How do I get my project to show the first slide upon opening it, like it usually does? For some reason, it's doing this instead and I don't like it.

Playbar is still available when the presentation is published in html even if I have clicked in the "hide Playbar" in slide manager (If I publish as pdf the slidebar is hidden)- I use presenter 11. How to ensure that playbar is indeed hidden og selected slides when published to html?

Hello there,I was using Captivate today with no issues.  Tonight I have gone to go back in and cannot launch the application.  It let's me click on it and nothing happens.Is the best course of action to uninstall and reinstall the program?  If so, is there anything I should be wary of when doing this?  Will I lose my Captivate files?  Feeling a bit anxious so any advice greatly appreciated.ThanksLiz

I am running Captivate 2017 on a Macbook Pro. I am attempting to screen record a video. I go to File / Record a New / Video Demo.  That part works fine. When I am done with recording, I am supposed to press Command-Enter to stop the video. But all I get is a beep and Captivate freezes up. I have to force quit Captivate. Is this a known bug? And, can anyone troubleshoot this?Thanks

I am using a button to open a PDF and or link.  I have it set to open in a new window, without continuing to play the project.  I save the file and then when I reopen it the button reverts to open in current window.  Any idea on why this is happening and how to fix it? 

I'm still waiting on my IT guys to get Captivate 2019 to me .Has anyone noticed if there are any changes in the underlying player code in the HTML 5 output? Are the variables and methods still the same? We do a lot of JS hacks to Captivate to make it behave the way we want it to and I'm wondering how smooth of a transition it will be to 2019.Thanks!

Hello,I am creating a responsive project that will include multiple software simulations. When I click the application to record, I get a small capture size (red box). I need to capture the entire screen. Is this possible?  If yes, where do I find the instructions to make the capture area full screen?  Thank you,Cheryl

Hello everyone!I'm desperately trying to record a software simulation and again and again struggling with the same problem. The problem is, that not all mouse clicks are recognized. It doesn't seem to matter which software I'm trying to record - I've tried Outlook, Word, some custom software and file management on the desktop of my Windows 7 PC. The outcome should be a training simulation, so the problem can't just be fixed by adding in a couple manual screenshots as that doesn't create clickboxes, hints etc.Some clicks are being recognized as such, and some are not. Interesting enough, it's always the same clicks that do and don't get recognized. E.g. in Word, clicking on the tab "Layout" or opening a dropdown is not recognized, while clicking "Ok" in a new window is. When trying to compensate the issue by manually adding in screenshots, then the following problem appears: the generated mouse movements don't at all align with the screen recording.I'm really hoping to get som

I'm running into significant limits of newer software not able to run on my Mac's OS (10.11.6) El Capitan. Hello all. I'm sure there is a simple fix to my issue, but I'm so close to the content I can't see it. I created a course in Captivate 2017.The course contains a quiz of 10 questions each scored at 10 points each. The quiz is required.Passing is 80%.The learner can retake the quiz if he/she fails (less than 80%).I added three click boxes to the last slide of the course. This is a slide of resources the learner can access for more information. I want to track if learners click these boxes or not. I've added those click boxes to the quiz, unchecked the add to total option and checked report answers. When I do this, Captivate moves the results slide to the last slide in the course. I want the learner to view the resources slide (slide with the click boxes) before seeing the results slide. To achieve this, I created a blank slide after the last question in the quiz. I set an action on enter to jump to the results slide. The learner can then click continue to view the resources slide, or cl

is there any way to re-declare or convert knowledge check slides to question slides? They don't seem to be too different to do that?A colleque of mine prepared a finale quiz for a project with 80 slides for a questionpool, but he used knowledge check templates. whats the best way to convert the type of the slides?thank you for looking.ingo

We have done a clean install and reinstall twice now but this problem has started up again?Also the Publish window is showing files that had previously been failed attempts but aren't HTML5 and aren't visible from within our Connect account?

Hello,Heres my shot in the dark to the community;We need to create a form slide where we capture information from students so I have created a slide with form fields (text entry boxes) which are attached to variables.  Is it then possible, within Captivate once the fields are filled out, to export/pull that data into some kind of 'results' page that can then be printed by the student?We want the process to be simple for the students. Fill out the boxes, look at /confirm what they entered and print. Thats it.We are not looking for a quiz results page. If so, how could this be accomplished? Or, can you direct me where to get this information?Thank you.

I use a custom template that I created for recording and producing software simulation projects. With the previous version of Captivate, playing or previewing a software simulation project would start immediately, which is the way the template controls are configured. However, I have converted the older template to 2019. Everything works correctly with the recording and controls with one exception. When I start/preview a project, the simulation doesn't start immediately. Instead, I get a big "play" button in the middle of the page that the student must click. Is this something that will always be there in 2019? Is there a way to turn it off?Regards,Dave

My company has an Adobe Cloud account for each of us. In Cap 9, clicking Assets brings me to the eLearning Brothers assets to download. In Cap 2017, clicking the Assets button does nothing.I verified I am signed in and tried restarting Cap 2017, but the button still does nothing. Is this a bug?

I'm using Captivate 2019. I want to change all the buttons in the slides to double click. Is there an option to find all the buttons in all the slides so I can make their properties to double click instead of going through each slide?  Thanks

Still new to Captivate 2019 and have a project's table of contents open another project (named module_01).  When the learner is finished with module_01, I would like them to be able to return to the table of contents in module_00, which is slide 2.  The projects are not being run on an LMS.  The projects will be published as both swf and HTML5.Previous posts in the forum are a few years old and many refer to a link to "captivatedev.com".  Unfortunately, this domain is no longer active.  There was, according to forum messages, a link in 2011 on "how to jump to a specific slide in a separate course".That is what I wish Captivate 2019 to do ... go from module_00, slide 2 to module_01, and have a button/action to return to module_00, slide 2.Advice/comments?Thank you.

I am using Captivate 2019, v11.0.1.266 and have been seeing a "Gesture" button on the load screen (upper-right corner) when running in a browser.Is there a way/setting to remove the Gesture button?Thank you.

Hi..How to readjust the screen after recording in a laptop??I have recorded a software simulation for the dimensions 1280/760. One the recording is completed, the screens of the simulation are enlarged including the icons, buttons etc. I am doing this using a laptop.Basically, screens are not looking the way they are supposed to be.Please help me!!

Hello all,I have encountered issues regarding e-learnings that include videos, for stationary computers.The issue is that those e-learnings don't work or stops working when the video is about to start. This is for Explorer, but when the learners switch browser it works. Then it stops working in that browser too and they need to switch back or to another one and so forth.All e-learnings and videos are produced on Mac (the videos I add is MP4 and as slide video) and the learners work on PC/Dell computers if that would be to any valuable information.This is not sustainable to ask them to switch back and forth and neither a good learning experience. I thought an exported e-learning/SCORM (in HTML5, to an LMS) would work on any computer, regardless where they were produced.Could anyone please help me sort this out, what the issue is?What kind of browser should be the default browser for them to use?Thank you in advance!

It is a hit or miss. When I go to preview my project in Captivate, red squares come up in place of certain images. Sometimes this happens, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it's random images, sometimes it will work and then on one slide the image just randomly turns to a red box. Sometimes the problem can be fixed just by exiting out and opening it up again.This happens both while previewing the project and the html version. This does not happen to the individual slides when viewing 'from slide' but I need this project to be complete in the next week or so and I am concerned that when I present the project, the red boxes will appear. I feel like I don't have control over it.Is there a way to stop these boxes?The Captivate file is saved on my desktop and there is an xmlParser document that I keep deleting but it keeps showing up on my desktop, I was thinking maybe it had something to do with it?I can open the xmlParser in Notepad and it reads:Error [not well-formed (invalid token)] @ lin

Hi,I have a large Captivate project which comprises of maybe 50 slides. About 25 of these slides contains complex animations created in Animate CC, which have then been exported to HTML5, packaged into a .zip file, and imported into Captivate as a media object (HTML5 animation). Each animation has an audio file associated with it (some have 2 or 3), which I have left packaged into the Animate CC. I ended up combining the audio with the Animate file as I was having major syncing issues when it was on the Captivate timeline. I have code in each Animate file to keep the timeline animation in sync/keep up with the audio as best as possible. This all works okay on desktop browsers.My issue is that the audio contained within the imported HTML5 files does not seem to play on mobile devices. I'm assuming that's due to recent iOS changes, and the audio is being paused and that there needs to be some user interaction to "un-mute" it.Is there a way to communicate with all of the iframes that my p
