in time to an antiquated workflow!

Our Bullets and sub-bullets look correct in Captivate 2019, but after publish it doesn't. An example would be a sub-bullet would render as a bullet vs sub-bullet. Our process is that a SME will input their request into our Powerpoint storyboard, and then our content editor / Formatter make those changes into Captivate. He highlights the text in powerpoint then copies it and pastes the text into Captivate. I was taught early in my career that copy and pasting from word and powerpoint to other software was problematic.In the past (other jobs I had) we would paste into notepad to strip any formating before pasting into Animate.I think this is the same problem or issue, but I need other professional opinions to support my theory.I know they do not want to go to notepad to paste and re-copy (the complaint is too many steps).Secondly we are using Government computers Macros in Microsoft are disabled for security reasons. Thank you in advance

HiI am creating a course for a customer who requires that users pass quizzes at 100%.  Users will have infinite attempts to reach 100%, and the customer wants each attempt to be scored with results sent to their LMS.  I have the Retake Quiz button enabled on the Results slide and testers are taking the quiz multiple times; however, nothing is being sent to the LMS.  Is there a way to add a "Submit Quiz Results to the LMS" button on the results slide, which when clicked would take users to the next slide - where results would be sent. Then if the quiz was not scored at 100%, the Retake Quiz button would appear on the last slide instead of the results slide?Thank you.

I can't remove the text typing sound from an individual slide.  why not?  Should I just be able to right click on the "tpying text" segment in the timeline and click delete?  This doesnt' work.  Bug!

I was given a captivate 5 file that needs to be updated.  I do not have 5, I have 9 and it will not open it.  Is there any way to open a file created in captivate 5 in version 9?  I don't know how to get a copy of 5.

I have a new Windows 10 machine with Office 365 and I cannot get Captivate 2019 to work with 365. I cannot Export captions to word. Is prompt me to check if word is installed. & I am unable to start a new captivate project from a pptx. It tells me to check permissions on the file. I am able to open and edit the file without issue. I have reinstalled captivate and updated with the latest version. I am also launching as Admin. What else can I check/try?

Hello, I'm using Captivate 1. After I record a screen shot how can I get this image into a program that I can crop the image? The problem I am having is many of the screen shots I want to take for my project are all different sizes. It seems very unflexable to have to record the same size for each slide. I'm thinking a work around would be to capture the screen and then to export it or something into another program, crop it to the size I want and then import it back to a slide as an image. How would I do that or is there an easier way to accomplish what I'm after? thanks!

For content deployed with Captivate, I tried to enter characters in the text entry box from the iPad Safari browser, but the characters are not displayed on the screen. (It feels like transparent characters are being input) The text itself is entered, but it is invisible on the screen. The same thing did not happen during the live preview, but nobody knows what caused it. Please let me know if anyone can come up with a solution or cause. The following is the environment I use. I have a question.I have slide with multiple answers. There are 6 answers , and 5 of them are correct. Question in this slide is "...Mark minimum three correct answers"And now is the problem because if user mark 3 or even 4 correct answers , system qive 0 point (incorrect answer) because there is 6 correct answers defined. Is it possible that if i select minimum 3 correct answers system will pass that question ?? 

Hi. I have course and for this moment all questions are reporting in generated xml file at the end of the course. I have a lot of inforation name surname time number of question point for question date and so on.Now i want have only information if user pass exam (without how user asked for each question)I did it (on each slide i unmarked "report answer") and everything is ok, but now i dont have information in generated xml file when course was done (date) what is very important for me. What i have to add and where to have date of the course ? I think that information on xml file now are colected from summerized slide , but i can be wrong (slide where i can define by mark what i wanna have showed at the end - "Score", "Max Score", "Correct Questions", "Total Questions", Accuary", "Quiz Attempts")

We're having issues issues inserting an MP4 on a slide and then publishing as HTML5 for our LMS. The chosen skin for the MP4 does not appear as the playbar for the MP4, I'm assuming because these are flash based? So it looks like there is another playbar that automatically takes it's place when viewing as HTML5. The problem with this playbar is that the controls do not work properly. After playing the video, all buttons will cause the video to start over from the beginning, instead of for example, pausing or using the progress indicator to skip ahead. The same thing happens when previewing in both HTML5 and the SCORM cloud. When previewing in "Browser" mode it works fine though, with the SWF playbar. We are using Captivate 9. Thanks.
