Hi there, Updated to MacOS Mojave 10.14Using Captivate 2017 releaseChrome and Safari browserPreviously on High Sierra, no issues with publishing. Now when I publish or preview my file in HTML5, the screen shows a spinning wheel, and the HTML5 never starts. I read on one forum of one way to overcome this i.e. by turning off playback bar on the skin editor before publishing. Tried it, and it works.But this is obviously a temporary fix. I still need my playback bar so are there any permanent fixes to this problem? Thanks

With 2019 (v11) just released, that's the only version available to purchase.  We have clients that require us to build in previous versions (2017 / v10) for the current case.I talked to Adobe support and found out two things:1. The subscription model only allows the use of the current version.  So now it's 2019, no 2017. 2. They just changed the policy on perpetual licenses, so if you buy a license of 2019, you can no longer call support and request a previous version serial number.Any one have any insight on this?  It really messes up consulting companies and freelancers as clients we may be building for hold off on upgrades quite often and require using a previous version, and if we don't already have it or add staff, can get them a license to perform the work.  I know the creative could suite can load previous versions for items like photoshop etc, curious why captivate won't.This is a little crazy, i'm sitting here needing to spend money with Adobe and they don

I have a course completion certificate that allows the user to enter their name and the course name in text input fields.The text entered is assigned to variables that are used to create a printable certificate on another slide.  Clicking my Print button jumps to that slide. On entering the slide I execute the Javascript "window.print()" command which opens the printer dialog to print a hard copy.  The Captivate will be published in HTML5 only.Problem 1: the printer dialog opens before the slide contents are fully loaded. So the only thing that prints is a background image - not user name and course name.Problem 2: the slide image is smaller than it should be and pushed to the right edge of the page with a lot of blank space on the left.I thought of somehow trying to trigger the print action later in the timeline after slide contents finish rendering but there doesn't seem to be any action that can be triggered that way - at a certain time or when an object loads.  As to

I have a page that has an HTML 5 animation. I have set it to Arrange "Back", so that when a menu button is click the menu shows on top. After setting the animation to "move to back" my menu, when clicked is still behind the animation. Is there a solution to get the animation to move to the back? Also, I  set the menu object to Bring to the Front.

This problem we are trying to resolve is with Captivate 2017.Scenario: Course has a formal quiz with 10 questions and student is allowed 2 tries at the quiz. The Results slide has the Retake button that is used to reset the quiz if they failed on the first attempt and allows the 2nd attempt. If the student fails the quiz a second time, the Retake button does not show on the Results slide and the Continue button takes the student to a Course Failed slide.On the Course Failed slide, there are 2 options for the student, exit the course without successful completion or restart the course at slide 1. For this restart course option, the quiz will need to be reset to a first time status (as if the quiz was never taken in the first place). The quiz has an introduction slide where we want to execute that reset the quiz action (we can use Advanced Actions that is launched when the slide is started, or whatever action needs to be performed).How do we program that Advance Action or is there anothe

Greetings from Chicago!I'm sure there's a simple solution to this.. On the quiz results slide:I need to display (show) a "Continue" button when the learner passes the quiz. The Continue button will move the learner to the final slide of the project which is just simple "congratulations" message and some simple directions.If the learner does not pass the quiz, the "Continue" button is hidden and the "retake" button is displayed. Hello,Is there a way to make widget results report to a quiz for reporting purposes? For example, I am trying to do a Jeopardy game and I see a reporting tab but it just says "interaction ID". I realize there may already be answers to thsi question or reading material, so if you could just link that information- I would greatly appreciate it! Or any help

I am trying to develop a design template to create training material, and need some help. We are using Captivate 2019 and below is the requirement.Design the SCORM package content with Menu Items on the left. Main menu has different sub menus, and each time sub menu content and quiz is completed (including software simulation test), some % completion is tracked at a main menu level.There are software simulations (such as Demo, Assessment, and Training) for each learning content under sub menu. (Ex: Create Sales Order)Once all sub menus items are completed, entire learning is considered complete, and badge is displayed.Below is the sample design we want to get done.Thanks in advance

Hi People,Windows 10, Captivate 9.I have an interactive video which contains custom interactions (button based questions and answers). The video is just under 6 minutes long. My challenge is that when previewing the project, the end of the video fades out and continues for another 2-3 seconds. When I publish the project and view the final output, this doesn't occur. I preview in Firefox. I have tried both Chrome and Edge but they both fail to run the preview correctly - either fail to play the video frames (Chrome), or after stopping at the first interaction, then display a Loading message and continue playing.I've cleaned the Captivate cache many times and also cleaned the Windows caches.Ideas? Andrew

Hi,  My company installed Captivate 2019 after doing a windows 10 upgrade.  Prior I was using Captivate 8.  Now when I attempt to publish a project I get the error code Swf failed.  Note:  Please verify if any of the actionscript keywords is used as user variable name.  I was able to hit F11 and preview in browser without any issues.I don't see any keywords issues.Any ideas on what to do?

I am trying to do a simulations.  When I preview the project, or publish it- there is a "submit" box that appears.  I want to delete it, but it is not on the slide.  What am I missing?

Am I going insane?I have a number of objects on my slide. I need the GrayShadeBox to be under the "pop up" boxes, but over the background. Here, I have it under 2 boxes, but over the other two:If i try to use the arrange tool (both from the menu and from the "ribbon") to move back (down) one layer, this happens:It moved down to the bottom of the stack.... 6 spots!Ditto happens with ctrl+[Even if I it try to drag it, it won't stay where I dropped it (the red circle), and it actually disappears from the timeline!Why can't i get this layer to sit between WatchInboxTip_271 and SmartShape_268? What have I done wrong?

So I want the user to be able to click a button that will reset all the hidden elements and variables. I am wondering what the best method would be. Is there a javascript or an advanced action that can return/refresh/reload them to a specific part of course and set everything to zero?

I am reading in some forums that Captivate smart shapes are not 508 compliant and produce a ghost shape or button for 508. Is that true with Captivate 9? If this is true, is there a work around?J Noble

Hello Adobe Community,I would like to create a quiz at the end of a presentation and have the quiz results returned back to me via email.  How do I do this WITHOUT using an LMS?  Currently I am not using one.  I don't even see a feature in the Quiz Manager to have results emailed back to me.  Any assistance would be sincerely appreciated.

Hello,i have a problem with video in captivate. when a video dont start from the begening of  a slide,  a grey screen and  loader  appear when i play the slide.Is there a solution for this ?

Is there a hosting service to make this software an LMS?

Hi,I want to create a video with a software demonstration. Audio will be added afterwards, by three different people (different speakers/accents).This means that sometimes, I will have to:make the audio file longer to match the video (add silence where possible)pause the video to match the audio (until the explanation of a certain part has ended)The first point is not an issue. However, I don't find a way to pause a video object for say 3 seconds.I have already checked the following:recorded video in a cpvc file. You can trim and split video, but no way to pause it as far as I can seemulti-slide synchronized video. You can distribute the video across several slides, but no way to pause again.I know that one can pause a slide by adding certain objects (click box, button etc.), but these only continue on success. Hello all,I have a task to create a course somewhat similar to a role based course. In the course, module 1 is mandatory and module 2 is not mandatory for group 1. For group 2, they have to complete both the modules. To maintain consistency with other courses, I am not having a form screen but I am branching the group as soon as they reach the last slide of module 1. I will give two buttons in that screen, one saying Jump to quiz and the other one saying take up the module 2. I will assign variables to both the button.My main struggle is with the question slide. Group 1 has to attempt the questions related to module 1, he/she doesn't have to see the questions from module 2. Group 2 has to attempt all the questions. I tried by creating two question pools and to link the question pools to the variables. But that is not working out as the result slide will create confusion as it takes all the questions present in the file. How do I proceed? Please help!Thanks,Parichaya

Recently I have begun attempting to convert older projects to captivate 5. However, once I started loading the videos I quickly realized that they are not playing in captivate 5! I know that these videos stream from the server just fine as I have been running them with other products and I know that the paths are correct because I've been using a web player to test the paths of the videos that will not play. How do I get around the bugs in Captivate and get the video working?

I have a knowledge check MC question in Captivate 9.It is set to 2 attempts.I'd like the first incorrect retry message to say You have one more attempt, try again.If the 2nd and last attempt is also incorrect, I'd like the message to be different and give the learner the answer and a way to advance to the next slide.My requirements actually ask for the learner to be notified the correct answer after the second attempt, and then click the correct answer. I think this last requirement to click it can be eliminated, but if there is away to incorporate that too, I'm all ears.Is this possible?

Hello. I am using a modified font to write hindi numbers. The font was installed on my pc and worked well with the intery text in captivate 9. I just bought a new Mac Mini. The only software I physically have anymore is the upgrade for CS5. I had upgraded from CS2(which was purchased back in college) and I have no idea where those disc(s) are since it's been over 10 years and countless moves ago. Is there any way I can install the CS5 upgrade without having a previous version of CS since this is on a new computer?Appreciate any help
