Is it possible to create a randomized questionnaire with 30 questions but showing only one question and changing every 24 hours? I have been testing with normal (non-random) question slides by setting this javascript so that every 24 hours I move to the next slide, but the time doesn't work for me, I move to the next slide when I re-enter the course:window.setTimeout("window.cpAPIInterface. next()",180000);The idea is that the user enters the LMS and answers a different question every day (24 hours).If anyone comes up with a solution, I'd appreciate it,Greetings

I have been reading hundreds of discussions and articles on all of the internet for months now. I am very familiar with Animate and previous Director environments. But Captivate is fairly new to me. Wasted many days of valuable time. My problem is to convert a set of old SWF based Interactive presentations in to new LMS compatible with HTML5 and SCORM. Numerous experts talk and advice on the matter, yet I found no one is straightforward with a practical example. Following is what i have learnt so far.- Only supported animation import format from Animate is OAM or HTML with JScript.- Existing .fla projects can be converted to HTML5 canvas and then exported to either of the above.- Captivate supports import of both these formats.And now the problem starts.- When imported to captivate, both above files display following issues     1. Hello,I have a start screen where the user chooses an avatar (1 of 10) they also type in their name.The entered name and chosen avatar then need to appear across the rest of the slides in the project. So it feels like they are 'in a game'. I envisage there to be at least 200 slides.At the point of choosing these settings, I want to be able to set both these variables once, in one place easily.INSTANCE PROBLEMSI guess I have to label each instance on every slide: Avatar_Slide1, Avatar_Slide2...  & PlayerName_Slide1 etc etc - This alone seems a huge task.Question 1:Is it possible to have an instance that is set globally across all slides? So that I only need to target and Change State once?I also tried to use the Master slide but found out I couldn't target elements within it.ACTION PROBLEMSAssuming I have to label each instance on every page, rather than having to then write 200+ times:Change State of : Instance name 1 : ChosenAvatarVariableChange State of : Instance name 2 : C

I’m developing a course that operates as a game, with a game board, a number of click boxes, advanced actions, and variables. My issue is this: If the user clicks ANYWHERE on the primary slide (containing the game board and numerous click boxes), the course jumps to one of the randomized question slides (which is the action that each click box is supposed to run). I cannot figure out why there would be any action when a user doesn’t click on a click box? I’ve tried a number of settings and can’t get it to work. I only want the action to run when users click on click boxes.Thank you in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide!

We have another group that use to publish projects in SWF format.  They've recently moved to CP2017 and are now publishing in HTML5.  They've used a replay button on some animation slides in their SWF version that isn't working in the HTML5 version.  I'm including the AA page.  I'm not very good at advanced actions but I'm not sure how this one would replay an animation.Thanks in advance.Susan

Hi,I am using Captivate to create a software demo in Tableau 10.5 on Windows. I am unable to add fields (Dimensions and Measures) to the columns and rows shelves. I drag and drop or double-click but nothing happens. If I close Captivate these functions works as they should. I'm not sure why it is interfering with Tableau's functionality. It is not an issue when I use other screen recording software.

Hi guys,How are you all?I just have a question if I may...At the moment, I am building an e-learning module in Captivate.On slide 5, I have a Knowledge check question just to keep the users on their toes that doesn't contributeto a final quiz score. This just leads on to a few slides with images and animations etc.However on slide 15, I have a Quiz that does lead to a final quiz score with 15 random questions and at the end of this,you can review your answers and use buttons to go back and forth etc.At the end of doing this, you can use the MENU to go back to the beginning to go through this module again.However, when I get to the Knowledge check question and click the NEXT button, I go to the Quiz Review sectioninstead of the next slide (slide 6) which has a diagram!Now I have set the properties/options on the Knowledge check question slide so that it jumps to slide 6 but when I publishsometimes I get the same problem, sometimes it works OK!Any ideas?Thanks in advanceKeith

Running 2019 11.01.266. We have a Moodle 3.2 cloud based LMS that has a media repository.Weird problem when i create a web object in the Captivate project.I'm creating a web object to call in the video and it works, but the video immediately starts playing, the video controls go away, and it won't stop running until I exit Captivate altogether. (I even deleted the object, but the audio kept playing after deletion). Published it out and loaded it to the course page and it ran  fine, controls were in place and everything worked. problem is, with a media heavy project, these videos will play every time I open the project to work on it.Thoughts?

Hi, how can I play a video by using a bottun in adobe captivate?! When i choose the action: open a url or file, the video plays in preview form but after publishing nothing happens!!!

Hi all,I'm building a quiz at the end of my course that includes Question slides and Incorrect Answer slides. If a student gets the Question wrong, the course jumps to the Incorrect Answer slide that includes helper text. Then they click the Return to Quiz button (Action = Return to Quiz) to return to the question they got wrong, and retry (they have to do this until they get the correct answer).The other layer to this is the TOC. My TOC is set up so that students can only navigate to visited slides (screenshot of settings attached). The Question slides are included in the TOC. What I'm finding is that when I progress through the quiz and get all the questions correct – therefore, never visiting the Incorrect Answer slides – the Question slides are not marked as visited and I can't navigate to them via the TOC. How can I ensure that once a student finishes the quiz, they can navigate back to the Question slides, regardless of whether they visited the Incorrect Answer slide or not?Thank

Looking for help. Every time I try to preview my captivate project it stops responding and I have to force quit - at 38% exactly. I am on a mac and I have the latest patch installed, running 11.0.1.266. The publish function still works, thankfully. Please advise and thank you so much in advance.

A client has requested a feature that would involve learners being able to change the playback speed of the audio narration on either a per-slide basis or for the course module overall. For example, being able to select different audio speeds from a drop-down menu (perhaps at 1x, 2x, 3x speed options). Is this possible to set up in Captivate? It's worth mentioning that the type of audio (neospeech captivate voices vs. narration by a real human) has not yet been deliberated upon. I know that there are ways to control the text-to-speech audio speeds using vtml tags, but I'm looking for something that a learner could potentially interact with and use to progress through the module at their own pace. Note: I am building a responsive project using Captivate 2019

Hi, Similar to another query around fluid boxes and apologies I am no expert. I have developed a responsive project in Captivate 2019. All looks fine on my slides, but when I preview them some of the slides have much smaller text. I imagine this is to do with the fact it is a responsive project and it has scaled down for some reason, but I'm trying to work out what changes I can make so that it doesn't scale down. I have simplified the slides in question considerably and they aren't particularly busy with text or images. Any idea how I can tell what I can do on my slides to make them look best? I think this is similar to break point and that there must be a stage where it goes from one size to the next, but I can't see why it is doing this. Around 40 slides and issues with about 6 of them. Any help or pointer appreciated. I have just run an update to latest version.Kind regardsPatrick

I'm making a video (MP4) which contains a number of short video clips. I have set the required length of these videos and they play perfectly when previewed. I have saved them to my desktop to prevent any delay in accessing them when publishing the file. However, when I publish the MP4 the videos always cut short at the end and I can not seem to work out how to publish the file so that they play all the way through. Do I need to adjust the bitrate settings? Could anyone point me in the direction of more info on this if it would help? Thanks!

We do our training on cel phones, therefore I need to increase the font sizes AND the checkbox sizes on inserted quiz slides. I can easily make the fonts larger, but how do I select and make the microscopic checkboxs larger?

My captures were looking slightly out-of-focus so I contacted support. The bottom line is that Captivate can handle only one video source. So if you are using Captivate with two or more monitors attached to your computer, the captures will be fuzzy. I just installed a 32" monitor so I can follow a script alongside Captivate as I make a recording. The first capture I made with the single monitor was perfect. I tested it by uploading it to Vimeo - a single video source is the solution!!

Hi, i´m working in a project with Captivate wich have static frames, videos and tests, but when I export as a scorm, captivate creates a .log document with the sentence: "Error [mismatched tag] @ line 60 col 2"I must solve this because it´s causing problems when doing the test, it doesn´t do a right count when failing it. Hope somebody can help me!!

I'm hoping someone on this discussion group can help me.  I have a customer who needs training built, but doesn't have an LMS or access to one.  The final training hand-off is being requested as a CD-ROM.  Shocking - I know!Is it possible to build interactive training in Captivate, and burn the final output on a CD?  If so, how?

Hello. I am using Captivate to create a presentation in which I periodically ask the client questions about the material covered thus far. I am creating slides to quiz the user and have chosen at this point to use a True/False question type. I am unable to display more than one question to a slide. Is there a way to put more than one true/false question on ONE slide? Thank you, Danny

Hello, got a problem to upload the captivate project on LMS and not sure why.The project i created with pictures and animations, then i publish it to SCROM1.2 file and upload on LMSAfter upload on LMS, some of the pictures are missing and the animations are not moving anymore.The LMS admin told me there are no missing files (404’s) in Fiddler when she launch the course.However, the file i published was very good and everything are in there.Anyone know what is going wrong?I'm using Captivate 2019 v.11.01

When I print the presentation (File menu, Print option) and check the box for slide notes to be printed, the slide notes will appear on some pages of the printout and not on others.  The slide notes are added in the timeline along with closed captioning.  This is a very important feature as our department uses the printed output with slide notes for script approvals.  It works just fine on Captivate 9. I will note that this project was started in Cap 9 and converted to ver 2017.Also the copy and past functions on these discussion forum pages leave a lot to be desired (i.e. they don't work).

Captivate 9.0.2.437Can unused styles be identified?I have inherited a project with multiple captivate source files that contain way too many styles in it.I'd like to delete unused styles, but I cant identify which ones are in play and which ones are unused. Please send free advice if there is a utility or easy method to identify any styles that are not used in a cptx.My goal would be after the styles are cleaned up (unused removed) I would export each source file's styles in the manager and import all of the exported styles into new source files.Thanks,Dan

Hey,I'm currently finishing a Captivate programme which is seperated into two parts; the first part allows the user to read information about certain topics, the second part is a quiz which asks questions about the topics in the first part. Now, if a user gives a wrong answer, I have activated a feedback messages that goes like "That's wrong, try reading the information part about [topic] again". I've already been made aware of the fact that it is not possible to link the feedback message to the slide which will explain the topic. Instead, I've tried adding a button to the quiz slide which links to the information slide. However, even though the button gets displayed and is linked to the slide in Captivate, clicking on the button when using the programme doesn't work.Is there any way to solve this?Thank you!
